Hello,

I haven't received any other emails from you. Let's get your situation resolved. Even though you bought from a shady EBAYer, I want happy DaVinci owners. We'll work something out to get you a replacement unit to Latvia.

Buzzing does happen in some units. The volume can vary. I have really sensitive hearing to high pitch frequencies, so electronics tend to buzz a little louder for me (a "silent" room full of monitors is practically deafening to me) so I'm not the best judge of it.

Panda, we'll do a swap for you. Not a problem.

Hey Davinci Team , jesterday sent email to melbarnhart@karmaclassic.com, is this the right one? ;)

Hi! First time poster. I just bought my Da Vinci vape 2 days ago and it rocks. I am a long time volcano owner. And this item more than meets my portable needs. Very happy.

Vaped with it on stage with my band last night lol. no one the wiser!

Only gripe, I bought it from The Joint in Saskatoon Sk Canada, and dude talked me into the longer whip for $25, but then he didn't include the whip that came with it. WTF? grrrrrrrrr

Took your guys advice on the storage container on ebay, (thanks) and has anyone found a perfect case? The one on ebay looked a little flimsy. Anything better that any of you are aware of?

I have been enjoying all your posts. Especially am impressed with the Da Vinci owners presence on here, and prompt attention to his customers issues. Good on you!

I use my old gen 1 iolite case and it fits in there perfectly! You can hold extra mesh screens in the flip open pouch as well as the oil cans, etc. I use it to hold my Da Vinci as well as all my e-cig tools - batts, cartomizers and atomizers.

ok, i've had this thing a few days and would like to ofer some insight to prospective buyers.

- the arizer solo still tastes better and fuller
- the davinci is more portable. with the solo i have the unit, a few stems, and a grinder with me. with the davinci i have the unit and a grinder. seems like a small diff but in practice out in the world, it makes a huge difference.
- the solo milks glass better, if thats important
- the solo draw is restrictive. like drinking a watery milkshake. the davinci is like drinking air, it is great.
- the davinci is slightly better and more uniform in abv. the solo is close but has some charred edges.
- i seem to get slightly more medicated from the davinci at 383 than the solo at 4.
- i got a splitting headache with some nausea after a heavy davinci only day. may be a one time thing that isnt even related so don't read too much into this.
- odor wise, both seem about the same.
- the arizer charges silently, the davinci emits an audible high pitched whine.
- the davinci's brush is a genius tool, but i've been having thoughts of keeping it outside the body. the plastic bristles are quite warped now (no i do not use the bristle end to clean hot parts), so i feel they may be too close to heat.
- for group sessions? da vinci all the way. hand it over, tell them to suck. no spinning stems to drop or lose.
- i do get 2 more sessions on avg per charge on the solo than the dv.
- once you are done on the solo you have a hot stem to put asideto cool, and you have to load the second standby stem. in the davinci you just empty and refill. makes this a real nice portable.

really, really tough call between the two vapes.

any portable vape that can stand against the solo is a grat vape imo.

Solo no smell? Really? Is there a portable vape that truly has no smell? I was hoping for that with the Da Vinci. But, its aromatic indeed.

the solo had a bit of robot ass smell to it atthe beginning but it was completely gone after 2-3 bowls. the davinci, it has been 20+ bowls, and while the smel as greatly diminushed, i can still taste a bit of the whip. not bad though, all within ormal parameters, but at the moment i do find the arizer to be a much purer taste than the davinci. the davinci beats the solo on portable use easily, though!

Anyone here have both a Davinci and an No2? I'm looking for a good comparative.

Since the Da Vinci's are hand made I suppose we are bound to have different experiences. My Da Vinci makes no noise at all on the charger.

Also, about the brush. I've left mine in there for even 430F for 10 minutes and not had any warping. When you place the brush in there bend the bristles upwards so they aim at the hole that's made for the brush.

Ran the straw threw 91% ISO when I first got it because I could taste the silicon just from inhaling through it without the Da Vinci attached. Worked like a charm.

-Side Note-
I'm not all that sure it's fair to compare the Da Vinci with the Solo. While both are multipurpose vaporizers, those purposes are pretty different. While both are, no doubt, great devices, try comparing the Da Vinci with other truly portable devices and see where it ranks.

THIS interests me because it would be a long time coming for a portable vape to offer this "easy" experience to help show noobs . . .

I would tend to agree that there is very little "technique" involved with this vaporizer. Simply saying "breath in" should be enough to get poeple off on the right track.

Also no one has mentioned this yet. The draw stem is actually woven/braided together. Tiny little holes are all throughout the draw stem because of the webbing/braiding. Kind of like the holes in a wicker basket. I feel like these holes little a little cool air mix with the vapor as it travels up the tube. I could be imagining this but I feel like it helps cool the vapor off a little. I think it might help make the hits a little smoother.

"Just breathe in" is exactly what I tell people to do and they learn quick, getting big clouds of vapor usually the second or third try. So I would say it's pretty user friendly, doesn't require much technique, more of a tweaking things to your personal preference like how hard you hit it and the temp.

There's actually a tube underneath the woven material. Early on, I had a problem with one of their straws and posted pictures. The woven part had split from the tube so I got a pretty good look of what's in there. I'm pretty sure the woven bit is just for looks, so I guess you are imaging things :p

Edit:
Sorry it was on page 20 so I guess it wasn't very early on haha

I guess I was not pushing my thumb down hard enough on the end with the screw.

