It says "2013 DaVinci Portable Battery Vaporizer" on the item description, so it should be the latest model.
I got mine during the last $139 sale and it was money well spent. Replaced my MFLB as my stealth piece.

The DV is way to hot to put in your pocket OF you know that. Well maybe you have insulated pockets
Actually it works pretty good for me, I just don't see a need. Much of the year I wear an unbuttoned 'overshirt' over a colored tee shirt (we're mighty casual around here). If I empty the left pocket, the DV goes in just fine and not being against bare skin is not really a heat issue provided I pay attention. Flannel shirts work best, probably, but heavy cotton ones as well. A second shirt covers all sins for social occasions.
It does seem to run hotter on the body (which makes some sense) but OK for a session IMO.

I put mine in my shirt pocket sometimes, and it's usually loose enough to avoid a roasted nipple (sounds like a good name for a mixed drink).The DV is way to hot to put in your pocket OF you know that. Well maybe you have insulated pockets
My wife finally tried my DV and I haven't been able to pry it away from her since (except for charging, cleaning, and loading, all of which seem to still be my job

Works great in my cargo shorts, no burns or discomfort to be had.
So great being able to tote a packed DV on a nice long nature hike.

Wow, I don't like the heat on me. When I do put it in my cargo shorts I am good to go cause I can't feel but I still have to check my skin which is usually red. I don't wear shirts with pockets but because of there movement I am sure that is the better way. The DV still gets far hotter then a lot of vapes and all the portables I have. I guess with it being over a 100 for about a week now and at least another week or so to go the DV would feel like ice cubes in your pocket

You could try using a backer of some sort for added insulation. Perhaps a folded piece of paper or something of that nature.

Interesting.... IIRC there was some loose talk early on about a Tyvek (?) sleeve for this very reason?
Never happened I think, but I'm pretty sure there was something on it.
Heat management is definitely an issue with this guy. Lots of stuff jammed in a small case making lots of heat.

I can't be sure that's it, it might have been Kapton? Perhaps a search of posts from the early days is in order?
If it's Tyvek you can get it easily, it's the stuff they make the tearproof envelopes out of, and contractors use as vapor barriers in home construction. It's usually white with imbedded fibers. Next time Fed Ex or the PO delivers something in such an envelope you've got it.....if that's the right stuff.

Perhaps. Once again, I suggest looking for the post discussing this, by the Maker IIRC. I believe he said they 'were working on releasing it' or some such. It will probably take some experimenting, simply wrapping it in insulation will protect you but bake it into the next life if you're not careful....

The initial product blurb in the first post of this thread mentions a "Kevlar Slip Cover for ultimate protection of your vaporizer," but that was nixed: "The kevlar pouch was something early on that was going be included, but ended up not being part of the finished package."
Have you guys heard of Nomex? It's a fire and heat resistant fabric used most notably by firefighters and race car drivers. I was thinking someone could put the DV into a Nomex sock (eBay, Amazon), which would fit into a pocket without much added bulk, and any excess fabric could be cut off (although you would need to hem it to prevent fraying). Just an idea. As OF said, there is the danger of overcooking your DV if too much heat is retained.

At one point in time I was thinking of the laminated foil faced insulation used in heat blankets. The case temperature can't be all that hot if you don't box it in and cook it. After all you can touch it. And that stuff is good over 100C. I was thinking you make one side that stuff and the other mesh to let the heat escape?
What you really need is a shield between you and the fire. For hand held use a few patches of it in key places should carry the day?

I use the Snorkel to a silicone reducer
The bubbler is 14mm and the inner diameter of the silicone reducer is roughly 1 cm.

I wouldn't want to this to get around, but one night when nobody was looking and I was curious to try it I wrapped a rubber band around the end of the (normal) stem, turned it upside down and stuffed it's little nose in the 14 mm GonG connector on the WP. It took two hands to work, but fortunately that's the exact number I had at the time.
It worked so well I went to a silicone rubber hose maybe 10 inches long. I slipped that over the MP.

That is the one that I wanted, but cheaped out. It will be the replacement I get after this one meets the floor.
Here is the link to the one I pictured. There out of orange but with shipping it was around $33.00 IIRC. It functions ok for as cheap as it was. But the one OF linked would be better IMO.
