Anything worth doing, is worth overdoing.
Hello, forum, and thanks for the terrific reading material. Received my Nano on New Year’s Eve--a purchase largely inspired by browsing these messages--and have been greatly enjoying both its ease of use and almost ridiculous efficiency.

That said, I do have a question/concern regarding the connection between the power cord and the unit. Have been noticing that the power light will occasionally go dark (sometimes after handling, but not always) and it takes a bit of wiggling before the light comes back on and stays steady. Issue's still at the annoyance phase, but it'd be nice to resolve it.

Any thoughts or suggestions? I know from looking at pics online that the thicker part of the connector isn’t designed to fit flush with the unit, but I’ve got the cord attached as firmly as I can without overly forcing it. Time for a replacement cord? Do any DIY/Radio Shack enthusiasts out there have suggestions on an adapter between cord and unit?

Thanks!

Sounds like you have an intermittent short either in the cord or the socket on the unit. Most probably in the cord.

When the light goes out, try and wiggle sections of the cord without moving the connection to the unit. That would tell you if the break is in the cord itself. If the light goes on and off when you're wiggling the connection area, then it could be either.

You can decide to order another cord and see if that solves your problem. If not, contact Andy and he will make it right. Your nano is still under warranty.

I would be suspicious of the power light connection itself. If the heater stays on when the light is out, then the light may be the problem. Maybe Ace can comment on whether that's possible. I don't know how it's wired.

I thought mine had gone out the other day. It was running through most of the day and I had it turned down to 3 when not in use. My led doesn't remain lit when only giving it the amount of power that a 3 provides and doesn't illuminate (for my eyes anyway) until I raise it to at least a 4.

I thought it was dead, but it wasn't. It was only in hibernation.

Having previously emailed the epicvape customer service team over 3 weeks ago with an inquiry and never receiving a response I am hoping that there is a helpful member of their CS team who reads this thread and maybe acknowledges me or my email, the honeycomb stem is great but I did pay for an extra adjustable stem which I haven't yet received.

Sorry for the problem, can you please pm me with your name and we can sort out why your emails haven't been replied to and get your stem sent. BTW we answer emails every week day.

We are glad to see @ataxian stopping by the thread again lately. We've been less civilized without you

I forget who gave me the advice on how to use organic cotton to swab out a gong that is all gunky with vape honey, but thank you.

I bought a bag of 80 organic cotton balls today. I used a half of one, so that's 79.5 balls to go before I have to buy another bag.

I took the screen out of the gong and set it on a warm nano for 5-10 minutes. I then rolled a small piece of cotton around the inside of the gong with a wooden skewer. The cotton sucks it right up. After working on 2 sticky gongs, I now have 3 little gunky cotton balls in a oil slick container just waiting to have their turn. Tonight I'm gonna drop one back in a gong and vape it at a 7 on the nano and see what happens. :science: I'll report back.

To think, all these years I've been pouring these extra hits down the drain.

Edit: Report- It works real good. :smug:

Cheers Ace.

My email wasn't answered on Friday or over the weekend so I followed up yesterday and received a reply from Athena today who has sorted it, she also noticed the shipping details were different too so she has said she will personally check the details before shipping it out which is kind.

To clarify too, my previous unanswered email was from the end of February, it was just regarding a step down converter but there was definitely no response, no major biggie now though however it just made me a little more worried last week than I maybe should have been having previously received no answer to what I felt was an important question a month ago. I also know the vape manufacturers on this site are usually very very helpful which is why I also posted in here.

If you'd still like to look at my order my username is in my email address however Athena seems to have sorted this for me now, thanks again Ace, I absolutely love the vape too, it's a great piece of kit

Can someone compare the vrip with the e-nano in taste and efficiency?

Very similar.... i'm not sure if I can really add anything more? The VHW is extremely delicate with a heater cover replacement cost over $100.

I personally think both the VHW and e-Nano are top tier vapes, and i'd love to have both in my collection again, and plan to on 4/20!!!

Do any e-nano owners here use the honeycomb all glass gong exclusively? Or the adjustable exclusively?

I'd prefer the honeycomb I think, but remember airflow restriction issues, and the adjustable was a pain because i'd lose alot of herbs with stirring.

All right, the main reason for buying an epic e-nano ... the vrip is very delicate! I learned to control my body in front of the glass, having already broken a borosilicate capsule  15-20 minutes before use and went into a statue trance to minimize damage :spidey:

Come e-nano to my home! Hop exited :rockon::rockon:

I use the adjustable stem and water tool adapter mostly because I am always playing around with the load/pack/heat combos and the adjustable screen is just more adaptable in that role, for me......and the adjustable glass pieces are cheaper which here in the land of shattered glass is always a consideration too.

The Cannabist had an article on their Top 10 vapes of 2016. I don't know who evaluates this, but I noticed that all vapes listed were portables. Not a single plug-in.

For the most part, they were all the eye-catchy, flashy vapes. There may have been a few there under $200, but not many. I guess log vapes aren't big in the hipster on-the-go crowd. The nano would be at the top for me.

IMHO All stir attempts should be side to side and never downward. As each layer gets exposed to heat flow the sticks are revealed and picked out. Side to side stirs the dust to reveal new layer. Whatever you put in stem , Dust and sticks come out.
A pull on empty stem keeps screen functioning. If you have a build up of oil and residue, you are packing to tight and causing blockage and puck formation instead of dust.

I have had a couple of days now with the adjustable stem and at the moment I prefer the honeycomb over it however I definitely won't stick to one exclusively. I find airflow is just as good on the honeycomb however it's less fiddly for me, easier to stir and a doddle to clean with pressurised air.

The only thing I dislike with the honeycomb stem is that it feels a lot tighter to fit onto the heater whereas the adjustable stem I have slips on seamlessly in comparison. I'm still going to order the bulk pack of 6 adjustable stems and another honeycomb or two though as I do like both stems and can definitely see myself using both stems frequently.

Have EV not dialed down their tolerances yet? I seem to remember issues like this going years back. I would ask for a replacement, you don't want to be forcing glass.

If the honeycomb is too tight, contact Athena and we will send you out another one.

I linked to one a page or two back that I ended up buying, it does the job however the buzzing is quite loud and very irritating!

I also asked about a silent one too but just like you I didn't get a response and that I imagine is because there are none available or if there are then maybe the cost is too high in comparison? I'll continue my search for a silent one though as I feel it's definitely needed and will post in here if I find one...

Cheers Ace! It is very tight fitting, basically having to wiggle it on to the heater however as I've already placed an order for both another fixed and adjustable stem I'll let the new stems arrive first and have a good comparison when they do, much appreciated though
