Heyo, haven't been by here in a bit. Been using my VCs quite a lot lately. I've got one set up for flower with an SS tip in a cocobolo nonavong stem, works like a charm (i find the SS a little more forgiving with regards to not combusting flower), really like the textured side with the carb & the ease with which it spins in the hand as well.

My other is a bit of a franken vap I use for hash, Ti tip in omni body with standard condenser & wood mouthpiece. I've got the CCD in the top position so that the bowl is the smallest size. I just flatten out a disc of pressed hash & put a small bit of Ti mesh screen on top to keep it in place & avoid gooping up the cap (I've learned from experience there, ha). Sometimes with this setup the 2nd click is so hard that the cap scoots off the tip a bit. I haven't had it go flying yet thankfully, but sometimes a little vapor does escape. Anyone else encountered this? If so any easy fixes? I'm not too worried about it scooting up a little bit, but really don't wanna have a ~390 degree piece of metal flying off the end & landing on me or furniture or something.

The cap must fit very loosely. As long as looseness isn't a goal you could squeeze it a little out of round and that would grab the tip more.

I am more likely to have the other problem where it grabs the tip too hard to easily come off with the magnet, so don't go too far squeezing it.

I've read that it's possible to heat your Vapcap with a Bic lighter, does this "damage" it in anyway or is it really completely safe to use a Bic lighter? I do know it will take longer to heat up, but atleast I won't have to keep looking for fuel.

It is safe to heat your Vapcap in any way you please as long as you respect the click. This will prevent the possibility of combustion and unnecessary wear and tear on your cap.

The Bic works just fine. However, the soft flame of the Bic will take around 30 seconds to heat the Vapcap. Your fingers might get HOT keeping your finger depressed on the trigger.

IMO, the best soft flame solution is either a candle flame or a Zippo lighter. When using a soft flame you can avoid any soot buildup by keeping the cap above the flame. If your cap gets sooty, you are holding it too low to the flame.

I'm waiting for the next sale to hit. I got mine just after the summer sale/insanity, and it's been my co-daily driver along with a Grasshopper -- and IS my driver when the Hopper is down. Anyway, when the sale hits I'm going to pick up an M and a Cocobolo Nonavong XLS. And some spare parts. My regular Nonavong S is great, but I sometimes wish it was a little bit longer during heating (and I have small hands). A lot of that is because I use mine almost exclusively with glass, and it can be a little awkward positioning the Vong in my water pipe. The M is basically just an impulse buy on something that I'm sure will last forever, is inexpensive, and has a stainless tip to mix up with the TI tips on the Nonavongs. It's also a Dynavap I'd never use with glass, so it'd be another way to experience the Dyna vape.

My standard technique is to use a tri or quad butane torch, get the click, and rip it huge. I usually get two solid hits per chamber, and a third "cleanup" hit. I like it a lot. But I'm not really sure about the optimal way to heat it if you're going to hit it like a joint (or whatever). Is a slower, lower heat approach better? The quad-torch super-heater seems like overkill. Do people take multiple draws from a single heating cycle, or do they just take one long, slower hit per click?

I'm also kinda curious about the Omnivaps, but given their price and the fact that I use mine primarily through water, I'm not sure I'll pick one up. At least not before the two other Dynavaps and another Hopper (for backup).

Who am I kidding? It's only a matter of time.

Is the s&b concentrate pad the best way to use concentrates? Where are you guys buying them at?

I prefer the reshaped pads over hemp fiber. The hemp fiber seems sensitive to heat. The taste goes south fast if you over heat. Less so with the pads. And they hold a good sized dab.

I get mine from stortz and bickel. I use them in my mighty as well.

How to Clean a Vapcap.....

There are several ways to go about cleaning your Vapcap. I thought I might post some of the methods we've discussed for the benefit of the new Vapcap owners.

The parts that require cleaning are the tip, CCD screen and the inside of the condenser/mp.

FIRST USE. You should clean your Vapcap before using it to remove any machining residues. To clean your Vapcap before first use, disassemble your Vapcap by first removing the cap and pulling off the tip then using the digger litter to push out the condenser. If you have an Omni, remove the condenser by pulling it out by the mouthpiece. Then pop out your CCD screen by placing your tip opening down on a towel and then pushing the CCD out with the condenser pushing down through the neck. Moisten a Q-Tip with your favorite cleaner and run it through the tip and condenser and both sides of the screens. Rinse with warm water and leave to dry completely before re-assembling.

1. DEEP CLEAN. You can take your Vapcap completely apart, remove the orings and soak your bits in your cleaner of choice. This would be a deep clean approach suitable for times when you have combusted or have a badly soiled Vapcap.

I occasionally do a deep clean using a nontoxic cleanser that does not affect the orings. I mix Zeus Cleanser with very hot water. This mixture is poured into the doob tube that the omni came in. The ti tip, the ti screen and the condenser or Omni condenser/mp is then placed in the doob tube. Shake and then soak for 10 minutes or so. Remove the parts from the doob tube and swab them out with a moist Q-Tip. When no more gunk can be removed and everything is shiny clean, rinse well with clean clear water and leave out to dry completely before re-assembling. Then have a toke to celebrate your good work.

