Lord of the Sad and Lonely
Hey guys, new here!

Do any of you know anything about getting laser work done on the bottom of my cap? I saw some pictures of folks with beautiful designs but could not figure out where they got it done. Thanks!

They just made a Vapcap video of the 10mm portable water tool I bought from petes. It should arrive Saturday.

Nice, but that thing is HUGE! Check out the much smaller DDave version that works just as well - actually a little better with a VC IMO. I have both.

Believe those are unavailable right now due to the time and effort they take and so much else going on at DV now. Word is that they may be offering some in the future that will be DV's design choices and those may change from time to time.

It has been confirmed that George is at least thinking about a metal water adapter. I believe it was a Ti one being discussed but with the recent introduction of the M stainless steel is also a possibility.

Good to hear, I think that for an adapter steel would be fine to keep the price lower. Ti is cool but not always needed imho.

Just thought I'd mention..I called dynavap as my thick head was having a lil trouble figuring out the omni condenser...

George answered...made me a lil nervous.:uhoh:

He took the time to make sure I had it figured out before I hung up as if I was his buddy...unreal. Hard not to want to give this guy all my money! Not too mention these lil things kick lotsa ass!!!

Seriously top notch CS. They make you feel like your actually part of the fam....

Then again maybe thats the point...maybe we all are?

So it's dry cooler and it works even better? Very cool!

that's very good advice but i've always been a bit impulsive. why change in my old age. :)

i'm a joint guy from waaaaaay back. i've smoked thousands of them. i figure this will be very familiar in no time.

Hahahaha I did the same thing. Got my M first and LOVE IT! Just got my Omni burl in today and I think I love it even more! No buyers remorse here even a little bit... :nope:

In fact I already want an Omni Xl and a more plain XL stash. I am a little paranoid toting around the raw edge stash it's just too pretty.

The dynastash is SUPER convenient if you haven't ordered one yet I would pester Arielle again

@aestheticsnob i was told they would definitely be doing engraving again in the future, but the engraving holds up production of units so was temporarily put on hold til stuff calms down at DynaCave.

No. It's a bubbler. Just much smaller. Doesn't take much water to cool vapor - especially from a VC. It is also virtually leak proof. Don't know that I would carry it in my pocket full, but can easily fill it from water in a glass (or a bottle with wide enough mouth to insert it into - 1 1/2" or so). And, not hard to empty by blowing it out. Don't have a problem with it in pocket or small bag (and never a leak) with the few remaining drops after clearing it out. Water tool on the go FTW!

This little thing rocks with VC, Mi, Mist and even while playing with it on an e-nano. Just need to be able to hook up to 14mm female GonG for use. My soft vinyl VC MP's connect nicely. Sometimes just a bit of air leak, but not hard to fix by pushing it in further (tho maybe a little more difficult to get back out).

They seem to be described as dry coolers throughout the website, though. @DDave, what's the reasoning for not marketing them as bubblers?

Ay yes, how wrong I was.
Somehow thought that the "M" had a condenser ring stop in the mp end just like the other mp's.
There is an x-ring at the end of the mp, but it doesn't stop you from pushing the condenser and the x-ring into the stem a bit and farther into the tip. This will give you a tighter air restriction.

so i just added an omnicocobo (whatever), a dual flame lighter, and extra titanium screens. anything else i need while i'm at it?

Here is a post on all the extras you might want to consider for maintenance of your Vapcap.

Anybody know how long it'll be till we can buy ti omnis? Better yet omni/vong in XL?? Somebody gotta have an idea...

Last I heard the Titanium Omni will become available again in a few weeks and that the Omni XL will be released to the public in the next few months.

It has been confirmed that George is at least thinking about a metal water adapter.

Remember this one anyone? This was one of George's first adventures with VonGs; Vapcap on Glass.

We had been ordering cap engravings as a custom request and the images were provided to the Dynavap team by the buyer, so there are a lot of one ofs but some of the more popular images have been reused by others.

But then, the engraver broke and sales got crazy. So, it all stopped.

I'm sure they will offer them again in a more organized fashion. I LOVE mine!!! I always look at the pretty cap ends when I have a toke. Engravings are lovely way to step up the modular beauty and customization of your Vapcap.

No, I don't think so. They are described as "Vapor Cooler"s. Dry never comes into any description I've seen, as they are designed to be used wet.

Can't speak for @DDave , but I wouldn't market them as bubblers (I don't think the larger ones are marketed as bubblers, either). They do bubble, and I used the term above just to indicate they function well with a little water. They are similar to a few things that have done the same for a few years. Think I still have an old Aqua-Vape around here somewhere - AFIK the original of this type. Ddave's is just a much smaller - and almost as well fuctioning - version.

The good old Aqua Vape - a nice cheap water piece (and one of the only!) circa 2010. Usually used with a whip vape. Connect your whip to the bottom and draw from the top. There are a few holes in that bottom stem that create bubbling when filled with a little water. Notice the stems coming in from each end, so you can lay it down and the water doesn't come out.

I couldn't snag an easy picture of Ddave's because of the way his website is set up. You can see them there, or find them pictured here and there on FC. Mine is actually from an Mi mod kit that came with other adapters.

