Discontinued Elevape SV

Many vapes & accessories. Always happy to help
Didn't want to post another reply for this, but I can't seem to find the edit button on my previous comment.

I had some trouble with the unit not activating properly after working without a hitch, decided to get a second opinion from Joe and he told me 'You are the first one to have our 2.0 unit and I think they are still trying to work the bugs out. Thank you for your feedback and your support.'

So that's why my 3.0 app says Elevape 2.5 and I have extra holes drilled in the block under the chamber.

EDIT: got it working again! Probably had to do with me bending the coil a bit too much and touching the chamber wall.

Wow. Cool! Hope everything's working now. The ESV is my favorite vape for cool, smooth and superb tasty instant convection vapor- and the 2.0 will be even better. Can't wait to hear about it!

Hey Delta, any chance you could provide a visual of the extra holes; the unit in general? Curious to see what's new, improved and under the hood.

Don't know if you have the 1.0, but the OG has been a solid device for me personally. It's served well for almost a year of consistent use. Although I believe servicing may be in order soon, it still puts out quite a buzz when I'm focused enough with the breath control. I've learned that when I'm rushed or somewhat out of sorts, the device doesn't intuit as it should. Settle in a bit, give things a stir here and there, keep it tidy and the thing rocks.

Currently, I'm wrestling with a newly acquired FF2 and it has me in a twist with its unique set of challenges. Quirks and kinks aside, ESV 2.0 is on my radar. Please keep us updated on your progress. Cheers !

Yeah, please let us know about it.
I'm already sold for the 2.0 anyways, but catching a glimpse is always nice.:)

Outside is just like the ESV OG.

But on the inside it has these holes in the power module and slight corners cut out off the chamber.

My unit is A001493. And boy does it make my herb taste amazing.

Oh yeah!! Very nice. Looking forward to finding out everything myself :)

You can say that again, the taste is top notch and the instant and smooth vapor really makes this one of my top units. Stealthwise it's my no. 1, no doubt

Enjoy your new unit man. take a draw for me, hope to follow soonest.

Thanks, @DeltaGunner! So the coil is likely to be just as finicky in this version?

I mean yeah it might be a bit finicky, but with a good set of tweezers you can very easily manipulate the coil. And I think the backwards compatibility with the coils of the ESV OG is a good thing. Also with the 4 extra coils that I have I don't have to worry about playing around too much with this one to find the correct angle.

Who cares about design, I certainly don't. If you wanted a flashy looking Elevape with the same technology it would cost much more. Just look at the unnecessarily expensive Dr. Dre headphones.

I haven't had any noticeable hot spots. I'm vaping now without mouthpiece screen and stir lid (though I have 2). I was just about to modify a stir lid to have a much reduced size. Will post pics of that later tonight/tomorrow. I do still stir it around a bit to release all the goodies more easily. But I find that even when I forget about it for a few hits it doesn't get too hot. This is still true at 200-210° C (390-400 F).

The inside lid is still the same as the stir lid of the ESV OG I believe, but you'll see when I post the photos.

EDIT: 2 minutes of filing the stir lid results to this

Hm... it still looks like a brick. I've never been fond of the design of this vape... or rather the absence of.

A personal call for sure but I very much like it. "Function over form" but a truly elegant design in the details in many places. Including 'hidden' details like the finish on various surfaces. From an Engineering POV it has, I think, great appeal.

I suggest there's actually more design time and effort in this vape than any other I can think of. Except maybe GH............

Not pretty, even ugly, to some no doubt. I buy vapes mostly to use though, and this one does a job no other seems able to do as well? Nothing wrong with bricks, really, save aesthetic?

Engineering and Design are two distinct fields. I never said anything about the former nor the qualities of this vape, and I know it's very good no need to remind me nor be on the defensive. Users seem to love it and its pros far outweigh its cons, it's a great vape no doubt.

It was indeed a purely aesthetic remark, I just don't like the form factor of this object that's all. Some well known company with a fruit logo that I love to hate at least proved that consumer products can be both of high quality (function) and with a very appealing design (form) so no need to chose one over the other when you can have both.

I just hoped the V2 would get a lifting but apparently it won't, no big deal.

