Heyho!

Really appreciate the quick, clear answers!

I have DB with standard tube, wand and mouthpiece.

In terms of amount, temp and any other relavent factors, what are some best tips for getting really decent hits from DB?

I do find it a bit of a pain that what's in the wand gets progressively weaker, and then trying to decide when the hits are too crappy and it's time to reload. But I suppose that's just the nature of vaping. It seems maybe a small amount that could be completely used up in one quick session would be ideal...but then, being small, could it deliver big enough hits?

Presently I fill to a little bit over half, grind just to break it up enough, pack it very lightly, like just the weight of the pencil alone that I use as a packer. Knob starts at 1oclock, goes no higher than about 2:30, wand goes no more than quarter or half inch into DB, always turn DB to max and let it heat up completely (until outside is too hot keep hands on) before using it. (Then turn it down and wait about a minute for burner to lower its temp.) I stir and lightly repack after most hits. I vape it until it's dark brown and shrunk to small fraction of its original size.

I wrote this recently... It might help give you some ideas.

a pinch of herb, loose 1/4 filled. no basket. I do have two screens to help limit debris.
THEN take a vapcap and pack the herb solid flat no loose flakes.
have the buddah preheated at 10 o clock and keep this temp.
Draw slowly, smoothly, and satisfyingly into your lungs while at the same time continuously moving the wand left and right... like.... tik.... tok... tik... tok... remove and clear vapor, insert the wand again twisted a little to create a new air stream for the herb, and repeat.

when the flavor deminished stir\\ and pack again with the vapcap.

I've been using this method without packing the weed lately and with the temp between 10-1 depending on my mood.

For vaping, we find that your herb has to go from room temp to vaping temp. As it goes it vapes the compounds. Yes, it gets weaker in since, but as it gets more roasted it releases other compounds. Also, remember the leftover duff is activated and you can eat it. Vaping is different than smoking altogether. It has a bioavailability of up to 80% while smoking is only 30%.
It's kinda like a pot of boiling water. The water does not just boil off all at once, it slowly happens, its much the same for vaping herbs.

Make sure you get your herb to a dark brown, without combusting it. THCv and CBC both vape at 428, while cannabis combusts at 450. So you have to get close to combustion, without combusting.

Getting good thick hits can be a bit hit and miss with the basic wand and mouth piece set-up.

I get the best hits with my buddha by using a bong or a gravity bong!

To make the gravity bong : 2l bottle, and cork. drill a hole in the cork so the whip fits snug, and make the outside in a cone shape so it locks in the 2L bottle.
cut the bottom of the 2l, but keep a bit of the edge so the bottom stays rigid,
Then plug it when the bottle in fully down in the water pot, and lift the bottle slowly (lower temp than what you'd use usually, or it will burn!), and once it is fully lifted, unplug the cork, puff it all, and restart. I will get too high to keep going with 2-3 cycles if filling the wand right and tight enough!

It gives the buddha the same functionnality as any bag vape, with added risk of water spills or blowback into the heating element (adds a bit of fun and motor skills to the sessions, not ideal with more than 1-2 toker friends, and practice is needed as first to get the "lift" to the right speed, slower mean thicker smoke!). Would surely work with any other whip vape but the Buddha is unique in that matter, for its looks & durability (the only time I saw a broken one it was a power cable thing a a easy diy fix, had mine 8 years now no issues). Its my second vape and have not hit the trigger on a third one yet! first one was functionning for 30 minutes on its first day and it simply died. I went for a good quality unit and don't think I could fall on anything much better than it!

Hell ya! Nice working finding this solution for this. You got it with the slower is thicker. This is why we would never put a digital display as your draw speed has such a big impact and our customers like you are true connoisseurs.

@SSV_Steve_Elev8

Hey Steve, i have a cart put together but have a few questions.

1. Will the "Smokey" version of this be coming back in stock soon?

https://www.elev8glassgallery.com/elev8-simple-carb-cap-terp-spoon/
I would be using that with divine tribes 30mm enail banger.

Excuse my over explaining for this second question, but my main question is about the colors matching...this is what i am doing.

I am going to get the standard SSV heater cover in PURPLE COLOR and use it as a carbed whip MOUTHPIECE. In addition to this whip set up I am going to get the Fatty wand in HYACINTH COLOR which will be mated with the Stock Da Buddah heater cover.

