Fear & Loathing in FuckCombustion
Is there a way to flip the bowl upside down then back or shake it up? Instead of stirring? I do not have one so....

Not unless you had a very small amount in the bowl. It's going to require a quick stir or two. But ime you don't have be worry about getting it messy when you stir, just a quick tamp back down and you're good. I still have yet to clog the air path with material, and I'm not careful with it

sasNW,
I see this is currently going for $279 at Vapor Nation. Is this a special sale or has it been this price for a while?

letter never sent,
Oh weird, last night I'm pretty sure it had a listed sale price of $279. Now it's $324 with 20% off? Either way, that makes it significantly more appealing to me. Was thinking about the Firefly as my next portable, but I'll have to give this unit consideration as well.

Letterneversent,

You're right. On Wednesday, I made the order for the sv, since the 20% coupon code timer was ending that night. Next day I went back to vapornation to see if the 20% had in fact expired, and I saw the sale price of $279 that you mentioned. I tried to use the Fuckcombustion code on it, and it wouldn't work.

I have noticed that vapornation has coupon codes with timers that expire after X amount of hours, only to start right back up again. I say $259 is a pretty decent deal, considering I also got a metal grinder, and a digital scale...making it roughly in the price range of the Pax I bought just over a year ago for around $240.

So I've ordered Elevape SV, tracked the parcel with eagerness, been patient, went to the delivery center to collect the parcel, paid the damn customs taxes, came back home to charge and then iso clean my new aquisition and plugged it to my laptop after downloading the software.

@Ipuffusa
Could you please let us know what kind of temperatures do these 7,10 and 17 correspond to?
I've seen screens of older versions and the temperatures were displayed in F°.

Also, how do you know what software version is installed and what firmware is on the SV?

Thanks in advance.

I asked the same question during my phone "service call" and was told that number 10 is approx 350 degrees. Then each point is approx 5 degrees up or down.

He gave me a reason why the app now has number settings vs degrees, but to be honest, that part of the conversation is a bit fuzzy and I don't remember the rationale.

Hey @kazz thanks for the answer. So how's the SV doing for you? I got uneven avb (some bit are totally unvaped and some get almost black, and that's without even a decent vapour production), I find the airflow rather restricted.
I've tried different temp settings up to 23 and need to stir every 2 hits to get a little cloud and that's after pumping to trick the 8 sec safety. While cleaning it for the first time I've noticed the coil wasn't flat but didn't touch it, I'm thinking that might come from this but would prefer have opinions from other users and from @Ipuffusa first.

Overall, I am enjoying the unit a lot. My major complaint on it is the airflow/draw. I don't know if it is because I am used to ecigs and vaping bags, but I prefer a more "airy" inhale.

When the unit is freshly cleaned, I have no problems with it at all. But, I do find that the screen at the tip of the mouthpiece becomes cluttered with debris and restricts the airflow. So, I am cleaning that after every bowl. I figure this can be remedied if I can figure out the right way to stir the bowl without getting matter in the slots at the top. Then they won't be drawn into the air path.

This is my first portable, so I'm not the best person to comment on exhaled vapor. But, I have found that I seem to get more if the bowl is nicely packed. If I have it loose, I don't get a cloud at all. But, I do get the effect.:)

My coil is flat, and I haven't had any issues with uneven color. I stir 2-3 times before reloading and it seems to be a nice brown color.

If I'm just kicking back in the recliner at night, I prefer the Vapir Rise for bag inflation. But, the Elevape is definitely convenient for on-the-go situations or a quick session. I don't regret the purchase at all.

Good luck fine tuning the SV to your liking!

Kazz, try blowing into the mouth piece before loading a new bowl. You can also put your finger over the bowl and blow to clear the airway during use.

Took the vape on an all day mtb ride with a few buddies. Fully charged unit provided four long sessions for the three of us. When I got home and plugged it in battery power wAs basically spent.

I have gone from using higher temps in the beginning to preceding lower temps now. My friends seem to prefer higher temps to feel like they r getting a hit.

Hot spots on the bowl seem to always occur in the same spot. With the mouth piece pointing down looking at the bowl the hot spot is at 10 o'clock about halfway between bowl edge and center. I stir every four draws or so. Switched my metal stir stick for a wooden match, got tired or the magnet grabbing it.

Wow! Such a simple concept. And it never even crossed my mind... I will definitely have to give that a try.

(and I agree about the metal tamper/stir stick. I does get annoying with the magnets(

Thanks!

After having it for 1 day and while I was experimenting different way to load and use it, my unit seemed to have turned into a semi lemon... it refuses to heat up if not plugged... the light still switches on and I know the battery is around 70% but the unit stays completely cold. As soon as I plug it (whether it's to my laptop with the app open or just a USB charger) then it heats up and I can get my uneven avb after only a couple of hits.

@Ipuffusa please tell me this is all user related and that it can easily be arranged.

Good luck K hope you get her figured out.

Slight edit to my last post about the hot spot. Packed a full bowl with gentle finger tamp. 6 pulls, good clouds temp setting 1 without stirring. The last draw flavor was a bit burnt tasting. Opened the lid. Slight browsing around the edges, green in the middle, under the screw, and dark brown on left side in the shape of a c around green center(I know picture would be better). This pattern makes sense as there is no draw through the area of the screw. Why it's only on one side probably has to do with the shortest air path. Browning on my unit happens on the same side as the air intake port. Just fun obs. Don't mind stirring...yet. Love the flavor and clouds

Good call @chillersnov8p
I packed the fattest bowl yet on my ride home from the dunes last night (I'll weigh it out tonight to see how much it can really handle) , very tight draw to start but the clouds and taste were the best yet! A tight pack and fast draw makes the SV a cloud and taste beast!

Anyone up for a video demo of its hit capabilities :brow:
Has anyone tried to hook this thing up to a bubbler yet? If it can hang w/ that, I'd love to see it in action..

@sasNW, Did that oil pad work out for you?

I should have time this week to do a video showing a session or two, just Been busy as hell lately.
I actually got too busy at the dunes to even give the oil pads a try. I'll give them a try in the next day or two and report back

@Scrimshaw

I don't know that those are necessarily exact temps per setting. But, as I understand it, yes--those are the guidelines that the company uses in their app.

Agreed @kazz, probably not too exact, but gets us in the ballpark. I suspect the company is reluctant to post figures because the actual temp will vary dependent on draw speed, moisture, density, etc. What these temps do tell me though, is that I probably want to lower my settings of 18/22/26 a little...as soon as I can find a 420-friendly PC, lol. What settings work best for you guys?
