Dabpress Rosin Plates

the problem with pre pucking so hard is the end product color will be darker. Just try bottle tech, you can still do 2 x 7 grams, and you are still going to smash it. But it should be only once, slowely and when the medicine is already melting. Not at 220 because it's pucked too hard.. I cringe watching that dutch video. It needs to flow out easy, let the rosin flow!

If I can't squish yet, I'm working on a plan....
My plan was to get this Rosin Tech pre-press, capacity of 1/8 oz.
Then, using a small load like 1 gm, try to pack along one side of the pre-press,
to make a long and narrow puck (like 1.5" x 0.5").

try first with only parchment, and placed along the front edge of press plates:
- make it a really short distance that rosin needs to flow inside puck.
- low temp and low pressure to keep max amount of terps

@psychonaut, it would be interesting to see how rosin quality compared , bigger squish flavor to small squish flavor.

small squishes will always be the best quality and yield, but who wants to squish 1 gram at a time? You will get very tired of that, quickly. Even doing an ounce at a time now can be work if you aren't doing it in one press.

What is kind of material is better for pre-press? Aluminum or stainless steel?
.........................................................................
ABS plastic is used on the mini Rosin Tech pre-press (about $30). And ABS slides well against itself and should
last forever.
Milled aluminum (anodized black) is used on the small and large -- $200 and $300 :(

I'd vote for ABS plastic as you just hand press it. Unit doesn't need to be metal and be that expensive!!

Note that Rosin tech pre-press mini has no bottom--press directly onto parchment. The other two are fully enclosed/ top and bottom.

All of my smaller squishes tasted the best but not by a huge margin IME, but this was also at 220F. Now that I am trying to press below 200F it's different. The rosin can be so terpy I get a lil itch in my throat. I haven't coughed yet but I can see it coming.

I've done thousands of presses. My experience is the harder and denser the initial puck then the cleaner and clearer rosin you get. No filter is needed. My rosin is much lighter then what I generally see others produce.

A good pre press design is an aluminum tube with delrin rod inserts. There should be a shoulder on one end and a deep cap that fits onto shoulder so the rods can be pushed through removing the puck. Use a clamp to do the squeezing.

Some sweet looking agave nectar there bro!!

Thanks! Really nice 50/50 hybrid testing at over 23%. You know I like my sativas but this one does not slow you down. Not as good of a skunk as LSD by barney's farm (nor as good of a yielder) but it's really a pretty flower and the rosin is looks nicer than the LSD I squished late last year.

That is a very fast reaction. Thanks, will keep you guys posted.

By the way, I made fourth place during the masters of rosin cup in Barcelona last weekend. David among Goliath one might say, seeing I am a small time hobbyist without the huge financial back up our competition has.

Now time to upgrade my press with new plates, and do some more selecting and growing to feed it with smelly stuff...

Got the 3-5 220v caged ones seeing I am using 2-4 bags

That looks solid. For that price, if it holds up well, that's a damn fine investment to have both hands free while pressing. Take a dab while you have a seat. Tap, tap goes the rosinflo!

It will increase the danger but I am used to working around hazardous machinery. Still I need to be careful. I play guitar and would hate to lose a finger.