Serious grime might need over night soaking.

you can use ISO to clean your tips and condensers. Don't soak any orings in it. The instructions caution against using ISO because it is flammable. If you rinse and thoroughly dry your Vapcap after cleaning with ISO, you'll be fine.

2. TIP SOAK. The tip can soaked without removing the orings by placing it upside down in a shallow bath of cleaner leaving the neck of the tip and the orings clear of the solution. After the soak, swab the tip out with a moist Q-tip rinse and dry completely.

3. Q- TIP SWAB.
I clean my Vapcaps once every month or two. I use a hemp filter sandwiched between two screens. This keeps the condenser completely free of any tiny particulates and very very clean for a long time. When the flavor goes off I remove the screens and filter, moisten a Q-Tip with cleaner and run it through the tip and condenser and both sides of the screens. After rinsing and drying I place one screen in the bottom of the tip, add a fresh degummed hemp fiber filter and top it off with another screen.

The midsection and wood mouthpieces do not need cleaning. However, wood bodies, stems and mps all benefit from a light coating of hemp oil/beeswax or some other nice wood conditioner. I don't think that the carbon fiber midsections require any special treatment.

4. TORCH THE TIP. You can quickly clean the herb chamber and screen by simply applying your jet lighter to the tip interior and screen. The flame will burn out any debris in no time.

I use the S&B Mighty/Crafty pads, I got them from puffitup.com. They are a great retailer with insanely fast shipping. Use code FC-1 for 15% off your first item.

I also have some Volcano/Plenty pads, they work the same but are bigger. A friend of mine gave those to me.

After 2days continue testing with the Omnivap XL and Nonavong+ss tip, I would say that I really really like the feel when holding Omnivap XL on hand and spinning. It's light weight and long enough, feels so better than holding the M. And the Ti tip is quite different to ss tip. I would prefer single jet torch for the M with ss tip, but I prefer triple jet for the Ti tip. With single jet I can feel that ss tip got heat up slowly and hold the heat longer than Ti tip so it have more puff like 4-5hit/cycle to turn the abv in dark brown color. And if I use triple jet to heat up the ss tip and respect the click, I have 3-5 cycle but the abv only turn yellow. Alternatively I prefer triple jet for the Omnivap, it's heat up very fast and only 2 cycle the abv is dark brown. I would say the ss tip is for session style and the Omnivap is massive 1hitter. I love them both.i will take the m outside work at day time and enjoy the Omnivap at home at night time.
Hey, Im also in HK and enjoying a Vapcap. We may be the only two Hong Kongers on FC. Anyway, welcome :)

Is the s&b concentrate pad the best way to use concentrates?

I have a couple Vapcaps that are dedicated to concentrates like rosin and shatter. One for daytime sativas and the other for heavy hitting nighttime indicas. Both are fitted with a S&B concentrate pad that I reshaped from a disc into a cylinder, then cut the cylinder in half. The result is a pad that fits and fills the herb chamber perfectly. I place my concentrate on top of the pad. This works great.

Is a slower, lower heat approach better? The quad-torch super-heater seems like overkill. Do people take multiple draws from a single heating cycle, or do they just take one long, slower hit per click?
I get about two to three mouthpulled tokes per heating cycle. I go through three heating cycles per load. I'm happy with any number of jets. Quads heat up in a few seconds, which is great. But as I got more comfortable with my Vapcaps and my technique improved, I discovered that the single jet lighters offered more precision.

Whats up VC forum. So I recently went back to vaping herbs from primarily dabbing for years and I have acquired VAS. I picked up the M model and should be receiving it in a couple of days. It will be a travel piece. I wanted to upgrade to a nonavong and spinning mouthpiece. Will a nonavong and spinning mouthpiece fit with the SS components?

Yes, you can do that.

You have two NonaVonG choices that are compatible with the M which has a standard length condenser, which will accommodate a 62mm configuration.

- a 45mm long NonaVonG BODY and a 17mm wood mouthpiece will fit the condenser.
Or
- a 62mm long NonaVonG STEM with no mouthpiece.

Thanks for the info. I do want something with a mouthpiece still so I will probably opt with a 45mm nonavong. I'm excited for the functionality of this little vape.

Ladies & gentleman: we've got him.
Just picked up my Dynavap Cap M an hour ago.
It's al lot smaller than I thought.
To get familiar with the device I just start heating up the device and get use to the clicks.
After the first time I heated up the cap changed color. Now metal it's silver/blue/black. Is this normal??? As recommended I used a torch butane lighter. Starting to get worried and it makes me a bit nervous.
When I come home in about 9 hours finally I can test the vapcap with some traditional Dutch vegetables.
I will keep you guys posted!

Completely normal. Absolutely no need to worry or being nervous! :) The great thing: Every cap gets its own patina. There is no second cap like yours!

I'm planning to get a nonavong sometime to use with water. I do this with my omnivong and the rubber mouthpiece now, which works fine, but I prefer the aesthetic of a solid vong body. I'm wondering if anybody has opinions on SS vs Ti tip through water? I love the Ti tip on my omni, but I'm wondering whether the longer time at temperature of the SS makes it more appropriate when using a bubbler? Anything else I should be considering?
