Discontinued Haze Square

I still have not really tried this in mine, really should, but I guess I have been combustion cautious especially since I prefer to milk low temps...

Anyway does anyone know if @Haze Vaporizers is still active here? I have been messaging with Alex in the past and that is how I got my unit fixed for the seal issue early on, but I haven't gotten a response in a week now. Figured it could be the holidays, but might as well ask here too, need to update my unit.

They are around. They made that video a few days ago but then took it off. I think they are busy with a lot of stuff at the moment. I know they really wanna get the micro dose pods out but I think they are changing their design.

Been seeing the same issue lately as well. I get 4-6 huge hits but after that not so much yet the bowl doesn’t look fully spent. I think it has to do with my coil being haggered or the fact the coil is old and needs to be replaced.
i have a brand new coil
and today i had full fledged combustion at 415 .......eeeew... wasted the whole bowl

I’ve had a few minor combustion incidents in the last few days. Happens when I take a break from a bowl, return 10 minutes later, first pull after returning to the bowl and I get a the smallest bit of black specs.

When I refer to the coil issue, I’m discussing or calling attention to an uneven vaped bowl do to a warped coil or old coil.

Well looks as if they couldn't fix my unit...got a brand new one today....so with the back up I got when this went into shop.....I've got two full units and three extra sides that I can just slap on when needed.....being a heavy user....it actually is working good for me....never have to wait on charge again......always ready to go!!!!! And these units are hitting so hard..... not sure if it has to do with post production units or just new and I know how to hit it every time unlike when I first got unit.....

Thanks to @Haze Vaporizers for always taking care of me!

Stay Hazed!!!!

Did you make sure coil was firing? High heats can burn up coil quick...

coil is lighting up
but i have been fooling around and may have the diagnosis
just wondering if others have the same experience.

the data

yesterday had loaded bowl in positions .. and :: the Sq was stable and firm and worked well

today loaded in .. and :. , started w :. position - vapor once out of around 10 tries. At this point i noticed that there appeared to be some play between the two sides of the Sq. Also, no matter how hard I sucked it was hard to generate airflow noise at the air inlet. Switched to : position, held the two ends tight together while drawing--- voila vapor not as good as yesterday- but vapor!. tried drawing with out pressing two sides together -vapor but not as strong

My question: does the design call for no air leak between the two halves of the square, w air only entering from the air-inlet, so if there is a slight air leak from the sides - the net result is inconstant heating, if the seal between the two halves is inconstant. Does this make sense ?

related question: my first vape was / is the pax 2 in which there is an airflow sensing element . Is the square's coil also responsive to airflow ? ITtappears from the sequence of color changes ( glow to stop glow ) in the coil that it rapidly heats to a high temp and then degrades to maintain heat at a lower temp. Is my assessment correct ?

possible solutions

hack : wrap a rubber band tightly acroos to keep the two sides firmly pressed together

long term: Haze makes a silicone ring of some sort that goes around the inter- face

No you don't need any hacks...check a few.things .....one did you do.a.deep.clean lately???if so look at.seal.corners and all the way around makes sure it is.pushed in evenly.all the way around....next check the latch on the.lid and make sure it's not loose.....does get.loose over time.creating air.gap.....it's the same size hex headhead for base of unit.fyi......I'm thinking it's got.to be.one.or.the other hope it helps....

you may be right - the latch you are referring to is the circular thingy one uses to twist the two sides shut together i suppose- it does appear loose. what size hex head ?

that's the problem...not sure of size........sorry

Be careful not to overtighten.....you'll be able to tell if when put together and you try.to latch it's really tight.....don't force it...just loosen screw a little.......it can break....then it's a trip to Haze Hqtrs....

Checking in with my weekly request for information about microdose pods or adapters.

I haven't been using my square much because the bowls are just so large.

I packed a square bowl for Thanksgiving and never got to vaping it. Emptied the bowl out and was able to pack a satisfying bowl in my enano, vapcap and vapman with the amount I packed in the square.

I really would enjoy using my square more with these adapters.

Well i ordered a Square Pro directly from Haze on a black Friday special and the unit was DOA. I contacted Haze and after some back and forth with tips i determined the unit itself works, but the safety button that should be pressed with the lid on is not being activated. So without modifying the unit it will not work. No heat. No vapor.

I contacted Haze the day after my unit arrived to advise them. Now i have to go through the warranty process including printing a label (which i still don't know how i am going to do as i filled out the warranty form on my phone. I was never told i would need to print a label). I also am going to have to pay to ship the unit back to Haze and have to fill out some PayPal form to potentially get reimbursed for it.

The warranty process is a pain in the ass and for someone who recieved a faulty unit out of the box to have to jump through all these damn hoops just to get a working unit is very dissapointing. Because the unit was dead upon arrival and i contacted haze immediately they should be sending me a return label IMO and i should not have to apply for shipping reimbursement. Hell as soon as they see i have sent back the faulty unit they should just send me a new one IMO so i don't have to deal with a repair IMO

I have probably sent in close to a dozen vapes back to manufacters over the years for warranty type issues. It happens. But, the process with Haze for a unit that did not work from the day it arrived is very offputting to me.

I am going to attempt to package this unit up this weekend to send it out but again, still not sure how i will print the required paperwork.

My first experience working with Haze so far? Dissapointing. Hopefully i will eventually end up with a functional unit and be a happy customer, but currently far from it.

End rant.

After a long square break and scrubbing every last flake out of my airpath with steel wool, I decided lets try the SS PODS. HERE IS MY REVIEW!!!

ANYWAY

S STEEL PODS: GET THEM

I picked up a full set and some other parts on sale recently (still everything 30% off)
SS pods Gave me a LARGLEY NOTICIBLE IMPROVEMENT in extraction and ABV. Good Clouds are easier.

Slight trade off: takes maybe one extra pull to heat soak(slightly less on demand), i get maybe one less super flavorful piney pull at the beginning... might be the same... I’m not a flavor chaser by any means, so I don’t give that much attention.

I use custom temps, about 10-15 degree increments. With SS pods, i now vape one increment lower at each step.

With the standard pods at these temps, my plenty’s ABV was always looking more extracted. With SS PODS my ABV is as dark as it could possibly be. Might get a few crumbs of brown-green on the top of the pod or on the screen but underneath is solid coffee brown.

Moral of the story: unless a single pod lasts you multiple sessions, or if you need to go from cold to vapor ASAP, The SS PODS are Better. Even then they still might be better, I dont use my square like that much.

Are you able to try the micro pads?

Haven't heard any updates, about anything in awhile.... Christmas rush maybe.

Still get no reply after a few follow-ups over a few weeks... I guess now it's getting too close to Christmas and New Years, figured I would have gotten a response after Thanksgiving... I guess I'll have to try again in the new year

Haze was online yesterday. You’re being ghosted haha!

I Hope it works out for you though...Im sorry.

I must say I’m quite disappointed and concerned with the frequency of communication, news or new offerings from Haze in general.

I think about the promise of an upgrade to a new version of the square when its released.... or if???....

The Haze was only released this year. Highly unlikely in a year or year & 1/2 that an upgrade will be released; usually between the 2 or 3 year mark. It will happen, but it ain't around the corner.
