The retention clip is your friend.
You can get your fingers in there to pull it open to make the placement of your HC feel less scary.. The retention clip adds more than just inner support upward, but also from front toward the back, allowing for a bit more weight on the wand part of the HC.....
The rigidity of shim stabilization has potential to allow too much stress on the neck of HC.
The wires placement (up higher) on the HC allow a bit of flex, and in this case supports structural integrity.
P.S---> Nice work, coming up with the idea of screens as spacers... Necessity is surely the Mother.. and was in your corner for that round!

Thanks for the information, I might give it another go another time. I didn't want to break my only HC for the first vape. Would of been a bit upsetting haha.

3 screens seems to have it fitting pretty securely though

There is no rush to change anything.
You have the options now.
Official cut metal shims are at your disposal still as well.
Spare Heater Cover would be a cool move for the future, if you get the opportunity.
Of course a spare wand is always good to have also!

I ordered a DBV on monday and can't wait for it to arrive. I started vaping last Christmas when I bought a PP so I'm looking forward to having a desktop for at home. My mate has the EQ which I quite like but didn't want to buy the same so we have a variety between us.

So my screens weren't holding the heater cover real well so I attempted to put the retention clip back in.

I thought I wa making progress but it still seemed uneasy. Ended up breaking the heater cover. seemed like it was never gonna fit, the heater cover seemed to narrow up a little bit in.

So I'll have to order another one,

Lucky I got the launch box today so I was still enjoying a vape.

Do you have a picture of that by itself ? And do you happen to know if they sell it,separately on the site I can't seem to find it
Is the glass cap basically a carb cap ?

They used to sell it by itself.
You would do best to contact them and ask.
Here is the best picture I could get:

Want to give a quick shout out to customer service. There are some problems with their phone system, but the staff is helpful and polite as all get out. I finally got the payment processed for my Cyber Monday order and will be getting some replacement parts in the coming week. :D

I didn't post about the freak accident that broke my heater cover, not much to tell, actually. I was making a crocheted scarf, vaping long and had come near to the finishing point for the scarf. I picked up my work to check the length and the edge of the scarf caught the crochet hook sitting in my lap. The crochet hook went flying up into the air and came down perfectly into the top of my DBV and broke out the back wall of my heater cover.

Funny thing is it just sounded like a light bulb going out, a quite pop. Other than the cover and the half-bowl that was loaded in my wand, everything else was undamaged. I cannot wait to get my DBV up and running again.

My Da Buddha finally arrived, lets just say i won't be shopping with NamasteVapes again. I'm in the UK and they sent me the Australian model which needed a plug convertor. Anyway bottom line is i love it. I took it to a friends house where we decided to connect it up to his EQ for a dual hit.

I actually had some success with that last night - shortened the hose which is attached to a bubbler too but still cant really go past minimum settings.

I'm using a 220V unit. Lowest power draw is 22-23 W and the max is around 32W so it's not just off/on the heating is variable. Element glows at both min and max setting. I took some photos to show glow but haven't worked out how to post them.

Edit... Or have I?

Do you have an update on this? I recently bought a 220v model and it runs like this. It doesn't combust but blows thick clouds. Is yours uk model?

Here's what mine looks like on minimum, sorry that the picture is the wrong way

No I don't sorry Haunts. I ended up just getting a portable to use as back up while I wait. (Arizer Solo)

Eventually got a reply to my email but was just generic response and since then no reply but have had contact via back channels. I have had some success, I dropped the element lower in the heater cover, pack the wand lightly and draw fast then pull the whip away before it gets too hot. But I've put it away for now. After Christmas I'll play around some more with it and chase it up if I can't sort it out.

My unit is an Australian model (I).

Do other people's glow on the minimum setting, just after it clicks on? If so what model is it 220v or 110v.

Trying to determine whether I can use the Da Buddha Ground Glass Wand with my digital WR desktop, which has a 18mm female glass port. Searched thru many pages in the thread but just want to confirm that the Da Buddha Ground Glass Wand is 18mm male?

Also, I know they use metal screens but just want to confirm that without the glass screen, there is no restriction in the path (like in a Solo wand which has the 4 holes)?

And can someone please provide the ID and OD of the mouthpiece side of the Da Buddha Ground Glass Wand? It would be much appreciated.

This is kind of an answer it yourself question BUT... I already own a very old somewhat failing Da Buddha device that I feel has served me well over it's life. Considering the fact I already own a Airizer Q and am not that impressed over tiny bits of vapor you get that is being filtered and cleaned out with your mini wand and bag..... very small hits. IDK maybe I'm just not using the whip attachment enough/at all/to it's greatest potential.

I also have really bad back issues and constantly picking and stirring and tending to the bowl of the DBV is a pain but feels worth it for the vapor I'm getting.....

At a total loss here guys.

Thinking maybe Storz N Bickel Plenty because I can relax my back while using a fully plug in vape. Only concern is bowl size, I know it has that attachment to pack it down more but, holy *smokes*, that's a big herb chamber.

DBV wand fits in any 18M female port.
I used it for the Vivape with ease.
thank you. does the dbv wand have a glass screen or is it a clear vapor path? I've been using an S&B liquid pad with oil in my desktop gong but I am looking for a wand with an integrated glass screen to help in keeping the pad in place, not to mention to catch any blowby oil.
