If I want to use the E Nano with a 14mm water attachment that has a male end (dab rig), then I would need this attachment, correct?
I'm sure this was covered somewhere in this thread but I just want to be sure before purchasing.

I tried so many vaporizers however the NANO was better than all of them.
I have a LOTUS as well.

MY NANO is alway on!

6 is my level right now.

ICY OG, ANIMAL COOKIES, ELECTRIC BANANA OG. I have more however need to take it easy!

"Better" is so subjective... I love my nano and is always on as well, it does many things great, but to say it is "better than all" is a stretch as all my vapes do certain things better than one another. In your example of Lotus to Nano, I would argue that flavor is better with the Lotus with every single strand I have. Flavor is still great with the Nano but in the flavor department, but it doesn't compete with me versus the Lotus flavor...

Can anyone describe the risks, if any, of leaving the nano plugged in 24/7, even when no one's home? I mean, this thing gets very hot at the tip? I would just worry about leaving it out and running.

None! As others said above, just go for it and out it out of the way of pets.

First of all I would like to say thanks for all of the helpful replies. FC is definitely one of the best, most welcoming communities on the Internet.

I'm not too worried about the heat up time, and I'm sure I'll be happy with the nano. It is a bit unfortunate that the website is misleading. However, I knew about the turn it up to 10 technique from reading the beginning of this thread. I didn't plan on doing that anyways, at least at first, as I thought it seemed a bit silly to turn it up and then back down, not to mention the risk of forgetting to turn it back and accidentally combusting.

By reading the forum I knew vapes change a lot over the years. I noticed they mostly change for the better. I wanted to read more recent posts about it but I wanted to purchase a home unit soon, and I was also worried about them running out of stock on the beautiful fiddleback maple.

I figured if the performance was good enough for the early posters/beta testers it would be good enough to me, and I still believe that. I have modest needs, and didn't really plan on hitting it for about 5 minutes, maybe 10 after plugging it in. If I can get a couple tasty low temp hits and a decent mid temp hit or two in that time span I'll be happy.

I'd rather not leave it plugged in 24/7 for various reasons, including the fact that I have cats. Even if it was plugged in but not on (I'm not sure if that's even possible) I could see them playing with the cord and pulling it off a table. Maybe I'll feel more comfortable with that over time. I do plan on leaving it on while I'm at home and awake. Either way, I have my Atmos Boss to fall back on, although I don't think that will be necessary. I would like to ask exactly what you guys mean by peak performance, in regards to 30 minute heat up times.

I want to thank everyone again and I hope I haven't sounded too negative, I'm really excited about my purchase, and can't wait to do some intensive testing when it comes ;)

"peak performance" is when the whole unit reaches a kind of "thermal equilibrium" ;) or in other words it's heated all the way through (wood is warm) enough so that the nano will be able to maintain a solid temp no mateer how much you hit it.

From my experience, 5 mins on 10, then down to desired temp if you're in a hurry... unless you do a few hits in a row at that point you'll be good.

I leave mine on while I'm at home, and use a segmental mechanical timer to set the nano to come on 30 mins before I get in from work, or out of bed...

I thought that might be the case, so I should be just fine. The scenario I was imagining was after I get home taking one or two low temp hits about 5-10 minutes after it's plugged in, and then one or two more medium temp hits, with at least a minute between those, if not more. And not huge hits either, I hate to use a combustion analogy but hits from a small glass pipe versus a bong. That would leave me satisfied at least long enough to reach the 30 minute mark.

I think I can deal with thermal retention, from my use with portables I am used to drawing slow so even less than peak performance for the nano will be better than the portables I have used. Using those also made me master the art of coaxing decent hits without dropping temps too much. I could actually get some pretty good size clouds with the Iolite, although everyone else that tried struggled to achieve the same results.

That being said if I was only able to vape in the cold garage I'd look into a nice portable.

This is funny.

My first vape was a portable. I remember being worried if I'd be able to do quick hits in the garage with my portable like I could (albeit not without significant and stressful risk) with my tiny one-hit combustion tool. Turns out I sure as heck could. The portable freed me up so much that I have 't been back in the garage unless I've wanted to be tbere.

