It's awesome to see more people trying this vaporizer out! I have had mine for exactly a week now. I'm just loving this thing more and more. Like I mentioned already, I'm fairly new to the world of vaporizing... so since I don't believe I'm qualified to talk about vapor quality, draw restriction, vapor clouds and the like, I will tell you how my average day this past week has looked like...
Cleaning out the sv, and adding a fresh bowl doesn't add more than a couple of minutes to my morning routine. Once out of the house, I'll sneak a few hits every hour or so. I'll keep the sv in my pocket housed in the little pouch originally meant for the free metal grinder from vapornation. Conveniently, only the mouthpiece sticks out of the pouch. Since I usually follow the path of least resistance, (i.e. I'm lazy), I can't be bothered with stirring the bowl every 2-3 draws, especially when I'm outside. I imagine that those who constantly stir are getting much more even browning, but when I'm out and have nothing but the actual sv on me I'm satisfied enough to just cycle up the temp settings, after every half dozen draws. Lately I have had the three temps set at 5/10/20. After vaping at the highest temp setting. I'll open up the lid and manually stir the bowl by knocking on the sv, or dumping the bowl in the palm of my hand and back again into the bowl. I set my temp settings to the lowest and again cycle up the temps, but this time only after a few draws. Currently my rate seems to be one bowl for the half day when I'm out, and two bowls in the evening when I have less to do. Which works rather nicely, since it seems I can wait after the first bowl when I'm out to go back to the carrying case to use the stirring rod for a couple last draws to make sure its all done, the cleaning brush to get the sv ready for a second bowl, and perhaps the use small usb cable with a car charger to give the elevape a little bit more juice before getting home. Up until now I haven't been able to determine how effective the car charging has been.I used the Alan pin provided twice to disassemble and clean the elevape, and it seems like that'll be a once a week process.
I think my level of appreciation for this device didn't hit its peak until I first disassembled the sv. It's simple and solid, and made me feel that not only will I probably be able to maintain this little device for a long time, but I'll be able to keep it as clean as when I first got it...which is major points for an OCD guy like me.
Beside relying on the carrying case a lot in the car, I also find it pretty convenient at home... I ripped out the rubbery foamy placeholders in the case, and I now have enough room to also store a small vial of grinded herbs, and so now I pretty much can keep the house paraphanilia-free. When I'm home I usually keep the sv charged and connected to the pc using a longer usb cable. I wonder if that is bad for the battery?
You really do feel that everything you need to stay toasty for several days could be all placed in the small case. Perhaps the only disappointment there is the fact that you can't change the temp setting unless you're go back to your computer... or unless of course you find someone who has a pc and is willing to let you download the software on it. That is really the only thing that software does. The battery meter is just too quirky.
