I'd also say that moisture content is key to vapor production. I'm in a legal state, so I'm holding damn near 40 strains and they all vape great after pre-grinding and drying them out slightly. Some I may need to dry out a bit longer than others, but after a day or two they are good to go.

I'm storing my pre-ground flower in Jyarz for the most part, with a few CVaults & Boveda packs for longer term storage. If any of my pre-ground gets to0 dry, I place it in a CVault for a few days and it is good to go.

Funny thing, last night I had some Strawberry Cough that I pre-ground 6 or 7 months ago and it's been sitting in a Jyarz. Vaped perfectly.. I was expecting it to be too dry, but it was perfect.

I agree with @CrimsonKing grind consistency, moisture level, how much cannabis you are using and heat.

Using a slow steady draw I find is the best technique. Don't try to draw too fast. If I don't have enough flavor I turn up my temp. If my vapor is too harsh I turn things down. You are in the drivers seat, what temp works for one strain might not work with another.

I haven't had any problems with my Enano's performance. I get good sized clouds of vapor with all the strains I have tried. I have tried many strains over the last 9 months with my unit. Not sure what's going on?

Edit
If the Enano is a new vaporizer for you, maybe you just need lots of practice.;)

I have noticed some strains work really good with the Nano but other's not so well. What's the myth behind this? What are some of the strains that work really good with Nano? In my experience girls scouts cookies & sour diesel works really well with big tasty vapor clouds.

So in other words the strains that didn't produce much vapor needed more drying? How long should the drying process take & how do I know when its vape ready? I have been vaping for a few years now & have learned the technique of slow long draws so I know that's not a factor.
Any strain should work fine in the nano. Are you finding the strains lacking in vapor density, or number of hits?

Different strains may require different temps, as @CarolKing pointed out. If you're not getting thick enough vapor bumping up the temp a notch or two might help.

If you're not getting as many hits as you're expecting it could just be a weaker strain. The E-Nano is extremely efficient at extraction. In my experience with the nano I have found it's so efficient and consistent that it could almost be used to find the THC levels of different strains.

For example, a weak strain I might get 1 big cloud out of .025. Usually I get 2 or 3 hits from the same amount. A really good strain I might get 4 huge clouds and even a 5th smaller hit from .025.

My theory is that each hit is ~6% THC. So the one hit strains are 6%, and my average strains are between 12-18%, with the really good strains 24%. This tends to line up perfectly with the numbers I encountered when I used to have access to professional laboratory tested cannabis. Unfortunately I don't currently have access to those resources.

As a disclaimer my theory has no scientific backing and is the epitome of stoner logic. This stoner logic was brought to you by the E-Nano. Sometimes it might be a little too good at its job lol. :science:

Those of you who are just getting their nanos. Fuck Yeah! You're gonna love it

I just created a new use for my nano. I decided that since it is such an efficient heater, I had to find other ways to put it to good use.

After ripping a few gongs, I place a stainless steel plate on top of the heater which connects to the nano's inner-metal wall with a neodymium magnet. This plate, which is about 2mm thick with raised edges, will heat up to temp in about 15 min. I set it at about a 7 on the dial. I add a small amount of vegetable oil in the center of the plate and use a piece of paper toweling to coat the entire SS plate.
Next I take one medium-sized egg and crack it into the center of the plate. In no time I have a perfect sunny-side up egg which I slide onto my dish. Next I add one small breakfast sausage link which browns nicely on all sides, using the Epic metal pick to give it just a few turns. I usually turn the nano up to about an 8 for this step because I want the sausage to be all brown and crispy. After sliding that onto my dish, I finish up by toasting a slice of bread on top and catching all the drippings from the sausage. (I use a tiny dab of sausage grease to rub into the wood of my nano to give it a sheen and keep it conditioned).

I am now ready for a feast, but first, one more gong of purple kush after removing the SS plate and reattaching the water pipe. Perfection baby! I already have another set-up in mind. I'm thinking a mini rotiserie skewer that sets

I was so high when I wrote this last night that I ended mid-sentence because I fell asleep. I think my belly hit the return button and sent it. :ko:

Anyway, I have a lot more ideas for the nano.

I'm imagining tiny little people in tiny little chairs all around the nano like a campfire, each person using a little wooden skewer to roast a mini-marshmallow over the nano. Can you picture it?

Stay tuned. :peace:

What? No GSC or GDP today? :hmm: I thought those were your favorite. (in the nano of course)

GSC is my favorite and I will grow a few plants next season.
GDP I have plenty and just had a NANO GonG full and feel no pain!

whats your favorite strain for pain relief? I have incredibly painful and chronic nerve pain from a genetic disorder, Ive been looking more into specific strains to help my different symptoms when they pop up

any opinions on kush varieties?

