I've been using mine now for a couple days with one of the screws out and I'm starting to like it more and more. With a screw out a lot of extra air comes in through the lid but it can also be controlled, if I want a little more resistance I just push in on the lid and the firmer I push the closer it gets to the original draw.

Does the increased air flow affect your vapor production? I think that in ecigs that larger air movement will increase vapor "clouds." I know this isn't the same type of vapor, but was wondering if it affected it at all.

I'm getting the same vapor just slightly thinner due to all the extra air. The extra air doesn't pass through the heading element so I think it's just an easier draw and it cools the vapor a little more.

That makes sense. I hadn't really considered that fact. Thanks!

Stirred then pulls 10-12 looked like this on temp 2-14

iObC4PU.jpg

Final stir and 3 more pulls looked like this

qGypxDM.jpg

It was just <.15 g. Good clouds on at least 12 draws. Great flavor and clouds on 7. No popcorn flavor. Could have boosted the temp to 16 and finished it off but felt like the load had worked hard and deserved a cash.

Looks like an awful lot of green and light brown left in that ABV. Can the Elevape extract more, or do you put that in a higher temp vape and finish it? (For my purposes, that load looks about half vaped...but then I don't stop till all I have left is dark dark brown...)

It can definitely extract more, when I finish mine it's chocolate brown. Mine ends up pretty uniform but the last half of the session i stir it up after every puff so I can get decent flavor. If you don't pack it to tight then when the flowers are completely dry you should be able to just take the lid off and tap it with a knuckle to stir it which literally takes me 4 or 5 seconds so I really don't mind since I know better flavor is on its way. This vape may have a couple quirks (don't they all) and it definitely won't be the last one I buy but having said that I wouldn't switch this vape for any other on the market. I love being able to pull it out of my pocket, pull a cloud and put it back in my pocket in less time then it takes Usain Bolt to finish 100m.

If you look at my extraction pics above, it can extract as close to combustion as you would like. Some of us prefer closer to that line than others;)

So I just heard back from Joe at IpuffUSA, again have to give them a shoutout for outstanding customer service! Really too notch. There have been a few questions of materials used in the SV, so I emailed Joe and got a list-

-First off everything on the intake air path/cold air path is 100% offgas free and safe.

-The coil is a proprietary cold rolled titanium alloy

-The bowl and vapor path are aircraft grade aluminum alloy and the 3 stainless steel mesh screen.

That is it! Great list IMO

Aircraft grade anodized aluminum
SS mesh screens
Cold rolled titanium

This thing is sounding more and more interesting all the time. I'm trying to decide between the ESV and solo. It will be a while before I make a purchase but I'm definitely keeping an eye on this thread. Hopefully somebody has a video or two in the works!

Yea I still could have raised the temp and kept going. Three pulls is usually enough for a session for me so after fiive sessions I look forward to a fresh bowl and save the abv for cooking(which I have yet to do haha)

Good to know. I was worried for a second you might be done with that. Even in the FF, which is far from a high temp vape, that would be about half done.

Can't go wrong with either IMO, but they are both at total opposite sides of the portable spectrum. The solo can entertain a larger crowd easier, but is far from pocketable. The SV is as stealthy as it gets, and always at the ready.

At least one video in the works;)
But I'm busy as hell so it's going to take a little bit to finish up

Thanks @sasNW!

I think I'm leaning toward the Elevape. If I had to narrow down my top priorities in order they would be; speed, cloud production, taste, adjustability, portability, battery life, and reliability. It will be used primarily by myself and maybe one other person on occasion.

How has customer service been for anyone who's had issues? It seems like they're good to deal with from everything I've read in the tread. I like their warranty too, seems solid.

I'm a little worried about combustion for some reason, would you say it's easy to thoroughly vape a bowl to dark ABV without worry of combustion? I realize there will be some stirring involved, thats not a problem for me.

Concerning bowl size, I see most people prefer larger, slightly packed bowls for the best effect. I'd like my average bowl to be around 0.2g in size, will that be sufficient in the ESV?

Could you vape concentrates with a herbalizer concentrate pad?

Draw restriction and speed, could you compare between the solo and Elevape? Does the ESV hold steady temperature at different inhalation rates? Or is vapour production still based mostly on draw speed?

And finally, if one ever decided to void their warranty by making modifications, do you think the ESV would be easily modified? Seems like someone could eventually make an improvement to the top screen with the screw in it. It's hard for me to tell from pictures alone how it could be improved, if at all.

