You know, @BLAZING OG , I think it was just the fact that it hit the tile.
Your counter looks a LOT like a tile counter I installed when I was living in Minnesota. Yes, I actually installed it myself. I couldn't begin to tell you how many glasses, cups, and dishes were chipped or broken after that! *sigh*
I love tile. Do not get me wrong. I still love that I tiled that counter/backsplash (all the way up to the cupboard!), but I would at least put a silicon baking mat down, now!
When I broke my last Gong (okay, hubby did it), I ordered TWO replacements. I have one tucked away. I was using the regular stem, and hooking it to the water tool (I think I posted photos, earlier in the thread), until I got my replacements.

Thats funny you mentioned the silicone pad, because I have 2 of them but now realize i need a large baking silicone sheet lol lol

I fashioned a make shift gong out of a combustion bowl I no longer used, works great till I get my order in.
I still like the gong better ,but as you said I'll probably be picking up 2 and tucking one away for those unforeseen accidents.

The funny part is that I had just told my friend to be careful as this almost happened to me earlier, and as i finish telling him he just pulls the nano of in awwww of its beauty and baaaaaaaaaam there went the gong.
I think he pulled it out at an angle so it dragged the gong along with the nano and thenwhen there was nothing to rest on it fell out.
I think thast why he felt so bad because I had just finished telling him

Oh man Ive been loving this thing with the all glass dry path stem (screen installed). Not so much with the pinch stem and sadly not the GonG/PNWT. It appears easier to produce clouds with the solo and WT versus the Nano and WT.
I am also fully aware its probably me and its in all honestly the least used configuration that ive tried.
That being said I'm REALLY trying not to order this Mobius Ion Matrix bubbler. Someone talk me out of this... please... or at least point me to a good deal on one.

Thats very interesting, when I tried it (PNWT) the few times I did ,felt like I got larger clouds easier & I for sure choked off the hits vs my gridded up perc no choke. I might have to give it some more testing , but I agree the dry stem keeps getting my attention and the clouds with dry stem seem larger and can quickly fill my lungs with cloudy tasty vapor.

I use the fitting on the right as a carburetor. For broken GonG reasons I don't lift my vaporizer.
I MacGiver a relieve path of some kind.
Not as high tech as you however just CHILLUM!
