@abracadaver we are already in the works with the backup manufacturing so we will be ready for the worst case scenario, we should be hearing back in the next day or so but I am sure production is still behind over there regardless.

I will be sending out an email on or about Wednesday for anyone that wants to go ahead with what is available now instead of waiting.

I am fed up with my hopper and battery situation and this product can’t come fast enough. I would probably be cool to take what you guys have on hand now instead of waiting. Would like to see some details. Hope all is well and hope to see an update on this soon.

I have't seen any email yet, has anything been sent? Also, is it possible for you to explain the difference between what we will receive if we opt to wait vs not? Thanks!

Guys, I'm pretty sure the adapters are made in house... it's the casing that is injection molded in a mass production facility. Regardless, MaxVapor will update us when they can. They're the ones producing the actual adaptor kit. They can't just hand out an incomplete product. Even if they do 3D print it in house, it will take time (and probably incur slightly more costs for them and the end user), it's not like they knew there was going to be production issues in China when they started mass producing these, so the delay is what it is.

The only thing we are waiting on from China are plastic / mold related parts, everything else is machined and assembled in the US.

Small-run injection molding is generally not feasible to manufacture here (in the US) because of the cost, I think the molding and tooling cost alone for the two plastic parts used in this project would have been $15-20k.

oh cool ... i thought you were going to outsource the actually machining and assembly of the adapter, after having produced some in house ... i don't even have a gh yet ... i'm on the fence about getting an og gh now or wait for the io ... but i'll want one of these for sure when i get one!

Hi Guys,

Looks like we are still having issues with the email delivery, so we just went ahead and exposed the products on the site to the public and made a new category while we can get it sorted out.

If you wish to go ahead and receive the items that are available now, you have the option to Complete Your Purchase immediately. The first units will start shipping on Monday. If you are dead set on receiving the 18650 adapter with your kit it will be another week or two before we can work out an in-house solution for those.

Just want to make sure I understand this correctly, since I went to the page and the Battery Sled drop-down box has "No Battery Sled" as the only option... If we complete the order now, does that mean giving up the 18650 adapter completely, or just that it will be sent to us later in a separate shipment when it becomes available?
