Does anyone use facebook any more?
I have a page there, and it is odd as I have almost as many followers here on the forum as I have likes on my facebook page. There are a few reviews there, but not many considering the number of these units I have shipped so far.
But I don't think it means much. I still feel things are going OK considering I don't get too many requests for a refund or cancellation.
So if anyone is interested in doing so, a few words on my page would be appreciated.
All that said. I am very grateful for the positive comments I have seen around the web, (here and reddit and wherever) and the nice pictures and videos of the Dynavap products.
I can tell you for sure we love what we do here. The thought of the joy our products hopefully bring to our customers is one of the most motivating things ever experienced.
I have hoped for a long time I would be able to be excited to go to work everyday. It has always been something I was looking forward to. Today is the day I realized I am now in that position. I get to go to work whenever I want, and as much as I want (which is all the time.)
This is awesome! I get to create and design cool things with exotic materials and get to really put my abilities to the test. For design, heat transfer, energy efficiency, and compound extraction, among other fun things. And all this on a daily basis. I think I have just come to the unexpected realization that I have created myself my own dream job. I can hardly believe how cool this is when Î think of all the cool things in the works, as well as the unknown ones in the future.
I look forward to the continued development of this project as it evolves into a community developed project. So to emphasize again.... All thoughts and feedback are welcomed into the collective.
Cheers,
George
Some of us sadly are in places in the U.S. where sharing VapCap stuff on facebook could cost someone a lot. I'd love to help in this way, but have to stick to word of mouth, this forum, and reddit basically for promoting this amazing vap(e).
On a different note and not to George in particular at all but more to the public (I know double posting is against the rules):
I do feel I get more convection (airflow) since I accidentally melted my glass tip with an overpowered torch. I used a Blazer Big Shot GT-something thousand to clean my ceramic screen and oven area and it's just not the proper tool for the job! I don't reccomend this at all as its now even more difficult to get my ceramic screen in place. I did notice a lot of people taking about how their OG was very restricted, so I wanted to say this. I might post pics later if anyone cares to show the deformity. I'd speculate its 20% more flow since the deformity I caused by user accident a few weeks ago. I don't yet have a torch lighter (believe or not). So the BIC I had was too sooty to use to clean the screen, my method worked but cause bowing of one "side" of the glass oven area.
On another note, I have been using my VC more and abandoned electric portables for the time being. I don't want to single out any vapes, but the reliability of electric vapes and difficulty of cleaning some were just a pain, even with my limited use of a portable. I just didn't have luck with 3 different electric portables in terms of reliability.
I'm planning a 100 day hike in a bit shy of a year (USA, one of the triple crown hikes), and a VC (either OV or Ti woody probably with OG as backup) will be my vapes. I hope storage tubes/DynaStash for XL and and maybe an OV XL will be in the works I really trust my VC and some of my other vapes have let me down on hikes (not even getting wet or dropped). I still haven't made my final decision on my next VC but I doubt I will be let down. If anyone has VC backpacking/hiking experience let me know. I'm particularly interested in saving fuel/combining lighter fluid/camp stove/lighter stuff. Every gram counts!
I wanted to post a pic of some ghetto engineering I did that turned out much better than anticipated with my OG. I have a 510 drip tip made of silicone, and I'm going to sell the vape that I was using it for, so I thought of alternative uses. I only really use my UD and my VC, so I had this idea to Frankenstein a fat tip with the drip tip. I was jealous hearing of the TiWoody people with the XL length.
I use carb closed 99% of the time, especially since the oven glass deformity.
Although I still have have only a regular condenser, I extended the VC ~1.5cm with this little mod. This is a silicone drip tip from ebay, I think like $2-4. I started by carving an attempted "expanded circle" in the mouthpiece opening tip. I used a mora companion knife , and it was sloppy looking and didnt make a good enough seal for me (tested by taking cap off and covering oven end and carb and inhaling). I had the idea to cut the end off like someone suggested for increased water piece milking. I used scissors and it worked great although its not that sexy. I only had leatherman style CS tiny scissors, I bet larger scissors or sharp shears would be better. I can only get the *tiniest* bit of air in while doing the inhale and cover test, less than my 14-18mm adapter for my WP has, for example. I was very surprised how tight the seal was. VC has very little draw resistance so this was important to me. I jammed the 510 tip in there as far as it seemed to want to go to get the best seal.
The vapor IS noticeably a little cooler, although silicone imparts *very* a slight taste, I think it was worth it. This fatty MP was already ISO soaked and kinda stiff, an un soaked/"new" one may perform better or worse as far as seal I'm not sure. I have no desire to take this MP out, the small distance increase makes it feel like the vapor is cooler, and the smaller diameter of the MP makes it feel more natural to take joint or cig like mouth pulls. Vapor amount seems higher but that is likely some sort of illusion/misunderstanding. Hope someone else tries this and it helps them as well!
