Would it be possible for a DIY'er to construct a copycat device using your parts buildlist and then acquire settings/firmware/phone software from you, or was that possibility exclusive to the Open-Source Enail project?

Apology for delay on acrylic. I have had a dual PID project trying to get through cutting but still haven't received pieces. I want to make sure everything works and is cost and time effective before advising it as an option.

I am actually! (just the buttons ... taking a really long time! Just got back from vacation ... going to contact the vendor this week if they haven't arrived, and might just try another supplier ... although these really do look like the ideal buttons!)

Expect to see progress in the coming month or so :)

@PoopMachine ... I'm still using mine ... and have parts now :) (couple shipments that had to be re-shipped)

Been super busy the last while, so just haven't had the time to invest in building a proper case prototype; I also feel the rotary dial is a little glitchy on the current version, and I'd like to get that ironed out before I send any units out.

Just a matter of finding the time :)

Awesome! Well, I cant wait to get my hands on one of these. As much as I like my Kube One.. Mrs P wont use it. I think your unit will be back in her comfort zone.

Sorry I posted in the wrong thread (actually there's no thread for that?) I'd love to get a JCat mod for the Supreme v3, no resins or oils in my prescription and consequently no need for enails.

There is a thread, but its hard to find  ... Not sure I'm making any more of them as the effort required is hardly worth it, however, I do have one set left (I may make a few more when I have the time as I do have materials for maybe 3 more sets after this last one is gone)

@PoopMachine ... not right now ... just haven't had time ... just been really busy! (right now my basement has been flooding since last Thursday :( ... lots and lots and lots of snow this year ... and then it went and snowed again last night and has been raining today :( )

Haven't forgotten about it though ...! (still use mine daily) My biggest holdup is finding the time to build a couple cases ... mostly the front/back panels for the parts ... if I had a CNC router that could do aluminum then I'd be all set ... however, with a scroll saw, sandpaper, and a file to get a quality finish is quite time consuming!

Understandable.. my money still awaits you :)

I like this @JCat . Cool build . Would using a prebuilt case maybe help. Like a Ebay/China Nintendo case . You could put everything inside and cut out the slots or this may not work .Sorry about the flooding , hope it gets better .
Yeah, that's ideally what I would like to do. It's the cut-outs that aren't easy though (no problem with the round ones ... easy with a drill and/or drill press, however, the rectangular cutouts are a pain!)

I looked into having some pre-cut, but the cost to get just a few is absolutely insane! (so if I have to build one, the bulk of the work is in the front/back panels, and for myself, or for just building a handful, might use some nice oak from my sisters back yard a few years back I had milled into lumber ... or some maple from same, or possibly I have some cherry kicking around too)

For other units, I'll likely use the pre-built enclosures, but still need to cutout the panels; that brings up a good point though ... the standard sizes for enclosures I've found, are either slightly too small (ie. I might be able to cram everything onto the front-panel) or slightly too large (a couple inches wider then necessary). With the slightly wider enclosure I could add an additional button though ... which would eliminate the "long click" used as the tertiary button (the "menu" button you push on the rotary dial)

Maybe use that extra space for some USB ports? Ive got a few things now that could stand to be charged via USB.

Just a thought.

Would it be possible to update "battery mod" software like of the tubo evic via such a port? (Might be possible anyway)

Hope you get atop of the flooding. We had a bad one some years ago and I won't forget that ever. Gets you to clean the basement for sure. Just not timely.

No, because the software to flash the mod requires Windows (Mac in some cases)

EDIT: Ironically also recently dealt with a basement flooding due to sump pump failure. That was a nightmare and a half.

I've been loosely following this for a while. Is your end goal to start producing these or just enabling folks to build their own? If you've got a guide, I'd love to take a crack at it. I'd also be potentially interested in a production unit.

Is there a comparison between this functionality and other controllers? Curious how this stacks up against something like the MaxVapor.

I'll have an update for everyone in here in a bit. I've fine tuned the e-nail software quite a bit, and the mobile app as well (also offers multiple themes now, and got rid of most of the glitches, added an adjustable auto-power off that you can monitor/control from the app etc.

Pictures to come :)

Here's some pictures of the different screens in the mobile app with the dark and light themes applied.

Just need to find some time to do some more assemblies, and I feel the software/application is ready for testing now. (fixed the minor bugs that had been bothering me as well as added the key missing features such as auto shut-off, with monitoring :) )

Edit: Oh yeah ... if anyone is good with graphics, and could make me a high quality FC E-Nail logo w/ transparent background based on FuckCombustion logo, that would be awesome! (in the meantime I've switched to using just a font. It rendered much closer to the FC logo font on my Windows PC then on my iPhone ... )

Sorry ...missed this one. The answer is yes, I would be willing to share at this point; It's proprietary in the sense that it is not allowed to be used for commercial purposes, but free for personal and non-commercial use.

ie. you can build yourself a unit, and even modify/enhance the software if you wish, but you can't build units to package my software or derivatives based on it on and sell without my permission.