This thread and the Elevape rep. answered most of my questions. I have two remaining ones.

1. Does the unit smell at all since it seems that you can't clear the chamber of vapor because any attempt to clear will turn, or keep, the unit on?

2. I have a a few desktops and a Solo. My Thermovape T1 is recently kaput. I could get that fixed for ~$25. The Solo is fine for travel, etc., but I need something stealthier and more portable. "Worth" questions are nearly impossible to answer because they are dependent on each person's finances, tastes, etc, but I'm wondering if anyone can shed some light on whether upgrading to the ESV over the T1 is worth it (for over 10x the price). I generally liked the T1, although the battery life is very short, and the top cap tends to get clogged. Thanks.

I'm at work so I'll try to make this quick.

Speed- 10/10 there is no other vape that can blow clouds in as little time as the SV take that I know of.
Clouds- 10/10 can keep up with any portable that I've personally tried.
Taste- 8/10 very tasty! But something with all glass is going to have better flavor. Still doesn't leave me wanting more
Adjustability- anywhere from 350-450 degrees as long as you're near a computer. Not for long though, look out iPhone app!
Portability and battery life- both are the best of any portable I've used.
Reliability- time will tell, but so far so good! Plus with a lifetime warranty you should be pretty well covered:)

Once you get the technique down, I have zero problems getting full extraction without combusting now. But be aware it's still possible and you will most likely combust a couple times getting the technique down.

Bowl size- .2g is the absolute max for me, but I prefer .15 for better airflow. It easily does smaller bowls as well.

Concentrate pads- yes you can! I am working on getting it down properly without making a mess. I will report back by the weekend on this one.

Draw restriction- the solo is far harder to pull on then the SV. If the bowl isn't completely jam packed then it's a pretty low resistance for sure.
Temp- it only measures the coil, so it's greatly depends on draw speed. On level 19 with a hard pull it's a nice dark chocolate abv, with a slow puff I can combust.

Warranty- it would be pretty hard to customize anything on this IMO. As far as the screens, it's still very early on with this vape. I would give them a chance to change something before I voided the warranty:2c:

Shit this did not turn out short

Thanks sasNW!

That answers everything I need to know, this is defiantly the next vaporizer for me.

Seems like the SV is seriously under appreciated. They could surely benefit from some updated marketing. The website doesn't due it justice as far as i've been reading.

excellent review, @sasNW ... however, I am STILL not finding the correct procedure to order one. the website is not helping me out with this.

the OP had a link to vaporwarehouse, I believe, who carried it? do they still? is there a discount?

I'm going to have to resort to emailing elevape directly, I believe.

No problem man. I could not agree more that it's under appreciated, but I'm guessing that will change as more members get their hands on one. Just remember to give it a few bowls to get your draw speed down, and try to hook up to a computer as soon as you can to tinker. I am sure you will enjoy:tup:

@Enchantre I ordered mine direct through Elevape. They will give you an FC discount, just mention you're a member. They are great to deal with

and they have no place on the site to order, and the link to eBay is to a closed sale of their other vape.

I dont know how I missed this vape or this thread? So my understanding is you program it to have 3 different temp settings and it automatically raises the temp from level 1 to level 3 throughout the session?

How fast is "fast" with the heat up time? The site states that once you start drawing it turns on...should I expect vapor on that first pull to turn the vape on? Im very curious about this one and will have to read the entire thread real quick.

"Description
The Elevape Smart Vape is the newest innovation from iPuff USA. This advanced portable unit features a revolutionary microprocessor that controls the air flow heat ratio for the most efficient vaporization possible. Unlike many other portable vaporizers that require a few minutes of waiting, the Smart Vape is capable of reaching vaporizing temperatures instantly. This brand new vaporizer is unlike any other handheld unit on the market now.

HEATING TECHNOLOGY
The Smart Vape features a microprocessor that controls the air flow heat ratio to ensure the best quality vapor. It also utilizes an auto-activation system that allows for the unit to heat-up instantly when you begin to inhale - no pressing button or switches of any kind. The vapor production on the Smart Vape is much better than other portable units because of the heat distribution provided by the heating element.

SMART VAPE APP
The Smart Vape uses a customized App that controls the temperature settings and monitors usage. You can create up to 3 temperature presets ranging from 250F to 450F for optimal vaporization. The App also records how often you're SV is in use and battery level while re-charging. It's available for download on any PC or Mac" http://www.vapornation.com/elevape-smart-vaporizer.html
