Two questions:
1 - what’s the consequence of vaping without the condenser?
2 - what’s the difference in vapor with conduction vs convection?
I'll answer #1. A quick Google search will answer #2, and it's good information to know.
I've tried this with an '18 M and I didn't really like it. The consequence is a more open air-path and getting your stems or bodies dirty. I wouldn't really recommend it with wood bodies or stems.
I also came closer to combustion more often, just from the increased ability to draw harder. I didn't like the flavor. And my M is my second favorite vape now, behind only my Ti Omni XL.
If you have a titanium or M body or stem give it a shot. You may like it. You won't hurt anything, the stem or body becomes the condenser and you'll have to clean that just like you would the condenser.
It makes a big difference ,while not using a condenser ,if the carb is fully closed (or the stem is carbless ) or if the carb is kept fully open.
Just remember this simple rule :
A condenser -whether is an OMNI or a standard SS / Ti - needs a carb hole and
vice versa in order -for both- to operate properly as a system.
Together they make a pretty sophisticated & compact system ,
that uses the
Bernoulli principle in order to "suck" vapor from tip and at the same time mix it
with cool air. A condenser inside a carbless VapCap stem is of no use.
As also a VapCap without a condenser and a fully open carb hole ,
will mainly deliver pure atmospheric air or when driven by some strong lungs ,
it can aid to combust the load.
Carbless and condenser -less VapCaps deliver massive hits.
I mean some seriously massive hits.
Lots of extraction ,lots of vapor .
But ...
The vapor is rather hot & harsh if not water and/or ice filtered.
This thing as also that you can only draw with " mouth-pulls ",
meaning that you have to create lots of negative pressure at the guts
of the VapCap ,using the facial muscles ,the carbless & condenser-less VapCaps
might be the
best suited vaporizer ever for ex-smokers ,like myself.
From the other hand ,the "normal" VapCaps that use a carb and a condenser,
are delivering super smooth vapor and are best suited for users that might have
sensitive respiratory system (especially sensitive throats ) and enjoy
less massive hits ,but of great smoothness.
Those are the differences, more or less .
No method is better than the other.
It's purely a matter of personal preference .
I have a couple of carbless ti stems from
@stardustsailor that I use without a condenser, and they hit like a truck. Massive hits. Since they are ti, I just clean them like I would a condenser.
No consequence, but a huge benefit for me!
I've found my condenser only ensures I will get a mouthful of resin after a certain time. Always when I'm out and about.
When I use in one of my glass wands (no condenser, no carb), the inner surface area is far larger and the glass itself does not get hot. Meaning I may never get a mouthful of resin no matter how long I wait between cleanings. That's why I designed a wand that is all glass, no condenser or carb, that fits inside a dynastash and also fits a 14mm female water pipe.
I second the comment "hits like a truck"!
Carbless VapCaps do hit like trucks or even trains .
But one has to be ready and be able to withstand such a "collision" .
Cheers.