For pain I like SNOOP DOGGY PURPLE KUSH however good luck finding.
Next week I will get some PURPLE KUSH and see if it's the same?
It's super tricky however I know about disease because it sucks.
I was free of CANNABIS for 35 years I guess?

The bottom line is I don't know SHIT!

However I no longer trust anyone.
Minimum wage workers claiming to be bud tenders?

Sorry what are their quantification's?

In my case certain vaporizers and strains work well for my needs?
Some have another preference?

Depends if your need is medical like mine or recreational?

For laughter GOD'S GIFT works!
During the day I read non-fiction so I found that CANNABIS makes me read fast? Plus my comprehension is improved?
I like GIRL SCOUT COOKIES during then day.
Switching around I do for favor/effect so I had to learn all over again!

When it was recreational back in the 70's we had the first strains of cannabis. PANAMA RED; COLUMBIA GOLD; OAXACA COLAS;
MAUI WOWHIE; KONA GOLD; OPIMATED THAI STICKS;
MAPLELEAF; plus all the SESAMEIAN from HUMBOLT COUNTY.

Today it's even harder.

When dispensaries mislabel strains (INDICAS, SATIVAS, HYBRIDS)
They take away the medical benefits.

VAPORIZERS are just a heating element and a control dial!

What works for me may or may not work?

Not a doctor however this is what work for me so far:

GSC = most of the day to maintain.
GDP = For sleep.

I made my own strain called CALIFORNIA LIV'N OG = GSC and GRAPEFRUIT. Next spring a outdoor grown of this one! I hope to get seeds this time of CA LIV'N OG Flavor/Effect very civilized!

What's a available:
GRAND DADDY PURPLE = Puts me out.
GSC = functional medication!

Maybe others can chime in?

I like SOUR LEMON DROPS, HELL ANGLES OG, SNOOP DOGGY PURPLE KUSH, DUTCH TREAT, DUTCH CRUNCH, PINE TREES OG.

I have some OCEAN GROWN OG?
It's unreal however it's a mystery?

I love water setups & with my SCA I found the NANO easy to operate plus I'm sensitive to flavors.

When I was recreational I liked joints the best.

After vaporizing I can't stand smoke anymore?

PM me if you need to know something else?

I have learned what work's for me doesn't work for others!

You guys seem to know a lot in the way of aromatherapy. I just got my oil cup, and I'm looking for some recommendations?

I turned it up too high and oil splashed all over my nano!

Now it has dark streaks on it. Thats okay, now its artsy :freak:

5.5 has proven best for me, with the few extremely overpriced oils i picked up at my local shop.

Amazon has stuff too, but only in bulk!

Don't move the nano around with oil in it!
I had a stupid Comcast technician bump into my Nano with the aromatherapy cup - splashed oil all over the heater and inside the unit. Took me several days to clean it up, and left he nano cranked to 10 for hours to burn off everything on/around the heater. Thankfully my Nano is still going strong.

Make sure you put some beeswax into the oil so it solidifies when you remove it from the nano.

I just went to my local craft store and picked up some scented wax blocks - one tiny block will last you a LONG time.

Can you guys/gals recommend which stem to get? The stem that came with my Nano broke (Not a new Nano. Purchased it a few years back.) and I'm debating if I should get the adjustable stem or the fixed glass one. I still have a set of basket screens from my old stem.

Nano arrived yesterday. I immediately ran several stems through it and passed out wasting around ~1/2 of my sat lmao. I've been leaving each bowls avb separated in a pile for study and amusement at their teeny tiny size. So far I'm throughly impressed with it's efficiency, but through water I'm having a degree of difficulty getting consistent thick vapor, I also feel my extractions are dragging out.

So far for dry stems I'm liking 6.25-6.75ish and 7-7.75 for water. I managed to scorch but not combust around 8.2, so I'll probably save 8+ for concentrates.

Any advice for thicker vapor through glass? I've kept my stems and loads right at e-pik settings thus far.

I'd like to update since my last post . To re-cap I made a post mentioning that my black base was slightly off center with a tiny gap , I was just asking if this was normal? To my surprise Andy responded back within minutes requesting me to send the unit in for adjustment , & also mentioned giving a free stem for my troubles . The issue was so minor I debated on even sending the unit in , especially since I had fallen in love with the unit and did not want to be without it . I finally got around to sending the unit in this Tuesday . Andy realigned the base and had my unit back in my hand with a free stem by this sat , WOW ! I live half way across the country so I really could not be more pleased with the customer service of this company . Since The nano was gone it gave me a chance to get my glass cleaned in my "nano station" for her return . I took a couple pictures of her for you guys in her natural environment as soon as she got home . I got the fiddleback maple wood , I think the horizontal "waves" in the wood and light wood tone really give it a modern look which I like a lot and matches my home décor .

