So much for a "Battery Free World".....

--Actually, I await snail-mail delivery of a Pipes IH

Luckily using an IH or a lighter is not mutually exclusive so you can still run without batteries if you choose to or need to.

I love the VapCaps versatility and the IH adds a whole lot to the experience. But when I need ultra portability my jet lighter is always there :D

Does anyone hit once and leave herb in bowl for later? Am i wasting too much?

My last stash was easy to fully extract in one hit.

However my latest batch takes twice as many hits. So I've been hitting once, enjoying the 2hr ride and then later coming back for the second hit.

The first hit is usually a good balance between energetic and couch lock. The second is usually more couch lock.

I'm going to go further and dump the AVB after the first hit and put it to one side. Then in the evening vape that AVB. That way I can have energy for the day and a nice couch lock effect for the night.

So if you can learn to feather the carb just right, and buy a Ti tip for the M, then practically you have a "manual" Omnivap?

I'm thinking of going for a Nonavong, then later adding an Omni condenser and body. Splits the price into 2 payments. I wish the Omnivap mouthpiece came standard with a taper to fit a 14mm water pipe like my OG though, instead of even needing the vong body. That would make it slimmer, more versatile, and ultimate!

I have a suggestion for you to try, "anhydrous glass" or "ag". (Look that up in your "Funk and Wagnall"). Dry bubbler, sherlock, water tool whatever. When using a bubbler I noticed I lost taste through water. The first rip I did without the bubbler. The glass cools the vapor, and I get good taste throughout the bowl. Doc

Edit: cost nothing to try. Let me know how you like it.

Ah! Ok. Let’s see if I’ve got this :)

1. To adjust airflow I remove the stem from the mouthpiece and condenser (which are connected).

2. I turn the mouthpiece to adjust airflow. That will adjust the condenser and the further the little O ring on the condenser is from the mouthpiece the more airflow. I could see a bit of threading of the condenser here.

3. Once that adjustment is set I place the stem back on and push flush with the mouthpiece

Yay or nay?
Not quite. The further the O ring on the condenser is from the MP, the LESS airflow. Turning the MP counter-clockwise makes the assembly longer, which drives the tapered end of the condenser deeper into the tip, restricting airflow.

Also you don't need to remove it from the stem/body to make the adjustment; just turn the MP in the direction you want to go (clockwise for MORE air, counter-clockwise for LESS air). If when adjusting for LESS air, the MP walks away from the body (this is due to more tension on the condenser o-rings than on the MP o-rings), just make sure you press it all the way back into the body/stem.

That sounds like an idea worth pursuing, though in a slightly different form. I have some experimenting to do with mouth pieces when I get back home.

This.
I love my skelator, but it has not made the torch useless by any stretch.
I use the IH to do sessions with the vapcap. 6-7 hits on one load just a second or two past the click.
Mellow and relaxing just sitting back, press the tip in and it does the work.
The single flame for on the go fun and IMO gets deeper extraction having more control with the flame placement. And I can get to where I want to be in about a minute, even in less then discreet places.

There is absolutely no reason to completely finish a bowl everytime. Take as much as you need and eventually continue later on!

I prefer to finish the bowl whenever I load my Omni as I find the taste to degrade a lot when leaving the partially cooked herb in.

I wish the Omnivap mouthpiece came standard with a taper to fit a 14mm water pipe like my OG though, instead of even needing the vong body.

Or at least to have the options for a 14mm mouthpiece that keeps the adjustable airflow.

I have some experimenting to do with mouth pieces when I get back home.

That's great to hear!

My DynaStash with my Ti Woody S lives in my glove compartment (just like my old dugout did) with a nice little triple torch. I keep it loaded (full) and it often comes out for just one hit and then goes back to return next time I need one. Normally out and about I really only need to take an edge off and am not really looking for a buzz, the the Woody does that for me. With the DS it is all there waiting for me like a silent companion...

Buy a couple, some for friends. They will then buy some, some for their friends. ETC.

In truth we are all going in the opposite direction. Most things I own are battery operated, including my other favorite vapes.

Added: I guess I should say _I_ am going in the other direction, but I think its most of us. So many new technologies that we depend on, like cars and home energy solutions, are going that way that it will be hard to avoid even if we would rather...

A single torch is definitely more accurate for getting to your favorite temp, even if it takes a little longer. That faster heating is why I tend to use a triple when out and about as this is NOT a legal state and I would just as soon get the heating portion over quickly.

I DO keep a single in the glovebox too. TAS has enabled that luxury... ;)

I know this is contrary to the normal but after only 5 or 6 sessions I feel like I want a single torch. I have a double and triple and find the triple warms it too quick and creates hotter vapor as well as less control over the heating accuracy.
I always recommend that newbies use multiple jets until they get the hang of heating the Vapcap successfully.

Once mastered, the ultimate heating comes from a short single jet flame for the prediction it offers.

