Once DV releases their unit pipes demand will drop, cause DV can produce in large numbers and can offer advanced customer service.
So make hay while the sun is shining (hehe, I learned that from watching Saul in Breaking Bad)

you are welcome here. the people here are very friendly.
What makes you think dynavap is such a large company that they can produce them that much faster & keep up with demand any better?

Has DV announced an estimate for the completion date of their induction heater yet?
.

@Fat Freddy As I understand it some prototypes will go out to the Vapcap Development Club members who are being chosen sometime in the near future. I'm not sure how long George and the team want to field test them before making any final alterations to the final product. I do think 4/20 may be pushing it, but the crew has surprised us before.

All I know is they're the coolest device on the planet and have cool accessories already. I've got a Launch Pad coming in a couple of days. It's perfect for my uses.

@fishyjeff, first post & this is your question? OK, you answer 1st. What makes you think that dynavap is such a small company & cannot produce them much faster & that they aren't able to keep up with demand any better?

I read mixed reviews about the hemp fiber filter for vapcaps.

Some say it helps keep the vapor smoother and your unit cleaner. Others seem to say it makes the vapor more dry and can irritate the throat.

Do you guys use the hemp fiber in your vapcaps as a filter and what would be a use case for that?

Thanks!

Well, for one thing DV is a company with several employees, a factory floor with multiple work stations and produces product full time. @Pipes is (I believe) a one man operation doing this in his home in his free time starting out, at least, as a hobbyist. I think that is enough difference without going further.

I look forward to DV's unit, it has great potential. Whether and how much it cuts into Pipes IH sales we'll have to see. Being on the website with the other DV product will be a big advantage.

Pipes has 4 models that are different from each other in principle, a smaller and larger battery unit, a plugin and a kit. At this point we have only seen one "type" from DV. It is early in the game. Lets see how it pans out...

If you let the fibres get too hot or old they will dry out and start to break up. This is the main cause of the irritation I found. I've since stopped using it since fibres in the lungs are a no no.

I am a life long chronic asthmatic. Smoking a joint has always been hard on my lungs as has vaping to a lesser extent.

I use degummed hemp fiber filters between two CCD screens in all my tips. The side benefit is a very clean condenser but I use them primarily to filter out tiny particulates in the air path. You know, the tiny bits that cling to the inside of the condenser? Well, those tiny particulates also continue down the airpath into your lungs. With a hemp filter the condenser stays smooth and clean and your lungs don't get irritated by bits of plant matter.

I don't go crazy with heat when I vape. I don't char my load. So, I'm wondering if those who find the filters irritating may either be vaping to very high temps or are not using degummed hemp fiber.

Degummed hemp fiber filters were a total game changer for me. I no longer experience lung and throat irritation and I rarely cough. Granted the mouthpull technique also helped me a lot in this regard.

I don't use degummed hemp fiber with concentrates. I load concentrates on a reformed concentrate pad.

Whoa! Geo hits the deck with feet running. Vegas must have been good for him.

Got me notice for my surprise package.....

@Squiby I know you are the dream weaver of VapCaps, I find using a bubbleless bubbler
not only cools vapor, it also helps to filter out nasty particulates—more so with a little
H2O. :2c:

Thank you, @Fat Freddy ( for all to share ):

Thanks for the tip. I've read that using a water tool with or without water can smooth the vapor. I've come close to purchasing one several times. This will be the year I get a water piece of some sort.

Forgive my naively. Is a bubbleless bubbler a water piece with just a glass tube going into the water from the joint with only one or two holes at the bottom? Would a J-hook accomplish the same?

Don't know if the dynavap logo is a reflection off the holder or not, but not liking the logo being displayed on the holder. If I take this out & want to leave it in the car as I run about my errands, nobody is gonna think twice about a mug in a holder, but if someone is familiar with the dynavap name, then I could potentially come back to find a broken window & missing IH. So I'd have to remove it from the holder, put in on the passenger seat & throw something over it. :\

Or you could put a Starbugs wrapper around it....

I went in to a new product "war surplus" and found a Red Rock MOLLE Media Pouch. My Mini fits ether pocket, leaving room for VCs, lighters, Pockit Rokits (dbl o'ring containers). Makes a great EDC, (every day carry). The mini can be used while in the pouch. Can be hung on belt, or MOLLE suspension. Doc

Thanks for the info! Do you do anything with the old fiber after you replace it or do you just toss it?

Does the vapcap come with extra screens or did you just purchase extra?

I'm quite fond of the DV logo--it's a bold abstract(ish) design, and, IMO, one of the better ones out there. I hadn't thought about thievery amongst those "in the know", though. That's depressingly pragmatic thinking on your part.

I leave the filter in place until the taste goes off. Then I replace it with a new filter and toss the old one.

Look below by my signature for a series of Vapcap links. Click on the second link from the top, called Degummed Hemp Fiber to see how I fashion a filter.

Does the vapcap come with extra screens or did you just purchase extra?
Every Tip and every complete Vapcap unit comes with one CCD screen. I bought extra so that I can double up and make a filter sandwich.

Hey, I live in NY; as such, have to be depressingly pragmatic. I too like the abstract dynavap logo, just not in this application.

Not a cozy fan. Maybe if it was a quality (i.e. dense) silicone sleeve like they use for e-cig mods for good gripping.

Easily solved if Dynavap moves the logo to the bottom of the cup. Another option would be to make the logo horizontal and wrap it around the circumference of the cup close to the bottom. That way, you would be able to see the logo when holding the cup or when it's on a table, but have the logo covered up when it's resting inside a cup holder.

I mean, the whole point of a logo is to be seen.

I can't imagine "will someone see our logo while the IH is sitting in a cupholder of an empty car and steal it?" came up during the design phase.

I'm sure there are ways to solve this problem. Maybe a wristband or a thin wide band of some kind could cover it.

Or...toss it in your glovebox.

I wouldn't be too concerned about it considering DynaVap is a pretty niche company and those that do know it more than likely aren't breaking into cars to steal a what? $80 portable heater?

Gotta agree with @Summer.

When I was living in the City and young, I left my newly bought bicycle
outside near Holden’s haunt, the Metropolitian Museum, while I went into the candy store.

I got my candy—and someone saved me the agony of
carrying it up six flight of stairs.

Think more like $125-$175, Bud.....

The cups not that tall. Most will be hidden in the cupholder. Lets get one to the testers before we re invent the IH wheel....

Yah, huh? I can be a β tester, or a γ, or a δ. I will be gentle.