One little mod I did to the aluminum epic stand is add a tool/ accessory holder . I found that a kanger mini protank3 glass sleeve with two #6 o-rings slipped into one of the stands holes provides a very nice looking & functional holder for brush, e-pick , and stir tool . I also have been looking for a more cosmetically appealing heat grip for the stems . The clear cut piece of silicone tube provided is adequate and functions well for its purpose . The problem with using tubing is its next to impossible to get a strait line with it on its cut edges . I tried making my own sleeves using silicone tubing and heat shrink , I taped off strait lines and followed them with a razor blade. These were a little better looking ,but still not very appealing . I finally came across these little silicone rings sold for ego battery's and tanks . The size of these is OD=16mm, ID=13mm, and height 9mm . They fit stems and Gongs perfect , I find that 3 of them stacked works best . They go on easy and come off easy , but have a very secure hold . They feel great in hand , and there machined tapered cut edges provide a very uniform professional looking fit .

I am probably in the OCD anal minority here , but Andy if you see this I wonder how hard it would be to get these made with the EPIC logo on them ? I think it would be cool to buy maybe a 3 ,6 or 9 pack of different colors , and buy multiples to mix and match colors . Maybe the forum could even come up with other nano specific terms to put on the rings . The printing part of it can't be to difficult since my local e-cig store has there shop name printed on these . The printing has also been very strong against iso and other solvents as I have tried to wipe the print of the ones I already have .

Now that I have a nano I am just floored by the craftsmanship , everything is machined and made to such perfect tight standards . The accessory's are no exception either . For $30 my stand is a solid piece of aluminum with flawless rounded machined corners and blemish free anodizing job , If this was a part for my car it would probably be at least $100 . Everything is just high quality from the well thought out e-pick to the nice thick glass pieces , even the dial is perfect with its inside joke . My only complaint with everything so damn perfect is the stock stem sleeves which is just my OCD . I did month's of research before I bought my nano , I could have got anything . For various reasons I picked this over vapes 3 times the cost and I am glad I did ,

Every unit is going to vary slightly, but through water I set my nano to 6-6.5 (this is after it is fully warmed up and the entire unit is warm to the touch). If the product is ground very fine like MLFB grinder style I don't pack if it's a more coarse grind I will pack / tamp down slightly. Draw on the water piece slow to medium yields me 1-2 thick milky hits and 1-2 thinner hits empty and repeat as necessary. If you are still having trouble getting thick vapor try pre-grinding some product and leaving it "out" to dry out a bit 12-48 hours depending, that usually fixes issues if I am having them.

Different folks like different stems. Both types are liked by many. The benefit of the adjustable stem is that you can easily adjust the depth of the screen. You can also check out Ed's TNT who makes really nice wooden stems out of quality woods (the bowl area is metal).

IDK if you have a gong already, but if you like using waterpipes then make sure you have an adjustable gong in your collection. Ed makes wooden wongs and joda glassworks make some sweet looking glass gongs with carbs. I don't have either but maybe someday. The regular gongs from Epic work just fine.

I prefer gongs and the waterpipe for a smoother hit, but the stems are great for flavor and convenience.

Welcome to the nano forum.

I use the adjustable screen on the water tool adapter because its easy to turn into a dry stem when needed. As to the advantage of the adjustable screen over the fixed screen its as big or small as you want it to be. I spent a fair amount of time fiddling with the screen depth and found what works best for me but to be honest I can get very similar results with a fixed screen piece.

Get the adjustable one (or two so you have a backup), and a pack of screens. There is very little resistance from the metal screens, yet they are still fine enough to let you vape anything from whole buds to kief.

Try a very fine, sand-like grind, and a light pack of the load to slow the airflow, and increase surface area of the herb.

When using your Enano with essential oils with an aroma therapy cup I add a little bit of water too, just a few drops of the oil. The oil gets hot and burns and starts to pop all over, so be careful. Have your unit while using as an aroma therapy device away so it doesn't get bumped.

I usually have the heat at 5 or try slightly under.

I have some Kryptonite and Strawberry Cough in my Enano tonight using a fine grind and heat at 6.25. The Strawberry Cough is harsh and the Kryptonite combined makes it a better flavor for me. Later I will get out my J hook, it's easier than getting out the water tools.