I use a single jet 80% of the time, a quad for quick heating 10% and the other 10% with my bedside Induction Heater.

What other vape offers such versatility?

perhaps a not so informed question,

but does the VC cap stay scorched after several jet falme burns or can it be cleaned to look clean again?

I really like the scorched look so I won’t be trying to ‘clean’ it. And it helps me tell one end from the other (just kidding!).

But somewhere around here I remember this discussion so somebody should be able to tell you whether or not you can make the cap shiny again. :)

Anybody else a little stubborn about getting Pipes' induction heater?? I bought this to be a butane lighter vape and that's what I want it to do....I've got several battery vapes if I want a battery vape.

except here up north after November using the vapcap while out and about is a fucking chore unless you got a torch you keep toasty

using the Omni/Stash combo nearly everyday, it's become a ritual of sorts...id hate for the partnership to be thwarted with something as simple as weather
@invertedisdead I have a blackwood Omnivong that you can have. It has been sitting in the classifieds untouched for too long. It is longing for the touch of a flame and the essence of herb. Its yours, just shoot me a pm.
Anyone else for my question please ? :) About my omnivong, does it matter (I mean about health) if I received my omni-condenser with scratches on it ? Thanks a lot everybody ! :)

that does not matter, your fine.

A few years ago an aquaintance turned me on to bho. Prior to that i have been burning for about 30+ years. I was hooked on vaping but not necessarily the bho so i went to vaping First i got a graco micro and then i got a v2 for oil and herb, but the build quality was not so great and I was constantly damaging the chambers. Then i got a crafty, due to battery issues traded it in for a mighty. During one of the times it was back at the manufaturer being serviced i picked up a mflb to use during such times but was contantly burning in the mflb .All the while i kept recieving updates from hopper labs reflecting the delays in getting my grasshopper. Along the way i also picked up a firefly 2. Then spent a couple of years using, accessorizing and returning said units for repairs. The grasshopper is always breaking, and i have no trust in the device. The mighty has been very reliable and was my everyday unit but takes a awhile to heat up. The firefly 2 has also been reliable but dont like to stir and i save my abv for green dragon and with the firefly 2 always end up dropping it.

If only i had started out with a dynavap then i would have saved all that time, money and energy for better things. Its by far the easiest and most reliable vap i own. Its the only one i use now. I had 4 dynavaps but recently sold my "M" to a user in need. The other 3 are onmis and i think these are the best machines. The titanium body is the best, its the easiest to spin and easy to find the carb by feel.

Today i recieved a portside from @Pipes. It was sent last week on saturday and took a week to make it to western Pa. I was able to get the tracking number from Paypals website and eagerly followed its trip. Went to the local head shop and found the 3 batteries i needed, put them in, plugged it in and then stuck it in the hole. In about 4 seconds the cap clicked and i had a huge hit of vapor and a big smile. The induction heater is great.

Thanks to all for the great info and tips.

What a story! And I think we can just about all identify as we put away all our other vape purchases and downsize/upgrade to the best of the best...the Vapcap from Dynavap. It’s just the sweetest little thing I’ve ever vaped for my special stash micro-dosing. :)

Wow...your first post! Welcome msdt!

My M came 2 days early! And it even included some candy, puffitup you always crack me up

Next time, send me grape stuff :argh: but I'm not going to complain about free candy.

Back to the vape, I'm pleasantly surprised how small this thing is. I was expecting it to be a little bit wider, but you never know until you actually hold it in your hands.

Haven't gotten to use it yet, either. I just took a dab not too long ago! :rip:

Will report back :)

I hope you're not tired of seeing me around here yet. I did a small collaboration with HeatTechinician on Etsy or known as /u/4n4153x on reddit. This is not a paid promotion however because I have been given nothing from him. This is to keep my reviews unbiased.

The dynavap 'M' is one of my favorite vaporizers this year. However, it doesn't mean that it's perfect. The M holds a tiny amount compared to other vaporizers so if you're looking for a larger session you're going to have to bring a grinder or a container with your herb. With HeatTechnician's 3D case, it allows your Dynavap to always travel with your herb in a simple dugout. If you're interested in this case you have 2 options:

  1. Print one out for yourself with the link below

  2. Order one from HeatTechnician and he'll include magnets on the lid and a funnel for your herb for free!

It stays looking scorched, unfortunately, as it's annodisation (or some similar process), not just a residue building up over the cap. I suppose there may be some way to "reset" it, but I'd guess it'd be complicated. So, learn to love the (dis)coloration.

Alrighty, I've got a couple of sessions in. I took 2 hits on 2 bowls, seems the ABV is pretty consistent throughout the bowl. I have read that 3 or 4 is the max you can take on a bowl?? I'll have to experiment with my own bud and see where I get :)

It seems like there is a couple of clicks on mine when cooling down. I'll probably have to get a smaller torch, my Newport Zero torch is HUGE for this tiny cap!
