The "drop-in tech" to me adds so much more flavor in comparison just because you're (at least on a small scale) allowing for the terpenes to boil off closer to their normal boiling temperature as opposed to be burned off by being immediately immersed in temperatures well above their boiling point. This is probably only part of the reason because most terpenes are roughly in the 300-400F range, I believe.
Haven't been able to test this with a coil for more exact temperatures but it's definitely noticeable even in just the basic torch/quartz scenario.
Very noticeable in my opinion. Smoother too. It's interesting how much longer the oil retains color too.
