Just a heads up to say your link has somehow been corrupted: it's missing the letter "f" in the URL.
Clinking on your link attempts to load "luxerheaters.com"
These are practical options that I would like to see included in my build Mr_C. Please add all 3 to my Deluxe!I want the external on/off switch for sure!
New features are awesome, love also the battery meter.
Great work, Mr_C
No. This is not for dabbing anything. It’s used to heat up a VapCap. You can load your dab in a VapCap if you’d like.Late to the party - and don't understand how this works, but would it be possible to use something like this for dabbing concentrate directly?
It looks like there's a coil with a glass sleeve on the inside. You'd need to use a cup and heat the bottom as well. It would be similar to a vape pen. Thanks!

Understood - didn't mean as is. Wondering if the design can be straightforwardly adapted.
Curious how easy it would be for the new external switch to be turned on accidentally, while in a bag, for example.
And, I assume the battery test feature works with lid on.
[/QUOTE]Great question, @fishbrine ! Yes, it's possible for the external switch to become jostled and turn on accidentally. That's the reason why the original switch - which is still the default option - is located under the lid. I have been reluctant to offer this option until now because an external switch is more likely to be bumped by mistake. People who choose this option are aware they're trading the absolute security of an internal switch for the convenience of an external one, presumably because their FD never leaves the house, or they simply aren't too concerned about it either way. When the on/off switch is "on", the heater still requires someone/something to press the internal tactile switch to operate it.
A few people privately requested I add an external switch as an option the same day I declared the FD was only going to have an internal switch, and the people that want this the most REALLY WANT IT. I wanted to offer it if I could find a way to make it work within the confines of the current design. I did, and I'm pretty happy with this solution.
Yes, that was also part of my motivation for this approach - the circuitry remains the same, the only thing that changes is the switch height and the additional machining for the extra hole in the lid. Even the cherry (wood) enclosures, which have thicker walls and a thicker lid, should work with this methodology.

Awesome info. I know the answer to this is likely not specific, but do you have any rough estimates as to when production might start back up? How big is the waiting list at the moment?
I'm going to wait as long as needed, so no rush at all. It just makes waiting a little easier knowing roughly what the wait might be

I believe production has started back up. According to his signature, he is currently working on the batch for those who got on the wait-list prior to 1/13/19.
Production is starting back up this week! The dates in my signature are correct: I am currently making heaters for people who joined the list on or before January 13. I'll be making another post on my expected progress, etc., in a bit.
If you have been following the Flux Deluxe vs. MOSFET drama, you'll understand why I've been reluctant to assume my last solution (i.e., using a different MOSFET) was the final and correct one. The MOSFET reliability problem has been persistent since I introduced the 14mm coil in February. In retrospect, the problem was inherent to the previous MOSFET choice and thus was actually present and lurking before I introduced the 14mm coil, it was just better hidden. The 14mm coil exacerbated an issue that was already there.
Anyway, the new MOSFET solution has been out in the field for about two weeks now, and I am not aware of any failures. I received two reports of "stumbles" that appear to have been battery-related, but no one has reported an actual MOSFET failure, which is fantastic!!! At the risk of angering the induction heater gods, it appears that this latest fix is actually the correct one.
This gives me confidence that the Flux Deluxe will work as well as we all want it to work. That was no small question - I have no interest in making junk, or even making a "good" device that fails easily. I want to make small, portable induction heaters that work well and hold up during regular use. It looks like I can now do that, so I'm finally ready to make some heaters again.
If I contacted you in April about making you a new heater but haven't followed through yet, expect to get another email from me this week to reconfirm your choices and see if you have any interest in my latest options.
I will contact the next group just as soon as I get the April group's heaters completed.
Finally, if you already have a Flux Deluxe and would like to send it in for servicing and/or upgrades, please send me an email and we can work out the particulars.
Thanks for your patience and support!
haven't had any mail this week...,
I probably have 80-100 heat cycles on mine since getting it back with the new mosfet’s and it’s working great!
I DID IT! Finally finished all 46 Pages of this thread! Took me a few days admittedly, but was a fun read so far!
Send @mr_cfromcali a mail to be put on the list around page 10 (when I read it). Then ordered a Caldron to pass the time until my Fluxer is ready around page 35 when I realized it might take while
Impressed with all the effort that has gone into this device I am quite interested in how this kind of hobby/side businesses runs, this thread has been proven perfect to learn more about the world of third-party IH makers.
For us paranoid folk out there that didn't have a question (because we read all 46 pages of this thread carefully lol) and just wanted to be put on the list, I have a tiny suggestion: A one-line email template that you can copy and paste just to let us know that we are actually on the list would be incredible! Would literally take 5-minutes to create the template and then 3-seconds to do the reply.
(Gmail even offers a "canned responses" feature, so you can have the template right inside the web client.)
I know you are quite busy, but I keep thinking, what if I send it to the wrong email address? Or he missed it somewhere in the middle of the MOSFET Saga?
Also, my first post on FC, incredibly positive and encouraging community, thank you guys for being awesome! Love it!
