Howzit everyone. I've been experimenting with my fmj lately, using a bunch of tips from users here (thanks btw).
I'm currently using a glass beaded stem (no carb) and wooden mouthpiece (both are from highartisan). 18M SS tip with a recently purchased captive cap. Single flame Aomai torch. MTL inhales.
So.......... I set the fmj a little lower on the cap. The edge of the fmj sits a little lower than the edge of the cap (digger side). I changed my aomai from the lowest sustainable setting to the high setting. Spotlight the "S" with the shiny circle just covering it. After the first click, I move my torch up a little (halfway between the top and bottom of fmj) and much closer. I heat this way for about 5 seconds after the second click. The theory being to slow roast the beginning, then superheat the copper at the end, for a higher temp heat retention.
And here's my result......

Using 2 heat-ups gives me better flavor, but single heat extraction gives me more time to squeeze in one more bowl (hehe). I choose 2 bowls.
Edit: Not the same bowl as in the vid, I was just wondering if I qualify for DRC membership (Dark Roast Club).