Yeah, I dunno. I'm not disagreeing with you about the function of them, but the site descriptions absolutely reference using them dry:

An easy way to get cool vapor from your VapCap!
Dry, so it doesn't rob you of flavorful vapor!

18mm Vapor Cooler *DRY* Flavor-Saver Whip Attachment

Like your vapor cool? Tired of losing flavor to water?

Yes, water leaches out flavor.... This dry cooling mod is created to address this by cooling your vapor without leaching any flavor.

***EDIT***
Here we go, I think this explains it:
My friend, no problem.... more pics to follow.

Yes, that cooler can be used with water. But tried it dry and was surprised. Cool and more flavor than when I used water.

My M is out for delivery!!
I'll be at work when it arrives but trying to get off early, haha.

Gunna do a super quick test run if I do get off early before my 2 hour drive...then more testing when I arrive at my destination. Fun fun fun fun!!!

Time to see if the Dynavap is all it's cracked (heh) up to be.

You have a crazy collection girl, are you talking to them sometimes maybe? :p I adore that Damascus VonG!!!

About the engravings... I didn't know they were stopped for the time. I destroyed mine unfortunately and I didn't even have any photos of it before I ruin it. It was the first Yin-Yang design that DV got from me and then I saw it on other cups too, a little enlarged maybe... There was some blackening cause of the heat and some burnt lint that I tried to clean as well and it got worst. It didn't clean well with the green pad for the dishes so I tried removing it with some very fine (2000grit) sandpaper. Due to the fact that the surface wasn't completely flat, this happened before I manage to clean the main part of the engraving. Opened like a can of beans!

CMtNP1D.jpg

I underestimated the abrasiveness of the sandpaper and overestimated the thickness of the cap! :p:lol: RIP Tao cap! :ko: Using the cap from my old woody now and it has even better airflow so not bad after all! :D Already ordered a new cap though, not engraved. I don't think I will engrave any more caps to be honest. While beautiful to look at, I didn't look at it most of the time, just like I don't often look at my Yin Yang tattoo on my back... :p

that Damascus VonG is not mine, unfortunately.

I took the picture from George's post somewhere around last spring/summer when he first began dabbling in VonG ideas.

I wonder if he kept it or if it's living out in the wild somewhere?

Opened like a can of beans!

Regarding my IR sensor cap readings:

Now I', getting about 210c (~410F) clicks up and about 155c (~310F) down :D :D

@VapCap does this sound about right? FEED US INFOZ PLZ :D

P.S I filed down my M grooves a bit and it seems to have improved restriction a bit. I hope so see one of my buddies that also has an M over the next few days to A/B it.

OOOO....K..
So, it seems that my IR sensor needs the tip to be VERY close to it to get a good reading, due to the (too) wide field of view of the sensor. I thought it was close enough, but the temps I was getting didn't make sense, and I couldn't figure out why I was getting SUCH different cap readings depending on heat speed. It's just that some average between actual tip temp and the surrounding view (the induction coil, once it warmed up) was throwing it all off. There was still a large cap temp element in the reading, so it managed to work before, just with other variables involved

After thinking that it's worth investigating, I bent the coil out (and the glass tube + adaptor) and away from the IR sensor, heated the cap separately, and put it up against the sensor - EUREKA! About 200-210c (~420F) clicks up and about 150c (~310F) down. This much MUUUUCH more sense with the camabinoid evaporation temps.

So I filed my adaptor down a bit, and got the cap to rest ON the IR sensor, and it's working as it should now. I need to re-tune the PID a bit, and make a better coil.

Sorry if I caused any head scratching about my temps (specially to my own balding head), glad I'm back on track.

..Now I need to go experiment from scratch :brow::science::leaf::D

Yes, my order is still listed on my card when i'm logged in on their site - order number is also available...i contacted them on their hompage but later also @arielle directly - she is indeed responsive and helpfull, i contacted her 3 times before i ordered regarding shipping policy...

Edit: oh i now see i can contact her through FC directly...i tried it only by mail....i will contact her now per pm...thanks

I teach ESL and your English is far, FAR from being bad.

Strange because I received duplicate confirmation emails, so I was worried I somehow placed two orders. Just give them a little more time and try to contact through other methods as you said. I'm guessing they have a TON of questions and orders to sort through after the 4/20 weekend. One of the downsides to having so many compatible and interchangeable parts. I can't imagine purchasing through their old website now.

Finally i got my tracking info, thanks to Arielle :haw: The 'M' is still waiting for its voyage across the atlantic ocean .

I came across this Thread by accident. I thought i would not need another vape and i was really staunchy not to purchase all the twinkling vapes. 4 weeks ago i was looking around at a local online store and found this beautiful Ti-Woody-S Blackwood, checked it here on FC and was impressed because almost everybody here is praising dynavap to the skies. I bought it and liked it instantly and found myself adding more and more articels to my card during the Sale  But i was able to resist...for the moment ;)

Just combusted for the first time with the OG Glass VapCap

What is the procedure to get rid of the disgusting ashtray after-taste that has been left behind?

The first thing is not to draw further if you become aware of possible combustion....if it's too late, for me it was enough to go ahead and vape further fresh bud to decontaminate :p. Best solution would be to clean glass and condenser thoroughly
