Dr Dabber Switch 2

The eagle has landed!

I've been putting it through some extensive testing/tasting over the past few days and I can already confidently say that The Switch 2 is a complete industry game changer! The sapphire insert brings me right back to my torched ruby and sapphire days years ago. You nailed this one Dr. D, the competition should be sweating and I love it. Oh and the Drop hot knife also kicks ass! Way better than Puffco.

More to come but all I can say is I can't believe i'm dabbing hash off of a sapphire keurig in 2024!:rockon::bowdown:

Thanks for pic side by side with the Puffco, really helped to understand the size of this device. Slightly bigger than I'd like but way better size than the previous version.

The sapphire bowl is absolutely a draw. So tired of companies putting out basic ceramic bowls in their devices.

Ceramic is fine (sic and aln are also ceramics) and has very similar chemical composition to gemstone like sapphire (just arranged in a different structure). They also have a very thin quartz coating. What isn't fine is their vape path and materials that your terpene rich dab has to travel through lol.

I just hooked up my sapphire keurig to my macbook!! :D

What a time to be alive!

I really can't even believe it! I just changed the temp MID DAB on the macbook! lol Seems like some of the functionality of the phone app is missing but definitely does the basics just fine.

I may have just had the best dab ever! Such a drool inducing sapphire slapper where the terps are sticking to my smacker for several minutes after!!:nod:

In another thread somewhere (i forget who) but they mentioned that Dr Dabber Switch 2 does not have an atomizer. I am too new to understand the distinctions.

How does this thing work? (basic concept)

No atomizers/chambers, same as the first Switch. It uses induction tech to heat the Ti heatsink that the quartz, titanium (released next week), or sapphire insert sits in (other ceramic inserts like aln and sic possibly down the line, and HOPEFULLY a polished sapphire or ruby (fingers crossed)). The heat is very even and accurate to the degree.

I was planning on doing a bit of a write up on my experience so far, and probably still will, but for now i'm very open to ASK ME ANYTHING.

I LOVE MY SWITCH 2.

Edit: For anyone interested, there will be a Dr. Dabber IG Live at 4pm PST today. Tyson fight at 5pm lol.

Simple is the way
I have one on the way now, thanks @biohacker!

I’ve been spoiled by the convenience of e-rigs and ended up completely abandoning my gemstones. Recently, after an XL atomizer went dead around the 4k mark, I cracked it open and wasn’t thrilled with the amount of caked-on carbon inside. The idea of getting back to a pure airpath with gemstones in an e-rig format is super exciting. Can’t wait to see how the S2 stacks up!

That's why I specifically said basic ceramic bowls. Their performance versus sic and aln is hugely different. They might be fine for you, but I don't feel the same.

This is definitely the device for you!

Loving my joystick cap performance with the adjustable airflow inserts from Kyle Wym Designs! 0.090" diameter milks like crazy.

Not the end of the world, but seems like my Drop hot knife is already on the fritz and only working intermittently. Sucks because I love the thing way more than my Puffco, but i've never had a problem with either of those in the over year i've owned them. I can hear it working/buzzing, but it's like the voltage is 90% of what it should be and dab won't slide off at all. Otherwise when it works, it works great! Just no consistency to be able to use it so back to Puffco knife for now.

The Switch 2 just keeps on raging!

I am curious as to how the pass-through feature operates, especially how it effects battery usage. Have one of you fella's checked the battery function in the app while doing a dab?

I'm wondering if the battery is used/accessed during the pass-through, or is the charger input sufficient to power all functions while working?

Just to follow up on this, it appears as if the Drop is working just fine. It must of just been the material because I was having the same issue with it sticking to my puffco hot knife as well. Dr. Dabber did reach out and happily offered to replace it but i'm pleased to say that it won't be necessary!
