Welcome to the forum @rwx-800 Please note: This thread is for thoughts limited to the BFG Fusion. However, you can start a Fusion vs Camouflet thread in ASK FC section of the forum to get feed back you desire. Hope that helps.

PrematureEvaporation

So I’ve been watching this video, as always Lee from tabletopbong makes me think about heating my device in a whole other way. He torches the bowl and cap directly to heat it, and then uses the wand as the finishing heat application to maximise the hybrid nature of the Fusion. Very clever and the clouds speak for themselves.

I think today I’m going to try and combine his idea of directly pre heating the bowl with some aspects of my slow roast technique.

I’m hoping to get either better performance or the same performance with a faster heatup. I’ve got a triple flame with me too, and I’m wondering if preheating the bowl with that and then heating will give similar results to my small single flame without the near minute heatup.

Will check back in later today with the results of my experiments :science:

I would recommend you to take that triple flame and aim 2 flames to the lower silver ring, and one flame to the upper silver ring. Then pass the click 5-6 seconds (the seconds vary). No bowl heating or wand. You start with convecction and the silver rings do their thing. Hit after hit you will notice more conduction.

I’ve done this before but it’s not enough conduction and hybrid effects for me. Very tasty though!

uhm, maybe i use to pass more secs the click since i use to vape hash
Yeah maybe

In my experience with flower that tends to over charge the convection heat into charring or combusting temps long before there’s the level of heat in the bowl required for the hybrid effects I seek. I think that’s why the slow roast with small flame works well, it heats both bowl and cap at an optimal rate.

I’m hoping this bowl pre heating might just be the answer though!

I load the bowl using the straw method, i use a triple flame torch and heat 3 seconds past the click and I get hybrid hits from the get go. The 1st 2 hits lean more towards convection but after than it's pure hybrid. 1 and done no need for a re heat and as long as I use the straw method to load I do not scorch anything.