As I understand it the goal was backwards compatibility and just tweaking to improve the few things that didn't work so well, but keep the main parts mostly the same for cost reasons in manufacturing I'm sure.

I agree with you, but it is actually surprisingly tiny in person, if a bit chunky, it's a bit smaller than Milaana (though slightly wider and more boxy). In hand it actually feels really good, ergonomic to use at multiple angles.

I do think FF is more Apple sexy, but ESV is more Android functional, and stealth :2c:

Glad to finally see a 2.0 out in the wild even if evolution does seem minor, probably more going on under the hood that we can't see...

I love this vape too, but yes it can be fussy. Wonder if there is any way to mod the coil so it would be less touchy? Do other vapes, pens and ecigs use similar coils?

On second thought, something tells me they already thought this through better than I could :\

Sadly I don't have the ESV OG so no side-by-side comparison by me. But like @vapen00b said: most improvements are under the hood.

I ordered two lengths (42,0 and 100 cm) of silicone tubing. 7 mm internal diameter, 11 mm outside. Hope it will fit nicely over the mouthpiece and allow me to puff on it while in my pocket or in the car.

I'm also going to look for different mouthpieces, not that this one isn't good enough, just like to have some variety.

My Santa Cruz Shredder is still at 'customs clearance' so I'll probably have to pay import charges. I hate when that happens. I want to find out how much more the fluffy grind changes the characteristics of the draw/vapor.

Questions for you guys: Storz & Bickel oil pad or Herbalizer Aromapad? And what are the dimensions of the screw in the lid? Guessing I need a screw that's a bit longer than the original.

Most have found with the OG unit that herb vaporizes more uniform when not using the screw on the lid as it acts like a heat sink. Search this thread for the bottlecap screen lid. You may find with that configuration, you may not even need to stir at all. IME, that stir lid does not function very well.

When I used the stir lid in the original form I had those hot spots, then I ditched it. With a free flowing airpath through the lid the vaping is indeed more even. However I've used this new stir lid for a couple of days now and I'm very pleased with the results. No restrictions in airflow as was the case with the original 'disc' form, uniform browning and still a handy way of stirring. Taking off the lid and stirring by hand gives an even better stir, yes, but since I don't feel any difference in using this modified stir lid compared to without any stir lid I have no intention of leaving it off.

I do intend to still file it down a bit more so it looks even sleeker.

Also lowered the coil a bit more. Now I'm getting clouds on setting 18. Everyday I'm more and more impressed by this little black box of relaxation.

I agree it might look a brick, but it's built like one too. It's still my top outside the home vaporizer and takes a beating. Been dropped, stepped on knocked over etc. and still just keeps working.

I'm not really sure what issue is with the coils for some. Joe changed the coil adjusted it during the last battery change. I haven't touched changed anything with it since then. Considering how much used over last 18 months I'm kinda amazed to hear other having issue issue with the design.

At this point it's been 18 months since had battery changed and my battery life is getting worse. Been waiting on the EVS 2.0 instead of replacing battery. Excited to see some progress on this guy.

Nice see more talk on stir lid. I filed mine down like deltagunner did years ago and works great. Glad others our now finding it works for them. I still prefer the bottle cap screen but might be different story with the ESV 2.0.

Now it's out in the wild maybe we can start hearing more from beta tester and the man himself Joe.

Glad you're enjoying the magic black box.
Looks like a heat splay with those airfunnel grooves. Hmm. Interesting at first glance. Concept marinating.

Coil is an epic measure of function, imo. Getting it right is a deeply personal and literal relative to the omniscient pyrex eye. Difficult to attain, but worshiped once achieved.

Ahh..that silky finish. You could fry a (quail) egg on it in deep space if need be! Respect the brick. Bricks are beautiful!!

It would be nice if Joe would set up a retro kitting program for those of us that would pay for the upgrades..

Two of my best friends.. Lol...
Not to sure about the electronic changes to the ESV 2.0 but I guess the airflow holes and grooves can be quite easily retrofitted to your 'old' ESV.

And @KLo I totally agree with you about the finish. I keep it in my hand even when I'm not really using it. The cleaning is a meditative process as well. I love how I can put some attention to detail in these things, something I used to do when rolling joints.
