But beware: they are not flame polished on the interior. :-)

Seriously: blaming Dynavap for lack of quality is just odd. I mean those things (okay: most of them) last a lifetime, so c'mon. :-)

Ahhhh......I never heard about those as I rarely visit their site and have not spent much time here lately. But....with the wording... "heavily nano fumed in pure silver". I would run from that glass piece.

@RogueGuy has a great collection of glass stems for the vapcap tips, That I swear by!

This one's my fav. The "2mm xl stem".

Not to demean Rogue for his efforts....and I use one of his stems too.....but I do not see the benefit of using that glass body with the metal condenser. Seems to defeat the purpose of a glass body unless the vapor path is also glass. It is like you are just making a much lessor of a stem by making it so feeble with glass when you can just use other non glass bodies that are much stronger and take usage better.

I wonder if you can even tell the difference in taste with the glass outer and metal condenser compared to a metal body? I do recall being able to taste the wood with my first vapcap..a Ti blackwood vong. After that...i ditched it and just made my own glass body with no condenser.

not being polished on the inside potentially means more wear on o-rings and a porous surface is not as easy to clean ... glass should be polished imho .. it just looks and feels cleaner, which is what ppl usually look for in glass ... but i assume there were technical difficulties here because of the complexity of the coloring

as to lack of quality they seem to have more and more QC issues with the increased production rate judging from what i see here and on reddit

dang...talk about totally off topic...lol

What thread is this again? DIY.....TinyMight....APOLLO.....im lost....

What is the product that dynavap makes which is called a "galaxy glass stem" ?

And I think you mean to say.....I just believe they're not that good of.......correct?

Also, the precious metal bodies.......they are probably pretty limited production and are also just accessories..not the main vape and you do not need to buy one if you do not want to. So I do not see how they are "gouging" on that item. It's an artisan accessory and those products are always valued in the eye of the beholder.....just like the $1000+ pieces of glass out there or even one of the many 3rd party vapcap stems.

I do not believe that dynavap has to inviolate what they produce right now...why...they work awesome. The vapcap is not lost in quality because of tech or age. If so...what other product is directly comparable or is even pushing that design?

What type of product or innovation are you looking for from Dynavap?

considering the worth of materials and means of production used ... they do seem overpriced ... but i think that's actually a good thing because it makes them ez money from whales and leaves enough room for other makers in the community to come up with something nice and pricey as well

i feel like they should have offered something more simple and reasonable in silver for us poor peasants as well tho ...

I would also like to see a glass condenser for the glass stems like the original dynavap back in the day. But that's really more just for aesthetics.

If we use a glass condenser in a glass stem, why even use the glass condenser to begin with? lol ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

As for looking nice and sharp, my
NonaVong XLS with titanium spinning mouthpiece and dark wood stem is my favorite. But as for daily driver functionality, I always go to the glass too!

@LabPong How Dare You? Just kidding. I totally agree. It seems for the most part that a stem with a condenser is merely window dressing. There is some vapor stem contact but I would assume its minimal. I use the said stem without full condenser.

I do however prefer the 2mmxl over a standard DV stem for its look and hand feel.

@thejackalsmark - The condenser also manages the outer body's heat by directing the hot air through the condenser. To what extent, I don't know. But the tech is pretty clear.

That's true. Great point!

Danm, now I'll have to characterize that too.

Here's another great setup for that stem using a titanium nectar collector tip, repurposed as a mouthpiece. Partial mini condenser and still open stem that you can see the vapor flow through. (This setup was what @RogueGuy was referring to.)

Best of Both Worlds!

From what I've just been researching it's a technique that has been done for centuries and is actually very safe. The silver fuming takes place when the glass is still molt, so the particles will sink into the glass.

Safe for the user not the glassblower lol. Those fumes will give you metal fume fever with no problem. I dont think they do it while it's molten they just want a surface coat of the metal atoms to diffract the light and they won't escape without being heated extremely.

@AcidFlashbang – You don't explain in what way fumed glass is unsafe.
I never said fumed glass is unsafe I said that fuming it can be if done incorrectly. But I was also saying how on borosilicate glass the fumes only form a surface layer, not that that's a concern because silver doesn't even melt until ~980° C at standard pressure

Potentially being the operative word. O-rings are pretty tough. It could mean potentially no difference or potentially less wear because the o-ring doesn't need to be as compressed to hold properly, potentally. Regardless o-rings are around $3.00 a hundred.

The thing about an exclusive item is that it is exclusive. The M is very reasonable and silver in color at least, you can get super exotic titanium at a an affordable price. First world problems, let them eat cake.

I'm hoping for a new omni model....

Ok and what are you hoping this new model offers that the existing model does not?

link pls ... because dynavap sells them for 1$ each ...
regardless ... my point about ground vs polished glass stands ... the polished looks/feels better and is easier to clean

but i already have that stuff ... kinda wanted some silver shit too ... guess i'll have to make my own because dynavap wants to sell exclusive crap ... exclusive ... gimme a break lol for the sake of being exclusive

off the top of my head a better airport design, maybe a wider condenser for better airflow

George even acknowledged that you'll need to keep the o rings well lubricated on the announcement stream. It's just a corner cut to make the profit margin higher

One can make ANY 62mm stem with a carb into an "Omni".
If you want to be pedantic you can at least bother yourself to be correct. The stem is very clearly sold as an omni stem. They dont market the new silver pieces as omni stems so it is a specific design.
