Right, but how do you know the silver colored ones are actually ss and not aluminum or something else? Or am I being paranoid about a nonexistent issue? Are there other ones than SS, brass and ti?
The difference of ss and brass is obviously.
And if you buy ss you probably don't get ti.
I agree, kind of scary not knowing 100% what the make up is of the thing reaching high temperatures and getting the most vapor path contact of any part of your assembly.Right, but how do you know the silver colored ones are actually ss and not aluminum or something else? I thought both aluminum and SS were fair game. My understanding is that you stay away from the gold colored ones as those are the ones that offgas. I get my SS screens from ebay sellers who say they are made of SS. If theyre lying, oh well, then its aluminum (I doubt theyre lying though). You inhale far more toxic things living in a valley walking down a street with heavy traffic. Most drinking water and food contains trace amoumts of aluminum as its naturally occurring in soil.Right, but how do you know the silver colored ones are actually ss and not aluminum or something else? First, just to say that I am not skilled, but happens to have a few tools and a place to do my bits with nice music.
What I use ( always more than one way to do the same thing):
1. Drill and N°4, N6 and N8 drillers.
2. Something to fix the wood to a working table in order to drill the hole.
3.wood files, N 60, 120 and 240.
4. Good knife.
1. First I fix the wood to the working table.
2. Drill the hole, first the thin driller N4, then N6, then N8: less risk to break it.
3. Figure out something to attach the wood to the drill. I have used what you can see in the picture. This way the drill acts as a turn and can easily aply to the wood files while rotating. The result will be axis centered.
Make 45mm long to be used with standard condensers, or make any length you like to be used without it.
The result will not be perfect, but will be very rewarding and unique.
@London Vaper the mesh screen I used was too fine and blocked easily with use.
I keep my tongue in the way to stop any kief hitting my throat when I vacuum a load into the bowl.
@Daprezz my Shadow cap is now a grey colour. It's only been used with an IH so I can tell where the majority of the heat is applied.
@Chandler I've run low temp bowls in the past and I agree tasty hits. As good if not better than other vapes I've used.
I stopped using hemp as I found it had an unpleasant taste when pushing for the last hit.
Muji organic cotton pads which I cut into strips and wrap around any concentrate or kief. No nasty taste.
Or 4 different concentrates in this case.
To take that to an extreme hyperbole, sometimes we breath in radon, so we shouldn’t worry about staying away from radioactive substances. We inhale smoke each day, so why bother saying fuck combustion?I thought both aluminum and SS were fair game... 1. That looks amazing.I stopped using hemp as I found it had an unpleasant taste when pushing for the last hit.

I've seen you mention this recently. @Squiby, you enjoy your setup, so i assume you don't have this issue?I stopped using hemp as I found it had an unpleasant taste when pushing for the last hit.
About to look that up. Do you use a new piece every session, or use up one piece until it's soiled?... Iink?Muji organic cotton

I don't use degummed hemp fiber to vape concentrates, I use it to filter plant matter from entering the air path, so I haven't found this to be an issue. I change my filter whenever the taste goes off.I've seen you mention this recently. @Squiby, you enjoy your setup, so i assume you don't have this issue?
Wot! No more artichokes in Castro Valley! No wonder they are $2.89 here!
I feel like I have terpenes stuck in the back of my throat. Every time I swallow, like saliva for example, I can taste the same rich terpenes from pineapple express. It's interesting and weird.

I experience this too. Strong flavor in the back of my throat upon swallowing. Doesn't last long for me though - only a few swallows. Figured it was just residual vapor taste from inhaling.
