Prototype Three: "Slim"

Today I completed this third and almost final version of my case. The reduced 20mm thickness fits in pockets much easier and accommodates up to 15mm diameter pieces. I'm hoping to add herb storage when the test tubes I ordered come in. There's a detailed post with more pictures in my thread Winegums' Woodcraft if you want to know more.

I have been following the progress on your Dynastash. Think you have a winner!!

"M" tip mod sounds great! it might give me that little bit extra I'm seeking for in my vapcap! Going to trust the FC crowd and give it a try asap. Thanks for the Tip "tip" all! clear photos of the 2 tips in comparison and the mod can be found in the Best of thread!! Very swell

EDIT: so not having a file on hand , I thought; what about lifting cap just a tad from the tip to let the air channels complete the job. Glad I did ! Although Not sure if a good idea or recommended to do so regularly... Pros and cons from my experience: took longer to heat up, vape on 1st cycle was what i usually get from my 2nd cycle, overall unit gets hotter / risk of Combustion on further cycles :D it took a bit longer but I got there faster

SECOND EDIT : lol . Upon further study , I noticed lifting the cap a tad from the tip helps more air come through the channels being the cap does not sit so close to the 2nd fin / rib of the tip. The 1st fin is channeled to permit air coming in.

More air intake combined with letting channels breath at top of the oven reminds me of a "choke" on an engine.

Just got a new dynavap. So far I love it. I was trying to find a vaporizer that conserves herb as much as possible. My Boundless CFX is great, but it bakes my herb and I end up using 3X's more than smoking a bowl.

Thanks to this site, I found the dynavap. It works great, the hits are amazing. And a small amount of herb lasts me 4-5 good hits, just about as efficient as smoking a bowl.

Only drawback is controlling the temperature. I use a single flame jet lighter which works well. However, I do notice my ABV herb varies in color from light brown to black. Yes, one time I combusted in the dynavap. I guess I heated it too close to the bottom of the cap? Can anyone comment on combustion in the dynavap?

Overall, it's a great vaporizer!!

Be a nice added touch to put your logo on the case @Winegums. :D:2c:

TURQUOISE inlay, later?:D
Logo?

I haven't even thought of a logo or a brand. For the knives that I have made I've always etched my initials into the blade, but I haven't done anything to my wood working products. I may have to make that touch mark I've been thinking about for a while. Which means I get to fire up my forge. :D

Inlay and engraving are something I really want to learn and these cases make a perfect surface for doing some of that. I've done some work with metal chasing so that might also be something I will try. The cost would be high though, such fine work is time consuming.:worms:

How far away do you think you are from having stashes for sale? I like your side loading design quite a bit......

Pop Quiz @stark1 but first appreciation: love this pic, especially Moose just hanging. Very relaxing.
Tense Whisper: Now high-pressure round. Keep in mind if you answer correctly, you win nothing!

Question 1) what is the large magnetic disc to the left of your bubbler? I found one while walking the dogs once. Have always wondered. Besides a VC stand of course. Please don't let that be your answer.

Question 2) of the 4 pictured, which is your favourite lighter for VC usage? If @KidFated. came round & said, "I need 3 lighters but you'll never see them again so keep your favourite one." what do you do?

Thanks for playing and for posting!

I'd estimate about 2 weeks? There's still some things to work out like herb storage and rattling on the storage side. I ordered magnets and test tubes only yesterday so I'll be waiting a little while for them to arrive.

Great construction but perhaps you should invest some time in end design? Guess less sharp edges, a more rounded shape and much more smooth edges would let it shine more sexy, more as a worry stone and let it be more resistant against chunkings and dents!?
And perhaps some more amazing kinds of wood?

You can pay a few more bucks and find a set via Amazon prime if you don't want to wait....
Hey, I'm in no hurry. It's not like I have no other vape, or even vapcap to hit in the meantime. I kinda like the Ms as they are, but I don't mind throwing $3 at a little more airflow. And I'll probably get some other uses out of the files over time, but even if I don't, $3 don't hurt much.

So I finally had the opportunity to try the M today, had only one bowl that I heated like 4-5 times with a single flame torch lighter. I felt high but it was a different high I am used to when I smoke, it felt "lighter" and was more of a buzz than really being high (don't know how to describe it, hope I make sense).

I'm not sure I did it right, this being my first vaporizer, I think I can improve my technique.
Gonna light it again tonight, we'll see how it goes this time! :D
