"Do you have a copper FMJ? Does it work with IH (Wand)? I also bought a low-temperature cap and I'm thinking which fmj to buy. Steel, silver, copper? To work with IH"
I only use IH. So I found the fmj to be slow to heat, much slower to cool and since I only do 1/2 bowl to maximize flavor, completely irrelevant except for slowing down heat-up time using wasted energy. It also adds weight/bulk that makes the cap more cumbersome. This is also the reason I'm not even gonna try the ball caps, when the convector does the same job with less, faster
I agree with you, but not in everything. I use Hyperdyn, microdoses, and heat before pyrolysis for maximum effect, and even on my quantities, I have to heat twice using Wand. If I use fmj, I heat it once, the roasting is smooth brown, without black. Also add the extra weight of the metal capsules that I use 100% of the time.
If I try to heat it up to pyrolysis without fmj, then the flower burns at the beginning, and then it roasts normally. In general, an increase in thermal mass SMOOTHS out temperature extremes. This is quite clear to me.
But the annoying thing is the increase in mass, the difficulty of removing the cap from the fmj from the tip when it is hot. I don't like the look either. At the same time, the cap always has to be tapped so that it fits snugly to the tip. And yes, the hood doesn't pull when you take a drag.
In general, there are pros and cons.
Maybe someone can tell me where in the USA you can buy a metal FMJ, I searched all the stores, there is nowhere, including the Simrell store.