When I decided that a second vape was a highly smart thing to have, I chose a plug-in... The nano. I originally thought it would be used only occasionally, as a treat. Turns out it's my go to vape 'cause it's more convenient than my portable. Go figure.

We have different needs and medicate for different reasons!
The more expensive vaporizers are not useful for my condition.
For certain I agree with you.
I love my LOTUS however my wife hates it. My NANO is perfect for my situation. The family is cool with it!

I have 11 different strains that taste amazing. I'll try not to post!

Sorry!

@Vapor_Eyes Only you can decide what is right for you. The Nano has many satisfied customers. Often folks have a portable as well as a desktop. Many of us have several vaporizers but find the Nano is our fav while at home.
Sometimes a portable is necessary you will have to decide what fits your lifestyle. Maybe even a Magic Flight Launch Box? I didn't like it personally but a lot of others do. This is the nano thread, I say no more.

Good luck finding what fits your needs.

I'm sure this was covered somewhere in this thread but I just want to be sure before purchasing.

You would also need a 14mm female to 14mm female adapter with that combo. Nothing wrong with gay humans IMO, but makes for very bad connections with glass! Epicvape doesn't do any female connections, so you'll always need an F to F to connect to a male connection on a piece.

Unless you have mostly 14mm on your glass (or plan on picking up a bunch), my advice would be to get an 18mm nano GonG adapter and a 14mm F to 18mm F adapter to put it all together. If you do expand your glass collection later, you'll find that many popular pieces that aren't designed as dab rigs have an 18mm F connection, so with the 18mm nano GonG you're good to go for simple connection. I also like the more robust feel of an 18mm better. If you'll be using your nano only with 14mm, then obviously the 14mm GonG adapter might be better.

Couldn't agree more with this and other comments above. While the nano wood gets warm and the metal cup inside can get pretty hot, it is only the end of the heater port (the screen topped shaft in the middle) that is really hot - 200C (almost 400F) or so depending on dial setting. Something would have to sit right on it (or it right on something) for it to be an issue. The top of a 150 watt incandescent bulb can get to same temp or more.

Thanks for the encouragement! I started my vape journey on a portable a few years ago, got rid of that because I quit MJ for awhile. Just got my second portable a week and a half ago after quitting combusting for good. I'm happy with my current portable unit, I only worry about long term reliability. I started to want a second unit or at least a second battery. After thinking about it I started to consider a home unit and read up on many before choosing the e-nano. I'm confident I picked the best option for my needs, especially considering I plan on always owning at least one portable. I'm not a fan of the MFLB for many reasons, but this is not the time or place to discuss that.

Yeah my vote is for the 18mm too  both for the reasons above and (mainly) because I use the adjustable gong I find the basket screens so much easier to swap out on the 18mm, as you can insert them from the bottom.
Real pain to try to get a screen in from the top of the gong :bang:

Have fun getting ripped durt!

I am looking forward to it! Today is pretty slow in the office, the next 5 hours will feel like an eternity!

Should I try the e-nano dry first? Or drive right into my d020-d?

Might try a bowl at 6 for flavor then another bowl at 7 to get some nice production.

If anyone has suggestions to break in my nano let me know! :) I've been doing my research, I think I'm prepared.

When you get home, unpack the Nano and plug it in. Set it to 7 and walk away for 30 minutes! I know how hard it is to NOT vape right away, but trust me, your first session will be so much more epic if you wait 15+ minutes for the vape to fully preheat before using it

so I've been using the nano since Feb. it's the daily driver and serves me well.

Sadly my wood cracked and now the power plug is loose.

Has anyone else had this issue and is there by any chance an easy fix ?

and/or should I just ignore it. My concern is that every time I place he nano in it's wooden base the plug gets knocked a little looser due to the crack.

This is the best dish I have found to fill the straight glass nano tube.

Think you're on the right track. I'd suggest dry first. If you can wait, put it at 10 for 10 minutes, then drop it down to 5.75 for another 10. It can take a few for it to get down to temp from 10, too. Grind and load a small load in the stem (only about 4-5mm high in tube). Flavor should be amazing! Finish that up, and maybe bump it up a bit along the way. Set nano at 6.5 and get your D020 and GonG load ready, then enjoy some nice water tamed vapor!

