Thanks psychonaut. I think your second point is spot on.

With all valves closed and i pump the handle, nothing happens. So there must still be air in there. I didn't know how long that took so when i did it based on the manual it was only open for a few minutes.

I just moved the pump up to a shelf in the closet so the hose can hang down and have the valve farthest from the gauge open to let the air out. Will let it sit for an hour or so and then see if i can get the gauge to move once i close the valve again.

Thank you, will report back later.

Have you checked your hydraulic oil level in the pump?

Have you checked your hydraulic oil level in the pump?

Hi JCat,

Thanks for the post. I took a quick look earlier but don't know how to tell if it is to low.

I had let the pump sit for over 2 hours with the air valve opened. I closed it and pumped and the gauge doesn't move.

Not sure what's going on.

I'll have to take a look at the manual and/or online about the oil level. I had hoped it would be ready to go from the get go.

Any thoughts/suggestions always welcome.

Thanks everyone.

thanks everyone. think i may just need to call the company.

i had followed the manual they sent and the one i had found online. each gave a different way ro remove the air and after trying both a couple times no pressure builds when the valves are closed and i use the pump. when i put the hose against a hard surface like the online manual said and the oild that came out didnt have any air bubbles.

will prolly try again thus week and if still doesnt work then i will call them

So went back to the office to get some stuff, thought i'd give the pump another try. Made sure the pressure release valve and the air valve were closed, and guess what, pressure started building on the gauge.

I released the pressure then closed the valve again. Then i opened the air release valve and used the pump and pressure would build as well. Not sure why, figured that would prevent pressure from building.

So, i think everything is ok. Probably won't get a chance to hook it up again till next weekend.

Thanks again for everyone helping with troubleshooting. Pump does seem very nice, and i got it for 70 shipped so am pretty happy with the price. Figure if anything happened and a warranty wouldn't cover it, it won't break the bank to replace.

Hopefully my next post will be an update on my first press.

The P350 is looking very nice, yes the price sucks but for those of us who have a garage, industrial grade tools are usually a lot more. That lifetime warranty is very nice. Nothing against strong way that's a great AIO pump and I hope stock levels improve.

Once I have everything here I'll do a video of the pump assembly. The P350 looks to be 1/4" NPT so that'll be a native fit with our couplers on the hr10t35v. P1000 is 3/8" so also interested in how it performs with a reducer.

At first: Thank you all again for this great informative Thread!

I am excited looking forward to order a dabpress and have some questions:
(if i should discuss this via mail with roger or via dm with @psychonaut feel free to tell me...)

  • Customs: Anybody here who had sent a dabpress to Germany and can share the experience? I would realy like to avoid opening the paket at customs and explain what it is for. In the past i had some "not-so-nice" experiences with customs... on a second note: i am prepared to pay about 20% customs, any other additional costs?
  • Press selection: i am eyeing the 10T driptech model, altough right now the 3T beginner Model would probably be enough but i would like the possibility to scale up in the future and would like the possibility to do half oz or even full oz presses. The cost difference shouldn t be a problem but perhaps my two left hands... i hope to be able to set it up and i would like to find a pump with gauge shipping in germany but i guess the recommended pumps on the dabpress website from UK would be also viable. Anybody has a tip for a pump from Germany? Or do you think i should reconsider the 3 or 6t Modells?
  • when i order, i d like to be set for quite some time. I am thinking getting the bundle and probably additional bags. Anything else i should consider (second different prepress? different bags? the offered Gauge?)

Thanks in advance for taking the time, have a great day! Can t wait till i can really contribute to this thrread!

Hi JCat,

Thanks for the post. I took a quick look earlier in
I still think the 3x7+dake 10 ton press is one of the best options. And no searching for a hand pump. :)
Yes, but driptech is nice :) (at least I've been noticing a difference ... even with 5-7g presses of some of my strains ~50% is dripping off, so the flavour and colour is definitely improved, even at temps of 185F for ~2.5-3min)

Hey there! Sorry to add complications to your choice, but I will say if you purchase the 6T dp-bj6t35 press, you can always remove the plates and heaters from the custom AIO frame and attach the plates to a 10-12 ton H frame shop press and double your pressing capacity, when the time comes.