2. Are "PURPLE" and "HYACINTH" the same color?
Standard SSV heater cover (purple): https://www.elev8glassgallery.com/ssv-standard-heater-cover/
Fatty Wand (hyacinth): https://www.elev8glassgallery.com/fatty-conical-wand/

I'm trying to make sure all the colors match. I'm OCD (and a designer) about that stuff and it will drive me crazy if they don't. Let me know if you think i should revise my color options.

** also the DABSTATION code is not working in cart. It is still showing on the deals page though.

My general cart:
Quartz Heater Enhancement Tube
SSV Standard Heater Cover ("Purple", black or white if "Purple" doesn't match "hyacinth")
Elev8 Simple Carb Cap & Terp Spoon (Amber if Smoke is not available)
Dab Station for Cotton Swabs, Dab Tools, Alcohol & Nectar Collector or Dab Straw (Amber)
Fatty Conical Wand ("Hyacinth", black or white if "Hyacinth" doesn't match "Purple")

I'm tempted by a DBV, it's either this or a plenty or volcano.

nice to see people still rate the vape as all the videos I had found reviewing it were rather old
Hi There, if you are looking at a volcano check out our Super Surfer. No vape can touch what is can do and you can get is as unique as you for less money than a volcano. If you are looking at a portable dry herb vape, check out our SideKick. Version 1 is only $125 and V2 is only $200. The DBV is a great vape for a budget, but if you are considering a volcano, the Super is the one for you. If do not need the air assist check out a Silver Surfer, it is also made for connoisseurs like you.

You might be just the right guy at the right place to help this guy out. I think he is going to Amsterdam and was looking to get something similar to what he will find in the cafes and such any ideas what you folks sell to those places for customer usage? One other question any new info on the heater enchantments tubes for your company cartridge vapes? TIA

we feel we will have the heate enhancement next week. Just needed some testing. In Europe they do not use our SSV as much as they do not like to pay the taxes that the EU puts on American goods. But a Silver Surfer will get the same if not a better experience to a volcano and the SSV can always easily be upgraded. I mean even the volcano just came out with a hybrid, that we all know a whip gives the best flavor. And they charge a lot for it and fall short on functions compared to an SSV.

A greater problem than the price are missing knowledge about the existence of 7thefloor vapes and their bad availability here in Europe :)

And they don't have this damn fucking CE I think :(

I returned my volcano hybrid and ended up getting a cosmetic buddah on a whim.

My volcano didn't have good flavor and the air pump made it taste bad. If I was in a better spot financially right now, after using da buddah, I'd probably get the super surfer. And on a budget I should have paid the extra $50 for the cosmetic ssv because those improvements over da buddah seem worth it. Da buddah is still killer for the price.

Personally I like the whips for ergonmics. I never really noticed a difference in flavor from the whips vs glass.

There's not a whole lot of functional difference between the DaBuddha and the Silver Surfer.

Yeah that's what I was thinking when I got my dabudda. But now that I have it I feel like I would liked the ssv stem system and slanted heater better (plus the wand secure thing!) Minor things but I feel like the added convenience would be with it.

thank you mate I'll google those now

I've found a few results; there's an edition 2 and an original ?

The only UK store stocking it I could find was this;
https://vapefiend.co.uk/products/silver-surfer-vaporizer

Not sure if original or v2 ? I'll take you guys word that it's worth the extra.

Be sweet if I could find one of these to try in dam as well as a plenty. the plenty looks stupid and I would rather use a whip but hearing the comparisons of the plenty being more like smoking is intriguing to me.

p.s. I already have a portable thank you which is all im using currently even at home so want to get a desktop asap; i got the pax2 years ago and barely used it at the time but now it's all i use until I find a desktop to settle on

I promise you will not go wrong with a Silver Surfer. It is the only heady vape there is. It works well. I suggest getting the WRS version with a graphic you love. You will have this for a long time and will love that you got the art. We can ship around the world as well. If you want bigger hits, you run it hotter and this is true for any vape. One thing I can tell you is you will not find a vape like a Surfer that has as much lov and features built into it. ANy questions I am here for you