I suggest the lower temps, because is better to take temp up on a load than down. Easy to bump it up and IME small temp changes (1/4 setting or so) only take a minute or two. And, analog nano dials aren't known to be exact from one to the next. Yours may run a bit hotter or cooler than others. No worries.... whatever your 6.5 is should always stay the same on yours, it might just be a bit of a different temp than on mine.

Some with cracks have let them go and don't think the cracks got bigger. Others have had them keep cracking worse. Not surprising with heating and cooling. Could always put a hose clamp around it for that steam punk look, but I'd send it in for repair. Would be more worried about it being at the plug than the crack itself.

That sucks. This is not very common, but wood does crack. It's unpredictable, even trained experts turning wood on lathes for 40 years cannot predict which pieces will crack.

As long as you didn't supply your own wood for the Nano, your warranty covers the wood against cracks. Go to the website and there should be a link to start a warranty or an "RMA". Follow the instructions on that page to begin the process. Unfortunately that means shipping your Nano back to EV, but it won't cost you anything except shipping!

Got one of those, I got some hose clamps and glue and closed up the split. Now I am waiting for the next split.

For cleaning? I use a piece of PVC (insert PVC warnings) pipe and a couple of caps. Its easy to pour in and out of and uses minimal ISO.

My first cherry custom cracked and I needed to send it back. It started at the top and went all the way to the bottom. It didn't hurt the operataing of the Nano. I bought a second one then sent the cherry back. You won't have to pay for shipping. They sent me another unit that looked more beautiful than the first one.

Use your warranty.

Thanks for the advice! I'm really hoping the nano can help me cut back on consumption. I usually put ~0.4g in my volcano (a few bags throughout the day), I can't wait to try using 1/8 of that in the nano! Don't get me wrong - I love my volcano and it gets me incredibly medicated, but the idea of a highly efficient, quick session is what intrigued me about log vapes.

This will be my second desktop unit; I have a volcano at home, as well as a pax2 & air as my portables. I also have a ti grasshopper pre-ordered. My vaporizer family is growing and I couldn't be happier :)

I'll probably turn my unit up to 10 for 10 minutes, then turn it down to 6.5 for another 15 minutes just to make sure it's hot (but not too hot)

That should have it ready to go! IME, other than the wood warming a little more on the outside, you'll be at pretty much the same temp as when it has been left on at 6.5 with that warmup. Do pretty much the same when I get to a cold nano.

Bags are nice. Have had them from volcanoes a few times and used an EQ for a few years. But, think you're going to be very happy with nano instead. Flavor on the first couple hits is something I've never seen a bag able to do. Also, don't have either but have used Pax2 and similar vapes and have a solo. On demand convection vapor is a tasty and beautiful thing!

BabyFacedFinster

Anything worth doing, is worth overdoing.
I wouldn't leave it at max temp... but, mine runs 24/7 at anything between 5.5 - 7. No problems, ever.
I'd keep it out of reach of children, pets, make sure the cord can't be tripped over, etc.

I've had mine for a couple of years now, running constantly. Hmm... 2.5 years. Never an issue.*

*not with running 24/7. Did have to redo the inner connections, but not from leaving it on.

Thanks everyone for your responses, and thanks Enchantre for your detailed video on its use. Very nice Dragon too :)

Although that smart outlet looks cool, I'm gonna hold off for now. I do have a dog, a big pain in the ass dog as a matter of fact. Between him and others at home, I know something would happen. That's not to say that I wouldn't be able to turn it on 15 min before using. I'm mostly a late evening vaper, but the wintertime would pose a problem.
I do have 2 portables and a vapor bros desktop. They are all great right now, but come winter the VB is too bulky to keep pulling out and setting up, the Firefly batteries are an issue at 0 degrees so that leaves the Lotus. I love the Lotus now that I've controlled the torch, but the nano would be a change of pace. Give me a few more months of reading this thread and I'll own one, I just know it. I'd get the 14mm GONG for my new glass too.:brow:
