It IS a curious matter. On the one hand, I can see George's "It ain't about the Benjamins" attitude, so he'll let others fuel the fire of the IH craze. Maybe be has a broader plan, though ... one where he develops an IH-specifc DV, with a radically different design (say, a flat shallow bowl instead of a deep-dish one ... more "pipe-like" than "cigarette-like") and then designs a unique IH, say, with narrow I.D. oval coils instead of round coils (I have no idea if such parameters would even be feasible?), that would be matched to the new bowl design. I'm just making stuff up in my head,of course ... but who knows what goes on in HIS head!? He could be watching all the progress on the "small, portable, temperature-monitored", adjustable" designs for IHs that are being discussed and evolving and waiting to design a real kick-ass "Baby Heater" some day ... with wide adjust-ability so he can call it ... not the Flux, nor Flix, but ...the " Flex" (flexible behavior) ... yes, you heard it here first! " Mark my words!"
In addition to IHs, there's glass stems, wood stems, cases, magnet stands, etc ... endless accessories that Dynavap could be profiting from ... but they prefer to let other companies take that market share. It's kinda' nice to see them stick with one thing and concentrate on maintaining quality (and occasional design upgrades) instead of losing focus and becoming overly diversified with un-managed growth. The more "goodies" that others make for Dynavaps, the more Dynavaps people will need to go with them ... so he still wins in the end. Is that his strategy, or does he just like to share and not be greedy? Maybe both.