The 10-ton porta power pumps available on ebay.uk work great with our dp-hr10t35v press, a few of our members have provided some reviews on the pairing. You may have to change out the fitting on the end of the hose (we supply the extra fitting). That setup has a gauge, so if that is something that interests you, retrofitting one on a bottle jack is not going to be a worthwhile venture, so if a gauge is a must, we only have one model that realistically can be paired with a gauge. That may simplify your choice =)

I would recommend the pm30r pre-press for pressing pucks 3.5-7g paired with the 2x4" filters, some material you wont be able to fit 7g, so if you plan to consistently run 7g, you probably want our pm40r mold paired with 2.5x4x5" filter bags.

The 3T model I dont know if I would really recommend for you. If you're eyeing pressing 1/2-1oz batches down the road. You'll be wishing you had larger plate size, 3x3" will limit you.

Having both molds never hurts =) Of course you can always DIY your own, several members here have and posted pictures. Then if you decide on a particular size (30mm vs 40mm) you can always get one of our molds later down the road.

There will for sure be customs fees that need to be paid when importing to Germany from China. If you email Roger at the factory he'll be able to give you a ballpark quote. It's always changing country to country.

I'd personally recommend these items -

hr10t35v press
10-ton porta power pump with gauge on ebay.uk
pm40r 40mm pre-press mold
2.5x4x5" 160u rosin filters for flower

If you plan on pressing sift, or hash, get 37u filters, 2x4" size will be good for starting out.

As to the import experience, hopefully one of our rosineers will be able to provide insight!

Thanks a lot for your answer! So the 3t Modell is out of the game for me. The tip with the 6t Model and a possible upgrade with a shoppress is a nice one but at the moment i am eyeing your personal recommendation, probably with both pre-presses... this will hurt my bank account a bit more but hopefully pay off in the future. I think i d really like the gauge for consistence and would like to give driptech a go.

I will research customs a bit more and than place my order hopefully in the next two days :-)

I hope it will be a blast (and an end to blasting)

Strongway pumps are in stock at northerntool.com still $63 free shipping, damn sweet deal to pair to the hr10t35v press.

$63 - https://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_200641798_200641798
$499 - 10% = $449.10 - https://www.dabpress.com/products/3x5-mini-hydraulic-rosin-heat-press-machine-strongway-hand-pump

10-ton rosin press 3x5" plates, portable, driptech capability, separate pump with gauge, all you need is parchment paper and flower. Filters and pre-press mold never hurt too. Fits on 2x2' work table.

1 year warranty, replacement/repair parts covered outside of the warranty for our customers only 50% + shipping.

Minimum setup for our 420 sale comes out to $512.10

Any recommendations for how to go about pressing some blonde hash? I have about 20g of it to press for a friend ... it's in a slab right now, but it sort of bends/crumbles when you play with it ...

Loving my new 10ton Dabpress setup ... really like the driptech ... often getting up to 50% dripping off, even on 5-7g presses, and the colour difference is noticeable between what dripped off vs what stayed on the plates, even at times of ~2 min and temps of ~190F.

Need to setup my phone or ipad in a good location to shoot a couple videos :)

So far I'm very happy with the value of the setup. There are a few things that I think could be done better, that likely affect temp stability some (possibly quite a bit), but overall I'm very pleased :)

Apart from the driptech, one other thing that I didn't really consider but absolutely LOVE about the DabPress plates is that they are anodized. I didn't think much of this at first, but one of the really big benefits here is that you get accurate temp readings with an IR gun!

Since Roger sends with DHL Express for that lightning fast shipping you will be guaranteed to pay customs
since those guys take their business very serious...i know several peops that bought one and everyone had to pay, its also not easy to fool them because the parcels always have "low" prices on the shipping paper but DHL WANTS to see a link/copy of the item/shop and a fitting pic of ur paypal/banktransfer transaction otherwise they wont let it pass.

