Whoa, this thread has been BUSY today! I see Shipdit is back!
Here's some random things I've learned:
Fibre is NOT the best thing "for constipation"... it can friggin' cause constipation. Get some serious, healthy FAT in your diet. And drink water. Don't drown in it, though. Healthy fats include grass-fed beef/dairy, pastured pork products, coconut oil, EV olive oil, avocados, and grass-fed butter. I put butter in my coffee. Think about cutting way back on known gut irritants, like wheat, corn, and soy.
Nerves NEED cholesterol. Every single nerve fiber in your body is encased in a sheath that requires cholesterol to exist. Eat your eggs. "High cholesterol" is a buzz-phrase that doesn't really tell you anything - arteries are plugged when the walls are damaged, and the body uses cholesterol as spackle. What damages the walls? Inflammation, which can be caused by those gut irritants mentioned above. Also, dehydration will cause wall damage, so drink your water.
I'm working hard at feeding my nerves, as fibro and CMP are nerve-related. My cholesterol numbers, btw, are excellent (just had the tests a few months ago, after a year of eating paleo/primal).
Bowel control: sure, drinking, drugs, and extreme fatigue can throw this off a bit, but generally, if this happens, I'd seriously consider pulling the partying back just a bit. I don't think even
Keith Richards would party through that.
Simple walking (for those of us who are ambulatory) can help with strengthening all the muscles and ligaments that support the bowel. Helps with bladder control too. In fact, if you can walk, walking is about the best thing you can do for yourself... that and pick up something heavy once in awhile - I have a 35# kettlebell that I'll swing around and hoist a couple of times a week.
Spiders... most spiders you see are female. They keep the planet from being entirely overrun by flying insects. Most of them will not/can not bite humans.
Arachne, from the Greek myths, was a weaver of incredible skill. Having a spider as a spirit guide usually indicates that one is tapped into the entire web of life.
Hair: Bald isn't so bad. Might cut down on bad hair days.
