Hello everyone, hope you all are doing well and are safe and healthy.
Are wild times these days with runs on the grocery stores and such. Really, I get it I do but what I don’t understand is the run on TP, there is no evidence that TP will cure the coronavirus. Had a little fun last night on IG and you can check my story there to see my public service announcement if you like, was a blast lol.
What I feel is important is the social distancing and hand washing for sure. That and those ya care for, call em, check on em, tell em you love em and they are on your mind. Family is most important to us all LOVE EM!
Besides all that I am still giving it hell in the shop and doing what I do and going to keep on making man glitter every day.
Have just added a couple products from Sticky Brick at my site, met Kenny out at CHAMPS and had a great time talking shop and geeking bout woodwork. Only made sense to add his great pieces to offer the people at my site that may not be that familiar with them.
@Mako Kupo Really glad to hear and see the King's Cup made it bro and you are happy with it. It does feel like marble in the hand don’t it. I gotta believe a lot of that has to do with the tough growing conditions on the mountains where it grows. From what I have seen in it and other woods growing in similar environments the trees growth is slower making the grain tighter. This will give it that POPPING shine and feel. Offering the stem stand at my site is something I may consider, tbh some pieces I love, and think will do great seem to not. I will give this some thought and let’s see what comes about. Appreciate the kind words for sure and encouragement to do so. The bubbler is heavy and solid I really like how well made it is and don’t feel like its fragile at all. Yeah, I am sure it won’t take a long fall very well but am not too concerned about it falling over on the table and taking a small hit. How much larger do you feel the bubbler stand ought to be? Bro I forgot just how much wood you had gotten from me. Gotta say you have a hella I mean hella load of it and all choice pieces I mean DAMN you are killing it! Really like how you showed the bottom end of those pieces too, you are right that’s another great aspect of the WS that doesn’t get shown much.
@Engleja Bro I know right, bet there is a lot of people feeling the same way. I am glad to hear your unit arrived as well and you like the look of it. I was hoping you would like the contrast of it as well. Also, glad to hear it has plenty of power for ya, that’s what’s important. It would absolutely be safe to use the WIFI socket, there is another couple users that do the same thing. Yes sir, Sticky Brick is a great device. That was cool of DV to send you out a replacement. The Blackwood WS Stem body is at 3" L its the exact same length as the stem that comes with the WS. If you would like a carbless piece get at me and lets talk about doing ya a custom piece. Thats 2 tone piece
@Mako Kupo has is Cocobolo as I do my best to buy it with two tone sapwood to show off the beautiful contrast it has naturally.
@Stone as Emma Really good to hear how you are enjoying the WS in a different technique. You are mentioning using the straight glass stem with no tip, I find that to be very enjoyable myself. I tend to place my basket screen about 1/2 to 1" depth load a loose pack and do as you do spinning it and give it a low and slow draw, very tasty that way. I am not sure why you are clogging the filter disc in the tip as I havent had that issue in such a short amount of time. How dry is your material? I wouldnt recommend using the danielj tool for adjusting the filter disc on the top of the air path if it hadnt changed late last year. The air paths are beinng made so that they hold the filter disc in place more secure. In older units that would be ok to do so but not in the newer units.
@DDave Bro you know how long I have been at the accessory making end of the business, have felt that many many times going both ways. Like you CS is key and no matter what we going to make it right whether its us or not right.
@letter never sent Bro thats what I love about the WS so little goes so far and you have several ways to use such a small amount.
@Ramahs I feel you about the cleaning of the disc, am at a loss for
@Stone as Emma
@Xclerk Nice glass rig bro. Think I should offer the bubbler stands alone? I have given it some thought about the accessories stand and have been trying to figure what time to price would be. That particular piece you saw from the walnut burl took quite a lot of time to do and in the end what would you or someone else pay for something like that? I have looked into lumber for such a job then have to make the stem holders and trying to keep price down but it all comes to time. What do you think the market would go for on a piece like that in a neat domestic or exotic wood species that isnt too elaborate? I wouldnt recommend using the danielj tool for adjusting the filter disc on the top of the air path if it hadnt changed late last year. @invertedisdead I cant say I have seen that rig.
@Slickwilly Bro I know right that walnut it so choice. Let me ask you the same question, I have given it some thought about the accessories stand and have been trying to figure what time to price would be. That particular piece you saw from the walnut burl took quite a lot of time to do and in the end what would you or someone else pay for something like that? @alleyhoops How hard is to show that be as it is? I know myself there is so much more color in it and is so hard to really shoot the wood portraying it real beauty. Really liked doing that piece BTW was my first of that batch and glad you like it.
Hope I have covered everything and wanted to share this with you all. There was a post at another forum where it was being said that vape prices are to high and most are overpriced. Hey I aint disputing that I am sure some are. It was even said that about logs and such. It bothered me to read this, knowing all the work I put into all these pieces and the cost for my parts and such as well as everything you get with the WS I feel its a solid deal. Yeah I know some woods are more expensive than others and maybe the WS isnt for everyone but what I do know is that I dont offer anything but my best and dont expect anyone to buy any less than my best. What many dont see is the pieces that didnt work turn out cause they went to hell before the 3rd or 4th one did. I got a request from a guy wanting a burl stem, I have a flat rate custom price period, you pay a bit more cause its out of the norm and takes me away from retail and wholesale, was wanting a burl that tends to be quite contrary at times and for the most part in this particular piece probably wouldnt have turned in the first or second attemp. What alot of people dont see is that boneyard to the side of my lathe where the busted pieces go and yes there is quite a bit of burl in there too. Also what I am getting at is just cause I am a business doesnt mean I am some big cooperation, I dont have a shipping team nor a logistics dept. I am chef cook and bottle washer. I do and have done it all from web to wood for over 13 years now. This virus has bee tough for so many and is taking a tole on us all. All I have is Ed's TnT and if no sales are coming in then nothing is going out. I understand and I get it what I make is a luxory device, you dont have to have what I do to have a good time. People are hold up in their houses pinching every penny and not spending a dime I get it hell I aint spending anything either. Last week I had all of 3 orders totaling as much as $150. My monthly taxes I have to pay are way way more than that and are due the 15th of the month every single month regardless. I am thankful that I live in a rural area surrounded by dirt roads and woods alot of em. I have enough food and meat to get by for a bit and even if I have to I am not above getting out in those woods and eating locally no matter what. Ima get by but looks like its going to be awful hard for while before it gets better.
I hope and pray that you and yours are safe, healthy and strong. I dont want anyone to get sick I pray me and mine dont. I only want us to get out of this soon and everyday hope we get closer to doing so. I hope you all are using this opportunity to love those ya have close and those that are away pls pls reach out to them and tell them you love em. If you are itching to spend buy locally, buy american and pls pls support your small vape dealers and makers we all need it and would be damn happy to have any business youd give us.
Pls pls take care and stay healthy all!
