thoroughly vaped
Thanks for everything everyone! Especially @flotntoke. I tried using the hat trick, I couldn't get much vapor production as using the basket. Is there any real reason to change other than the screen gets less dirty? Maybe my screen is already too dirty for the hat trick, i'll pick up some new screens and re-attempt it. I'll also try picking up the e-pik once I can afford another gong so the shipping price is worth the order
CLEAN SCREENS are a must! If you see anything at all on it while looking through the stem, it is probably over due for cleaning.
Drop your screen (or screen end of stem) into some ISO. Let it sit for 20/30 minutes, and give it a little movement if you can before you pull. If you can get at it easily in stem (or have screen out), hit it a little bit with a dry toothbrush using ISO that clings to it for better cleaning. Rinse very well with hottest water you can get out of tap. It should look pretty much as clean as new. Shake and blow through it, or let it sit until no obvious moisture present, and hit it empty on nano to evaporate dampness and fully dry. Then load and give it a whirl.
A cleaned screen will work almost as well as a new one. I usually only replace when they start getting torn up from going in and out of glass (many uses). But, if your screen is cruddy it will definitely affect performance.
There's a few other tips for screen cleaning that you can find here in the thread, but think I've written enough long posts this week! Nice to have a few spares on hand and they are cheap (5 for $5), so you should pick up some when you can. Always a good idea to pick up little shit (like E-pik and screens) when placing orders for GonGs or other accessories you might need, too. But, just using a clean screen will give much better results than a dirty one. You should notice quite a difference!
From post above about using screen in hat config:
Pros: screen stays much cleaner and is easier to clean, a bit easier to set and hold proper distance, can fit a bit more material, load only has glass retaining heat instead of metal screen retaining more heat around it. Cons: can be a real pain in the ass to get into the glass!
And, much easier to clean your heating area between loads.