It is an honest mistake man, don't dwell on it. ;)

I actually think it is quite fair to compare them.. there aren't much portables like the Solo except the NO2, a few chinese copycats and the iolites which have different MOs (butane powered, single temp).

I think the DaVinci without being specifically made for stealth/home portable, clearly works in both environments quite well and i think the fact that it can be so versatile is one of its greatest strenghts. I can use it at home, with glass and outside and it delivers a good punch, even ABV and nice taste. The solo can also do all 3, but is not so good outside.. on the other hand, it seems to have a slightly better battery life and it is easier to clean.

In the end, it all comes to what you need most. And if you only have money for one vaporizer to do everything, i would consider the DV a pretty viable and interesting option.

With respect, I disagree. The Da Vinci was made as a stealth portable, although it turned out to be such high quality it is a great home vape too! You could let someone see the Da Vinci and most people wouldn't even know what they were looking at. The Solo is something you can easily take over to a friends house, not vape anywhere anytime. It was made as a small, home-use device that is also easily transportable. If you let someone see you using your Solo out in public, they may not know what it is, but they'd probably be thinking it's for something A LOT worse than what it is for, lol.

So, Solo is going to win as a home device, Da Vinci as a portable.

I wouldn't recommend anyone use the Solo as an out and about vaporizer. It's not discrete at all, not sure why people believe it is a portable. -IMHO

That is pretty much what i said except for the part where you say the original intention of the DV was as a stealth vaporizer..

I think the Solo would eventually win as a home device too, its just that the DV does all that already. If you only can have one, i would get the DV over the Solo.

So again, i say it is fair to compare them. Different oppinions. ;)

I use the solo out and about all the time. Just because it can't be seen, doesn't exclude it from being a portable. I use it in my car during work all the time, for example. :)

Absolutely we must compare them! Portables offer all types of features, stealth being just one of them. Any vape not locked to a wall outlet is portable. Then the question is what you value in a portable...stealthiness, size, power supply, hit strength, etc. I love the Solo, since for me it takes my beloved log vape and liberates me from the bedroom. I can go all over the house, dog walks, drives, etc. When I want stealth, I reach for my MFLB, or a Dainci if I had one. There will be a lot of people who try to decide between the Solo and the DaVinci, so comparisons are helpful, and stealthiness will be a big factor for many.

Well I don't own a Solo, so I can't say for sure how good it is. I can say that I'm extremely happy with my DV. It's just perfect for my needs.

Basically there is one big difference I am disagreeing with you one. You're saying the Solo can be a useful out and about vaporizer, although not as effective as the Da Vinci.

As far as comparing the Solo and DV for me when I was deciding on a vaporizer... It was pretty simple. Looking for a good home vaporizer that's not a pain to transport(!!!) for a good price check out the Solo. Looking for a good out and about portable go Da Vinci. My needs matched a truly portable pocket vaporizer.

Long story short when I was deciding on a device, Solo VS DV wasn't exactly a hard choice. All these choices were much harder N02, Thermovape and MFLB vs DV.

Again, this was just my experience. I knew what I was looking for, and the Da Vinci was the closest thing to match those needs. Discrete, cleverly built, simple to use, pocket portable.

Stealth is not so important to me - I love being portable in a sense like Sticks mentioned - im not tied to an out let. What I am looking for in my next "portable" is great taste. I love my No2 - portable, produces good vapor, and its relatively easy to clean. But, I feel it lacks in flavor when put up against some of my other vapes. I'm looking into either the solo, the Davinci, or possibly the PAX...my choice will lie totally on flavor.

I'm not so much speaking as stealth, which the DV totally has, but just being able to stick it in your pocket and it not stick out/look awkward. It's very convenient in this sense. The Solo would be much more awkward in a pocket. And you always risk breaking stems if you attempt it. I suppose when I was thinking portable I instantly thought of something that can fit into a pocket. But you're right Sticks, if you can move with it, it should be considered portable. So I should have emphasized on the 'pocketable' more.

@zomger: well with that, I totally agree - I prefer the DV to the Solo in "stealth" or walkabout situations. Doesn't completely make the solo irrelevant though, they are both great vapes imo!

For example, i dropped my car off at the dealership today and walked the 3-4 miles back to work. Brought both the davinci, and solo to try.

- it was a cold day, strangely. the DV was awesome as a handwarmer.
- out in windy/grey outdoor situations, DV blew out vape that was thin and hard to see, even at 390F. The arizer solo was afflicted similarly, but not quite as badly.
- Walking around with the unit in hand?
Solo) Keep unit upright, or, use finger to hold stem into the unit while walking around. not good. also, sipping from it can look like sipping from a red bull can (at least since I have a silver one), but up close, people will ask questions when they see the honey residue and plant matter buildup in the glass stem.
DaVinci) Hold it however the f*ck you want it, puff on it when you want, pocket it, whatever!
- One bad thing though - with the solo I had my stems preloaded, so I popped the cap and plugged in the body. In the DaVinci, reloading herb on the windy day was a little hard to do.. and scary too, didnt' want all the precious stuff flying out in the wind!

for me, personally, the davinci is my walkabout vape. if i need a portable vape in the "portable" sense as in taking it to a friend's house, using it in my car, taking it on vacation or to my parents' house, or if the house power is out, the solo is it. The davinci is it when i'm outdoors and around people, say, walking on a street, sitting in a movie theatre, etc. The two vapes complement each other very well, but by no means do you need both to have an enjoyable experience.

And with that I leave you with photo 1 from my "travels with davinci" series.... :D
