Just found a picture about anodised Dynavaps, and the green one seems already doable (and certainly not that hard to obtain)

I find there's no real worthwhile AVB with these babies. I load up as much or as little as I want and inhale all the goodies in 3, maximum 4 (well, 6 or 7 or 8 when I lace my weed with kief :D) heating cycles.

I don't use the ABV, but I do like to have a small container to dump it without having to get up.

Getting up is hard to do....

Well with doing more research, I realized that it can be used to make edibles, this interest me! As I can “kill 2 birds with 1 stone” so to speak

Some people eat it in all different kinds of ways. The cooking thread here on FC has a plethora of ways to use ABV. But edibles generally don't agree with me.

I've made salves and healing creams from ABV, but these days I use cured unvaped bud that has been decarbed in the oven for such things. A garden is a wonderful thing!

Hello!

anyone tried this system with hash already?

Yes I've exclusively been using it with hand rubbed hash (the sticky, gooey dark kind). Initially I was using it directly with a degummed hemp filter, but now have been approximating the traditional smoking mix - except that I substituted the tobacco with Holy Basil and Rose I got from a tea I drink :D

This method allows the hash to be homogeneously crumbled and it then sticks to the botanicals evenly, allowing for a very good vape experience. I do heat sometimes to a second or two beyond the second click. My draws are mostly with the air intake closed sort of like pulling on a joint.

In my experience the quality of high is much more "functional" than a traditional tobacco mix joint, more cerebral, less paranoia, creeps up after a few minutes. YMMV, of course.

What do you guys do with your AVB? I’m thinking of making something to knock mine into and store it :sherlock:
hmmm... this could be pretty great.

a billion percent agree. It’s just easier. I break up the evening enough having to get up for other things. This shouldn’t be one of them.

interesting. I’ve noted some stomach trouble following edibles the last several times also, but assumed it was in my head, or that I’d had too much wine or beer along with them.

unbearably light in the being....
I took advantage of the current drought to give everything a thorough cleaning last night - first time in months, honestly. Once again, I found very little residue in any of them...very little reclaim or buildup of any kind, in total.

This causes me to wonder yet again if I’m doing something wrong. I’ve been using best materials available, and going through maybe a half-dozen tipfulls at a time. Using my Skelly makes it a far more leisurely experience, but I can’t tell if I’m just exceptionally efficient at those (HA!), or am leaving stone on the table, as it were.

My AVB is consistently a uniform medium-dark brown, and combusting a bowl of it (in a pipe, natch) will bring the thunder, after a fashion, when stores run dry. I average 3-5 heats per cap. I haven’t changed a screen since I stopped testing out bowl sizes, and no clogging, they’re clear as new, no buildup under the screen in the throat of the tips, either.

Probably just wishing I was getting greater elevation/mileage from my goods....

And speaking of cleaning: Squiby, dear, how DO you keep those engraved caps so beautifully clean? I only managed to get one, and it’s completely obscured by grime. I’d like to see more of it!

Yes, you're wishing. The tips and caps are sold separately.

Currently the 6th generation titanium tips are for sale as well as the 2nd(?) generation stainless steel tips.

From time to time, engraved caps are made available to make our hearts go pitter patter.

I do love the caps. I have that Sun one and the 4:20 one, but I had to use the 4:20 one for a while so now it's more like that song by Chicago...

Just in case...

I have another 420 cap that has been brutalized and shows it. Of all the engraved caps, it seems that the 420 engraving the least durable. My Tree of Life cap has faired very well, although the pic is better than real life. It's all about how it captures the light.

The cap just falls off.
Are you always supposed to hold it cap up, so it doesn't fall?

The fit of the cap is adjustable.

Place your thumb and forefinger around the cap a the digger outter tab and on the other opposite side and gently but firmly squeeze the cap out of round. Test for fit and repeat it necessary.

You want the cap to grip the tip so it doesn't fall off, but loose enough that it can be removed by a magnet if you have a Dynastash to accompany the Omni.

Wow, that was quick - thanks @Squiby
You know this device as well as George!
Problem though, just squeezed, but the bimetallic disk popped out on the floor.
There're printed letters on one side.
Seems odd, shall I just press it back in? Won't it pop out again?
Sorry for being such a noob.

Edit - don't want you to feel bad for posting the tip. I did squeeze very gently because I feared bending it too much. But the disk came popping out. I've contacted dynavap, and maybe I just got a lemon. It happens

“Gently” is the key word.
Also try squeezing near the digger part, not where the clickers are.

If you can’t put the clickers back, or if they no longer work, contact CS at DV, and explain your problem.
They should be able to sort it out for you.

GL!

PS Do post (large) pics of the disk(s), we would like to see.

In other news, anyone know of any online vendors that might still have an original Omni??? I just saw one and I’m hooked.

Is this an original? I just widened the spiral grooves.
Only takes minutes with a dremel and a steady hand.

Back in the day, the first Omnis were somewhat nondescript grey bodies ( it also came with a glass
body, however ).

Non-descript, but it was Ti, a rarity! :o
