Curious -- how many applied and how many were chosen? I didn't apply, just decided to live vicariously through the VCDC crew!
That tip you posted has the shape for CANNABIS?@beyond6strings I was going with the 12-10 as the extra wall thickness would make it a bit stronger.
Mine has a piece of K&S brass tube which is just under 8mm bore.
The glass has a couple of O ring grooves in it so the brass fits properly and it butts up against the back of the tip.
This is why I didn't apply. I'm a lightweight user, and there are many more on the forum that are much more qualified than me to properly evaluate. Love my Vapcaps, but better off for me on the sidelines. This way, I also develop patience...I wonder if the frequency of use was a major determining factor. I bet it was!
The Omni is not better. Just different. Main difference is that the SS tip of the M takes longer to heat up and cool down, which leads to a slightly different experience. More tokes per heating cycle or one larger toke. The Omni furthermore allows you to find your sweet spot concerning air flow and to permanentely keep that setting. You can do this by feathering or partially covering the carbhole on the M, but it will be difficult to always get the same result.
So, in the end, maybe save your money. I had an M first, but would probably not have bought it when I had an Omni as starter. The M is, of course, fantastic if you do not want to take your USD 150+ Omni with you on a trip with the risk of losing it.
Plus there needs to be a few of us left that are just users and "not in the know". Otherwise this forum would not be as useful as a data source. We don't want all the "unaffiliated" to be noobs. This is why I didn't apply. I'm a lightweight user, and there are many more on the forum that are much more qualified than me to properly evaluate. Thank you for the answer. I understand. So the only advantage for the M is for situations I can lose/broke it. But at home between the two, omni is a better experience.
I guess I'll just wait 04/20 and pull the trigger if there's a discount
I know that there are quite some fans of the SS tip out there, but my personal opinion is exactly like your summary.
Just to be clear, you can get the Ti tip without going all the way to the Omni. The Uni, either metal or wood, (Vong or straight) uses the Ti tip as well, and will save you some $70 off the Omni price if you don't feel you need the (set and forget) adjustable airflow of the Omni.Thank you for the answer. Humboldt gold (in an airtight case)?
Deal?
Or you can get one from DV, but seriously, you may want to replace it, before the mojo dissipates...
