I’m really digging this Zippo brand brass shell with a Zippo single (they also make a double) torch insert. It’s running really well on quality butane and behaving really well with my out and about caps. Will it be short lived? Though a bit small in the hand I’d like it to be my go to out of the house torch.

I had this stem before, minus the skull ofc, i called it "The Blowie". unfortunately it fell on the floor, it cools the vapor for sureA Covid-19 rig. Muah

Well tickle me with a DynaVap! I got my 7 fin and goodie box today! Shipped 12/08 via USPS 2 day and arrived today 12/24 (distance be damned...as I am located NOT very far from the shipper).

I have the same insert. Been using it almost daily since the beginning of May. Works juuuuuust fine with my OG '17M. I fill it up like every 4th day.
Speaking of my '17M, I have decided that I need to upgrade(as well as pick up a C-Vap to gift out to a worthy soul
).I have the aforementioned M, as well as a SS tip(and cap, which are currently on a beaten and battered DDave water wand) purchased mid August 2018.
I am torn between the 3 low(ER) cost options available on the Dynavap website. There is the Ti hydravong(with whatever current version of the Ti tip), the BB3 with 2020 SS tip(and regular cap), or the 2020M with the captive cap.
On the Hydravong, I have never used a Ti tip, so don't know if I am missing something, but I know that I am slow to respond to the click on occasion(which I read is bad), so do I want that? Also, I have WP needs covered, so the stem would be kind of moot.
The BB3 seems simple enough, though I would need a fat mouthpiece, as I only use a glass stem at home with a dry water piece, and my stem is 14mm(although, again, I have these needs covered).
The 2020M? Well, who doesn't love an M? But I keep reading mixed reviews about the captive cap, and the new tip.
Then again, there is also the DDave combo with stem/cap/tip/water piece for $50ish dollars.....
What to do, what to do....
Suggestions?

Love the Simrell stem with the Stinger and 7 fin. Hot rod BABY! I’d love a dark green Flite to pair it with. Super envious. I just keep missing the boat some how. I’ve been on the FD list since last October 2019 and I just spaced on the drop for the Flite. Fingers crossed for one in the new year.

I see, to be honest I don't know too much about how stainless steel is made and if there would be a variance of the metals composing it from one cap to another. Definitely not during the same production year but could 2018 caps or older potentially have more iron like TommyDee suggested.
I do agree that there are way more variables than the cap but the loose captive cap is kinda obnoxious compared to a snug non-captive cap. I get too much airflow from the 2020M with its captive cap, even with the airport fully sealed. Though I feel like using a triple-torch lighter compared to an IH kind of bypasses this problem due to the quick heat time.

thanks for those videos. So informative and makes me already second guess what I said during the first paragraph. I did not know that Induction Heaters could have variances in voltage like that just from the cap. Now I see why the torch may work better for my OG 2020M cap.

do you find the intercooler makes the vapor more turbulent, causing the stems to get more resin reclaim/dirty on them
compared to using a standard condesor Dynavap style??
my wooden vortex(s) seems to get pretty dirty, and harder to clean the inside wood area.
starting to not like the wood vortex as much with the inter cooler because of this. Having to fiddle with pipe cleaners and such.
I love the standard Ti version becasuse I can just throw the whole stem in some ISO.

The captive is a totally different beast and I'm sure it behaves differently (I never tried it). I'm referring to the classic non-captive, non-lowtemp caps. As I said, I own several of them which I collected within about 2½ or 3 years. They actually did change over the years and it's easy to tell them apart by just looking at them. But when it comes to actual performance, they are very close – anything else wouldn't make much sense I guess. On the other hand each cap is its own beast – it will deliver the same result, but might have a louder second click, two clicks being very close timewise, only one audible click etc. But (again: classic) caps being hotter than others or anything in that regard is something that at least I have never experienced.

It's part of the reason I've been reaching for it less and less.I don't want my cannabinoids sticking to anything but the alveoli in my lungs. I may be completely wrong and the goop on the Vortex is crap I don't want in my lungs. Anyone know?
I just hate NEEDING to clean it so often. Seriously, I'll literally have stuff dripping out of the mouthpiece end and getting on my hands while torch heating. Then it'll get on my lips and teeth all sticky. Pain in the ass. And that's after like maybe 15-20 bowls. For me, that might be noon. I ain't cleaning anything twice a day unless I combust.

When testing this I only used an induction heater so take that into consideration with potential voltage difference per cap. This is also 2018 non-captive cap vs 2020 captive cap. The non-captive and captive cap on my Omni both hit perfectly. The non-captive on the 2020 M hits like a beast with clouds just as dense as the Omni. When using the 2020M with the captive cap it just feels as if I am using a low temp cap. The hits are way lighter and for some reason this means I have an affinity for combusting accidentally when going too far beyond click/forgetting if it clicked

Also I just tested the 2020M w/captive cap and a Tri-torch and it worked great. The problem must be my IH voltage then. Though the titanium vs stainless steel tips really made a big difference too with each cap.
Hope this helps anyone when considering the 2020M.

You probably use yours more then I do. I like the vortex part comes out easy with tweezers, and I wipe it off with ISO, run a pipe cleaner and or QTip down the middle tube, and I’m done, no orings to deal with. Same thing with my wood vortex, it’s metal lined.
As far as what sticks to the twisty vortex insert... I’d rather have those particles there, then getting to my mouth and lungs, filters a bit, like going through water. Just my experience....
