I might try soaking it in iso for 5-10 minutes.
then rinse out with soapy warm water, no biggy

but I digress, neglected my VC's over the log lately, decided to fire up another round of some glass wands and water, cruising altitude is around a 9 right now, by over heating well past the click, two rounds gone without combusting, I cant remember the last time I clouded up my showerhead like that, and reminds me how much I love these lil caps..

@SaturnIII try coconut milk. Has fat content to absorb the the burnt smell. (I do not know if this how it works, just that it works for me.)
Alcohol will not hurt the cap, (it's all stainless steel). The reason you do not want to do so, is you have to remove the alcohol to keep from com-busting it in use. Might singe your nose hairs.
Soak over night in coconut milk. Rinse, repeat using warm water, let dry for a day, or use a hair dryer. Do at least 4 or 5 heat to clicks. Good luck, hope it works for you. Doc

Thanks guys, dynalowrider sorry I had done the alcohol soak before I saw your post. I’ll keep that in mind for future cleanings.

The alcohol soak, did get rid of the odor. The smell is out of everything but the O-Rings. I have the new grey o-rings that I saw on a dynavap video George saying they were iso alcohol soak safe. I’ll wait till the next tear down because I had cleaned them with dish detergent before I saw that video.

Without dynalube on hand, that middle o-ring on the condenser was a bugger to get installed in the body without moving it from its spot on the condenser. Anyway she vapes like a champ again, though the taste has gone away a little. Those stinky o-rings cause that??

There should be a way to adjust how deep you insert VC into IH coil, this can make huge difference
Also counting a couple of 1000 after click helps

I get same even roast as with torch every time

I tried every possible workaround in the couple months after getting it but I just prefer using a torch.
Even when I could get an even roast I couldn't get single hit full extraction (or better, I could if going too close to combustion for my likings) as with a torch and considering my vaping needs this killed the deal.
I'll have them hitting classifieds as soon as I can take some decent picture.

You picked the wrong vape for that. There are so many VAS rabbit holes you can go down with the vapcap.

In my case it was the beginning of the end for my VAS.
I'm so happy with one VC tip for my bubbler, one Omnivap for the outdoors and a small, inexpensive battery powered vape for stealth needs that I'm going to sell all my other gear.

Hello all,

I've got a query about induction heaters. . Do the ones people are buying and making (like Pips IH) need supervised charging, and require you to keep an eye on battery voltage while using so as not to over-discharge?

In a spur of the moment I purchased one of the IHs being made out there, (when really I'd been planning my own based on Pipes's thread) and it's been a fucking pain in the arse. Seller didn't tell me about monitoring battery so I broke it, bought a new one and the charger broke, waiting for new charger the battery drained itself dead inside the IH, while un-used on the shelf. . .

Is this the un-sung pain of home made IH or did I buy the wrong one?

Cheers

So glad I went with 2 of Pipes IH's......a jarhead and skeletor......over a year ago and both are rocking solid still. I hear about the issues with the many cheaper alternatives.....and I am so glad I got Pipes units from the start. So solid and no issues with charging or using.

What I HOPE @LabPong meant, is that that pipes IH seem to be fairly robust, and worst case the batteries can be replaced, and he is very sorry you are having trouble with yours.

Haha, thanks for the translation. I'm happy labPong has had such success.

I got to use the IH for half a day when it arrived before the troubles started. And to be honest I was already kind of finding I missed the lighter. But this thing was more £ than pipes, I just jumped as it was spur of the moment and available now. Wish I hadn't really...

Yes, you got it exactly....

Im sort of out of it now.....went on a vacation and came back to get a nasty cold....head feels like a bag of jello....and I am slightly off. Can't even medicate yet....crap. lol

But yes, I feel Pipes heaters are darn solid and even though I recall seeing some minor issues some had with a few of them.....they were not the norm for his work efforts and things were worked out and fixed eaisly. I have not had any problems charging the skeletor or other issues at all.

I just feel that Pipes did a awesome job at making these units and also that the heating of the vapcaps in them works incredibly well. I was wondering if I had to tinker with the height setting to target the heat better....but I have found to not need any adjusting what so ever. They heat perfectly and consistently....Skeletor and Jarhead.

A big thanks to @stark1 and @mucsusn for helping me get an OG omni body and 7 fin ti tip. I missed my old one bad lol.

I am sad that I can't get another 7(flat) fin ti tip tho :(

Come on George!!!

Ok so I love the 7 flat fin ti tip but it's a give and take.... from my experience with my usage....

The 5 rounded fin ti tip has the least air restriction, gives me the biggest clouds but also transfers the most heat to the body and kills the bowl in 1 or 2 heat ups. I feel it gets the hottest... IN MY USAGE.

The 5 flat fin ti tip has less air restriction than the 7 fin, but more than the rounded. Transfers slightly less heat and the bowl last 2 or 3 heat ups. Kind of an in betweener.

The 7 fin ti tip has the most air restriction, but transfers the least amount of heat to the body. The only one I heat passed the click. I feel it doesn't get as hot as quickly. I also feel this one looks the best.

I think if you took the bowl from the 5 fin, rounded, and the rest of the tip from the 7 fin, flat, ti tip it would be perfection.

Air restriction would be excellent and minimal heat would be transferred to the body... plus it would look sweet.

Ok that makes sense cause my caps been in Everclear a few times without problems but I rinsed all the parts including the cap with warm water after they were soaked in Everclear

they say im crazy but i have a good time
I sometimes wonder why the spirals on the VC tips are right justified, or counterclockwise from the top.

Anyone want to speculate? Is it a right handed world?

...you sir must be in the northern hemisphere... they go the opposite direction in the southern hemisphere... :lmao::lol:

...jk,jk... sorry couldn't help myself...

As you may recall, early Ti tips grooves spun the other way. I don't have any pics but there are some here in the thread.

Added: I went back a couple hundred pages looking for that post of tip generations, but so many images have been lost to the imgur debacle that I gave up.

You mean the 3rd Gen? I had often wondered, was it an intended anomaly, if so, how was performance compared to the right handed spiral?

Does it matter?
