That's a lovely stem that you've made there! What material did you use?

Pretty sure the law requires all lighters to be shipped empty, especially internationally. More then half the lighters I have received in the mail have been filled with butane.

When I've had lighters shipped from China they've always been empty. But the flints obviously are installed, and can spark up well, so it could have been a case of the package being knocked and sparks somehow igniting packaging material, and the fire going from there. Seems unlikely, but if you're shipping thousands of lighters a week, not outside the realms of possibility.

I like the tight fit that the Ti tip has in the M body.
On the other side the fit of the same tip is quite lose on my wooden stems and bodies.
The tip does not fall of while spinning (or will it someday?) but there is not that satisfying snug fit that metal has.

Am I the only one ?

this may be on purpose with the wood to avoid splitting when the metal expands when heated

ah yes, this could be it.
Do you worry about sharing one ti tip with several wooden stems?

I am under the impression that each time I remove the tip the fit gets a little more lose.
true ?

my rh is around 50%

no way I would hold my precious wooden stems over water steam.
I use dynaWAX from time to time.

is it likely to ruin your stems when you change the tip too often?

often = twice a day
I'm kind of anal about this, but I don't switch them around, and only remove them when I clean them. Unfortunately, this results in a larger amount of money being invested in tips and caps for every stem.

What she sd :o besides, everything is finite, eventually disposable, in life. Even life itself.

I mean, “finite”.

What i understand now is that i am not the only one who is worried about the tips fit in the wooden stems...
@nick danger leaves them on and only removes for cleaning
and stark1 has a philiosophy moment telling me that everything is finite.

ok, i get it.
I dont want to degrade the fit on my wooden stems thats all.
And I have a feeling you have to take good care of them but when handling them has a degrading element to it... that worries me.

I want to make a gift to a person who has an M.
No I want to introduce the stoner lego my gifting a VONG.
the person has to switch the one tip he has..

the switching will make the VONG last shorter.

you know what i mean ?
thats sad.

I would love to see SS or TI threads on the inside of the wooden stems. so that the fit stays nice and snug for a loooooong time.
