I'm using my 'green grenade' into a bong, with an o'ring* I got from a specialist o'ring seller here in the UK. Works well and thanks to the guy who recommended doing that a couple of pages back.

Mine also has a couple of tiny spots of bare metal appearing after a week's use, although it did drop onto a laminated floor once.

* Same Industry # 112 o'ring as used in the Assassin = 3/8” ID 1/2”OD 1/16” Width.

I picked these up for less than 3 bucks.

This is a great hack.

Here is my green grenade...it started to lose its colour within days, a week in and it looked shit so I spent 20mins removing all the high spots using the digger outer on an old cap. Came up quite nice imo, much better than patchy shite it was before.

It goes imo from best till last, shellshock, vortex and then omni. I have removed the condenser from the shellshock and put in the intercooler from the vortex, not sure it’s necessary but I found the shellshock condenser to thin for a qtip to shove up it making it a pain too clean. Using this set up with a ‘20 tip and on old cap I get massive flavourful clouds that are smooth as you like.6D14F998-5651-498C-AF41-68FB840D8D2E.jpeg

Got to try out my Dynavap with the Mag Heater Slim.

WOW!

I already have a Portside Mini and enjoy it for Dynavap - already a world of difference compared to torch.

But the Mag Heater??

Really a level up. Temperature control Dynavap is amazing and I was able to get over a dozen hits from temperature stepping. Never have I gotten such a great terpene profile from the Dyna!

Highly recommend. It's almost a world of difference coming from the PSM. Big money though..

hmm, is it only the green version that loses its paint?

Anyhow, here's my review of the shellshock stem after its first session at home:

🙃

Probably any color other than the silver SS. IDK if the rainbow is an added color or the result of a heating process to season the metal.
Yeah, I'm not too kean on a stem that might look like shit in a couple weeks. I do have stems that I baby, like my wood stems. But I get metal for the durability and that is going to be an issue for me.

That's disappointing with the paint coming off. I have one in rainbow and it's not a coating. The rest will probably suffer from this. Perhaps even the exclusive Rhodium coated one.

I had a customer report issues on the army green but I have not seen any pics here. Maybe I didn't look far back enough. I heard of an issue when they launched and at that point I did some testing myself. I threw mine against a brick and didn't see any issue so this is interesting to me.

I sure hope my matte black won't have this issue. Nice sales buddy.

You guys should go check out Scott! Excellent deals. Locals get free shipping which I'm so jealous of. International is pretty affordable too. I annoyed the hell outta the guy and he still sorted me out perfectly. Much thanks buddy! Will always be a fan!

The plating process is slightly different with the green but that is just it. I have not been able to replicate it and have not found a good source to examine.

Thx for your kind words!

Paint directly on stainless steel. Is that even a good idea?
Is that what the process is?

The green unit looks like a paint dip and post machine process rather than anodize.
It's SS so it's not anodizing but there are plenty of other processes used in vaporizers and accessories that are safe for use. I still want to see what this is all about because I can't get my green one to scratch a bit and that is with rough treatment and a fair amount of use.

It also could be a single defect to one or a small amount of units. Hundreds of green ones have been sent out and I only saw one pic with a mark that I simply could not replicate myself.

Don't misunderstand my query @VGOODIEZ - I'm thinking of how problematic it normally is to paint stainless steel with some serious pre-cleaning and primers or surface treatments. Powdercoat is probably the closest thing to plausible for this type of operation. The post machining is hard on adhesion and may be making chips that are poorly attached.

Maybe we have some metal finishers here that can chime in.

Paint! — No,
that can’t be! Altho the green looked a tad off, that’s why I choked when I saw the multi-colored rainbow.

I YUM! reddy for that Turk-, UMM, duck!

Happy Duck-y Day, Everyone! Roast that duck, donny!
Remember, the Pilgrims had squat that 1st Winter.

I am no connoisseur, but a minor change may be nice: mouthpiece should be flared a bit, or slightly elongated, so it is less likely to slip off from one’s lips
When baked—or biking downhill. YMMV :spliff:

Otherwise, I am a fanboy, and shell shocked. It’s bombproof, AF.

Could well be paint, it’s scraped off really easily in about 20mins. When I started it I scratched the metal underneath slightly so I went a bit gentler and it took off the green without any scratching. I can’t get a picture that does it justice, in my hand it looks awesome, not so much in my pic. Whatever it is it’s not bonded to the metal at all so maybe it was dipped in some green paint/solvent type stuff?
Tbh for the price of it, and the fact it hits me like fucking hammer I’m not to bothered about the green coming off, I was a little concerned about where it was going when it started, hence why I removed as much as possible. If the bits that are left start chipping then I’ll remove it all. It needed a really good clean the paint? gets everywhere but came up shiny and new looking.

Dynavap says $7 off International shipping but the shipping rate is the SAME rate. It just says $7 is deducted but amount is the same from before the sale.

Seriously?
I sent an email and was given a code to use for the $7 off shipping. I bought a cap Pack and a Ti Tip. $96 all in with shipping. Not bad.

I have a ShellShock on the way although it's still on pre shipment after 3 days. The Dynavap order should reach me before the VGoodiez one.

Since I have an extra Tip and Caps now, can I just buy a 8mm inner diameter tube to be used as stem? Glass and SS?

Wanted to post up the Limited Edition Rhodium Plated Shell-Shock Stem package. Can't believe I got all this for less than $80.

Case is leather, smells great. It is a thick sturdy case. Got a bandana. a no contact door opening tool, and a bullet tipped paracord. They gave me an extra ovalized tip to change out with the round one and some spare o-rings. I am interested in this oval tip, haven't tried it yet but believing it will be a nicer lip feel.

Like your after shock kit! The oval is a mouth piece?

You are ready for the coming Eve of Destruction! I can almost feel the tremors coming....

PS is the bundle available to field members, or is it a special for staff members only. It’s so kwool!

While the FORM (paint) may not be 100% on some versions, IMHO FUNCTION wise, it is spot on.

So: FUNCTION / FORM, a big two thumbs up! :2c::tup::spliff:

The green one reminds me of WWII pineapple grenades

While this issue might not directly affect function, which I agree is great, paint shouldn't be coming off of brand new products. Function over form, sure. But when form is (in part) failing, as is the case with some of these stems, it affects the objective quality of a product (i.e. a stem suffering from this issue) as a whole.