Customs charge normally 19% / (20% AT) VAT, 0-5% tax depending on how your items is classified and 10€ processing fee (for me in AT at least)

So to pack that all into an example (im gonna go worst case), the driptech should be

10T Driptech 499$/444€ incl. shipping
+ DE VAT 19% ----- 95$/84€
+ TAX 5% ---------- 25$/22€
+ CST.FEE --------------- 10€

-> 116€ should be the bill for tax/customs when u buy the 10t Driptech and 619$/560€ your total, thats with todays currency exchange rate and AT processing fee requirements but i guess its pretty the same in germany....dont hang me if it differs but that should be a pretty exact estimate IMO :)

Did a squish today, 20g Critical 2.0 (..I don't think 28g is possible..I alrdy have problems to keep the rosin under control )

Outcome :

equals 23,5% if I am right :)
That’s a good problem to have @gunmetalshark. Looking to purchase one of these AIO in 2-3 months (moving to new area) but have some nice stainless steel plates from NewVape that I purchased off of @VCBud. I was going to hook them up on a dake 10T, but not sure which way I should go. Any suggestions.

If only I can use the NewVape plates with the small blueprint of the dabpress AIO.
@psychonaut ? Maybe sell the NewVape plates

@mixchu69 since you already have the plates, I think a dake B-10 would be the cheaper option, and require no post-purchase work. Those dakes go on sale around $300ish occasionally. If you went with the hr10t35v without plates, you may have to tap holes into the bottom of the plates to fit our mounting bolt holes. PM me if you wanna get details on that.

---------

@JCat nice to see you getting along with the press! I don't have much expertise in the hash pressing department, hopefully someone will be able to chime in. One of the best tips I have is let the puck preheat for a bit to melt it, and go slow with the pressure. Double bagging the filters seems to help. Using a 90-120u filter for the double bagging can be helpful containing blowouts.

@gunmetalshark thanks for the information on import experience to europe! Very nice press, do you think maybe 28g would contain better with the rosin having equal flow in front and back, just contain the sides with folds?

---------

I received the P350 and P1000 pumps yesterday, the 1/4" BVA hose is still yet to arrive. I'll probably be hooking it up with my strongway 1/4" NPT hose to make the video. Hopefully before the weeks over. The P1000 takes the 3/8" NPT so I'm gonna have to use a reducer for the end of the hose, and the trick-tools 3/8" NPT gauge kit. Roger's working on 3/8" compatibility to offer as an option.

Both pumps are VERY nice, worth the extra money if you can afford it. Very lightweight. The P350 is tiny! The pumps are made in Taiwan, overall I am very impressed. Shipping from tooldiscounter.com was fast, but their customer service through email is lacking. Going to call them today regarding the hose.

EDIT: Just got off the phone with tooldiscounter.com, very good phone customer service. They let me know they had to ship the hose seperate from BVA's factory in Missouri so it'll be here today. So far great pricing, customer service on phone, and shipping speeds.

Anything worth doing, is worth overdoing.
Wow, did I have a surprise today.

I ordered a 6T dp-bj6t35 unit on Tuesday, and here it was when I got home today. Wow, that was god damn fast! And the pre-press mold with filters was also sitting in the mailbox.

I guess I just couldn't resist the 420 sale and @psychonaut was very helpful with all my questions. I am now a squish noob.

So far I just had time to turn it on and make sure it survived the shipping excursion. Packed really well and easily assembled.

I am really impressed with the build quality. That is one heavy mother, and the attention to detail on the construction is obvious.

I brought the plates together lightly just to check out how it all works and those plates match up and close perfectly.

I'm am so stoked for my first pressing this weekend. Maybe even tonight? If I press a few buds, is the house gonna smell like a Amsterdam coffee house? I was going to wait until the kids are out for the day.

Also, after putting on the legs I got some extra bolts here. Are there supposed to be extras or is there a hole somewhere that needs to be filled? :D

Thanks to Roger and @psychonaut
