Right, or use a small amount of abv (already been vaped herb) and put the kif on top of it if you don't want to spend fresh herb.

Just got my Buddha and I have no desire to smoke:D:D:D
Question in regards to using the vaporizer. When putting bud into it should I puff it entirely right away or can I leave it for a couple minutes and it won't escape the wand. I don't see anything coming out of it and I still get at five good hits even if I've left it there for 15 minutes. Thanks

I just ordered the Da Buddah Vaporizer! (merged)

Hey everyone! About three months ago I decided that I wanted to quit smoking so I went to a local head shop and spent $50 on a metal vaporbowl and I've only smoked twice since then (I burnt out so hard I just went to sleep both times) but today I decided it was time to order a real vaporizer, I have never hit a real vaporizer so I can't wait! I went with "Da Buddah Vaporizer" over the "Vapor Brothers" out of sheer luck, I tossed a coin in the air saying heads was DBV and tails was VB and ofcourse it landed heads.

I cannot wait to try one of these bad boys out. Do you have a Vapor Bro's or a Da Buddah or maybe even both? Share!

P.S.. Like I always say to my buddies "The vacon is crispy ;)"

2clicker, the Silver Surfer ground glass wands work perfectly with DBV. :)
The main difference between the DBV wand and the SSV Ground Glass wand is that the SSV wand is has color beads right after the ground glass and the glass itself is a good bit thicker and has weight to them (~1.1oz vs. ~1.6oz). It's a nice upgrade to the original DBV wand.

I'm pretty sure that the heater cover will not fit on the buddha however, as i think the height is different

Yup, that's right. The SSV and DBV have different heater cover heights. (SSV is slightly longer than DBV)

thanks for the info. i actually just opened an order from you guys minutes ago. it was a DBV heater cover and the arizer screen kit. im going to try to use the arizer elbow screen in the tip of the DBV wand to make for a "mini wand" if you will... as suggested by someone on this forum. anyway, great experience with first order from VK.

and honestly if the SSV GG wand is heavier than the DBV wands, then ill stick with the DBV wands. IMO they do not need to be any heavier. if anything id like to see a shorter / lighter wand available for my DBV.

thanks again!

2clicker,

Thank you and I'm glad you had a good experience from VK :)
I'm usually not on forums, so it's also a interesting coincidence that I answered your questions.

With that said, FYI: I also found out that the Arizer whip (& Glass elbow adapter) fits perfectly into DBV ground glass heater cover, which means that it will also work with the SSV GG connection.

Have a good one and enjoy!

Anybody have any information on warranty? I believe I may have pushed my wand in too hard by accident, because I heard a "snap" as did my friend, and the heating element will not heat up now. I understand that it's 3 years, I have only had it for a few months so it's still under warranty.

Any information regarding best shipper (UPS, USPS, etc), best way to package it? I have sent customer support an email as well so I should have a reply from them within a day if someone else can't help me out.

A family member has a second da buddha in the house, so I'll still be vaping in the mean time.

go to www.silversurfervap.com and click on contact

then tell them exactly what you told us and they will help you

btw... is the element physically broken? can you see any cracks? is the heater cover intact?

As far as I'm concerned, I do not see any visible cracks. What do you mean by heater cover? The metal pieces surrounding the heating element did become loose when I turned the unit upside down to empty it out of crap, and that piece fell with that. I did not successfully put it back on, and figured I'm probably better off letting the warranty handle it because I don't know how to fix it correctly, and don't want to make it any worse than it already is.

The first thing I checked for after it was cooled down was for any cracks. I'll go up and check in a few minutes (making some ramen real quick) and reply with an edit of when I look at it directly in the light. I am able to pull and push the heating prong down and up, if that has any merit. It's not too much, but it's moving down there so I don't know if something happened in the lower part of the unit. I am still awaiting a reply from their customer support.

Edit: From my visual, I do not see any cracks in the heating element, nor any of the glass. I have taken a few pictures from my webcam to show you what I mean by the metal pieces having fallen out and just to show in general to see if anything is visible to anybody else.

by heater cover i meant the glass elbow that covers the element or heater. the piece that you put the wand into when hitting it. that is the heater cover. maybe you heard it crack...?

regardless of what cracked it still is not working so i would contact 7th Floor. have you emailed them yet? they are extremely friendly.

I'd call 'em. Their phone support has historically been more reliable than email.

I thought it was the glass heater cover at first too, but I never saw any crack or stress fracture afaik, and I assumed it had to do with the prong when I discovered that it was no longer heating up. That's why I knew it didn't involve the heater cover.

I had shot them an email last night and have gotten a reply within the 24 hour target they go for. In regards to their phones, I took the advice from their site instead which stated:

We are very busy and do not often answer the phone.
Leave a message and someone will call you back as soon as we can.
You can email us and we will answer your email within 24 hours.

So I am in contact with them now and will hopefully have a replacement unit within a month (they say around 10 days on average, but I don't have any urgency for it so I'm not too worried).

That info about not answering the phone is ancient and hasn't been the case for a long time. If they're better now with responding to emails that's great. That was a major cust. svc. weakness in the past.

Does the SSV wand really work on DBV? I e-mailed 7th floor and they said it won't work with da buddha.

Just a heads up to br34kthr0ugh, you can pull the metal piece around the stem right off, when you order a new glass heating cover they send you a new metal piece along with the glass that fits right on it, but I see your problem is deeper than that.

Has anyone been on Da Buddha's website lately? According to Google "Warning - visiting this web site may harm your computer!" I've never seen this before and was wondering if anyone else gets this warning as well.

Modnote: See this thread. :)

I love my dbv, and yesterday I had a true peanut butter and chocolate moment. I own one of those helix air cooled pipes http://helixpipe.com/ and was cleaning it (I have no intention of ever smoking after having vaped now so I was cleaning it to pack it up.) when it hit me. You can attach the 1 hitter attachment to the helix and replace the mouthpiece from the dbv with it. Wham! Air cooled vapor hits. Better than water filtered because you still get a smooth cool smoke without loosing any of the potency to the water. Just thought you guys might find it interesting.

Hi guys, its been a long time since i've been here since i never had any problems with my lovely DBV.

but now i come to you with a question about wand hash. How long does it take you to build up a decent amount of wand hash/how many g's do you need to vape before you can 'collect'

ive had my DBV for about 4 months now but i still don't seem to have that much wand hash. I know im vaping quality bud, but the amount of wand hash doesn't seem to grow a lot. Does this mean it is time to harvest, or am i doing something wrong.

i added a few pics, can anyone comment if that is a decent amount, or should i keep on collection?

freeze that wand, and scrape the shit of it
It is darker brown close to the heater, look at the wand and hose

i have wondered this as well. i collected for the first time in my DBV wand about 2 weeks ago. i think there had been a little over a 1/2oz through it... so 14-16g's. the result was ok i guess. it was about a 1/4" cube of wand hash.

i wasnt really happy with the amount so IMO i didnt wait long enough. im gonna let it go 1 or maybe even 2oz's before collecting again. so for me that is on average around 1-1.5 months between collections.

and i froze the wand first and found it to be extremely difficult to scrape it when it was cold. i dont know if its just me though cuz i see that recommendation alot.
