Firewood Vaporizer

Sorry I have been so absent ☹️

A couple updates:
First, I'm pleased to announce a price reduction on Firewood 9! Over the past few months I have made some significant manufacturing improvements and have managed to get some of the more difficult parts mass produced externally. This has allowed me to lower costs and increase production. As a result I'm lowering the price of a Firewood 9 to $265 for either the bowl or capsule option (was $315 for bowl option, $320 for capsule option)

Second, some people have also asked about a Firewood 10. Since the founding of Firewood I have done a new product release just about once a year. Well Firewood 9 has been out for over a year now and I have barely even started the Firewood 10 design, so it will definitely be over a year for this one. Best case I would release something in six months, probably more like a year from now. My goal is to make something truly revolutionary compared to anything available. Much faster, smaller, more efficient. However I'm not 100% sure if my new idea will work. Prototype oven is in the works, we'll see....

When's it coming out, and what makes it a reason to wait?

Oh. I thought there was some serious upgrade that was worth not getting one now. Thanks, I guess. So this is just standard VAS "This is the greatest vaporizer ever, until the next version comes out, then that will be the greatest vaporizer ever!" Rinse (in iso), repeat...

I have been pondering a fw10 since the second part of firewoods post above

so i have been playing with my new fw9 over the past week and i really love almost everything about it (i do think i like the fw7 better.

my main gripe with the fw9 is the button ... it feels flimsy like it might fall off at any moment and sometimes i can't even tell if it is engaged by feel (it usually is but without the buzzes i might think it hasn't engaged yet.)

other than that i really love this thing and it is in my main rotation!
When you have the trigger button pressed and your not sure if it's engaged, bring the vape to your ear. You'll hear the vape "chirping" as it's heating up.

I was using a FW4 for several years until it suddenly stopped heating one day. Upgraded to the 9 but I miss the 4. The on-demand heating was much better than having to press an awkwardly placed tiny button for heat IMO

Anybody else here still rocking the FW4? I really wish more vapes had HEAT ON DEMAND by just inhaling the unit to turn it on. Anyone else knows why more makers don’t make that a feature? I know that Xvape Mambo has it

Its a pretty complex feature, particularly if convection is involved, most others with attempts at it have failed, but there are some that use it with some combination of trigger button as well... I don't know I find it pretty annoying personally because it feels impossible to clear hits, how do you stop it from heating while you are still inhaling?

I think that works really well for nicotine vapes, but IMO the delay between initial draw and production of happy clouds is too long for this to be a useful feature for dry herb vapes. Not tried the Mambo though, so not talking from experience.

Firewood 9 supposed to be delivered Saturday, which usually means Monday. Any tips/tricks? I’m more used to the Lobo and Mighty+, with occasional Dynavap hits. Anything to be careful of?
The only things I can think of are..

Disassemble everything and clean thoroughly

Be careful not to get herb debris on the coil. That’s filling the bowl too high and debris spilling through air holes or not being careful swapping capsules depending on what version you got

Be gentle with the spring. If you work with it and not against it then it goes in easy

Enjoy the on demand power and incredible terpenes

I like 350,370 and a clean up 390 for temps

A little tip for heating your FW9: When it's cold and you're heating the first bowl, it's worth heating for a bit longer. The FW9 vibrates when it reaches the target temperature, but for the first heat-up, I usually heat for an additional 15 seconds after the vibration. For all subsequent heat cycles, I stick to the vibration (meaning I take a hit as soon as the vibration indicates the target temperature has been reached) as the FW9 is already warm.
