Praise Jesus, Allah but most importantly praise Buddha. My ceramic heater came in the mail today and I'm back to using my Buddha. 10 days without forced me to get a solo but now all is well.

I have read that some people advise to clean the DBV whip with ISO and some say that ISO will damage the whip...

What's your take?

I have used Iso on my whips (91%) for years.
I am convinced there is no negative effect, especially if you use 7th Floor tubing.
Here is a whip I cleaned daily for 2 years.
After this picture was taken, I relegated this tube to dabbing use.
It is 2 years later, and I still use the same tubing.

Thanks @Vitolo, I have seen your video and know your stance on the subject. However I would like to hear from some other members on this.

I usually soak my screen and glass wand in ISO, is that what most people do?

I am clueless on the best way to clean the whip, I have used only water in the part but it hasn't got it clean enough and now I have globs building up in the whip.

Vitolo is the word on that subject. Not that you have to do what he recommends. Just post your findings and we will compare. How did your soak go? What objections do you have to V's method? Plug, soak and rinse whip. Seems easy enough.

Would everyone agree that it's safe to soak the screen and glass wand in ISO?

I usually use only hot water to clean the whip, but there is always residue left over. It never gets clean. I am hesitant to put anything other than water in the whip because I don't want soap and ISO getting stuck along with the build up on the inside of the whip. Why? Bc I don't want my vapor to pass through the chemicals and filth that may be left behind.

I wanna buy the DBV whip in bulk, anyone know where to get this? I agree with @Vitolo that the DBV/SSV whips are premium, and worth using. I have heard numerous times that DBV/SSV whips are more heat resistant and a cleaner vapor path than other whips. My LHS only sells DBV whips with the wand and mouthpiece though, which does me no good. Where can I get bulk?

Use good ISO and you should be fine. Water alone will not remove the waxy buildup. ISO or new tubing is you're best bet. Enjoy that dbv. (I think unco Vito pretty much has it on lock?)

I use a combination.
I do this with wand also .... with screen still in place.
I shake well with Iso, then I rinse, and add a drop of dawn, and fill with water... shake and rinse again.
A very good rinse.
The key to no rapid buildup after a cleaning that some may miss, is that the tube must be 100% dry before vapor passes through it again.
I use a vacuum cleaner to accomplish this.
Little beads of moisture get a resin coating in that tube.
even once dry, that bead leaves a mineral-like deposit.
The bead now is a low profile obstruction in the tube, which will catch and gather more passing vaporous resin. (those dabbers out there know the concept all too well).
The tubing that this has happened to, will get visible goo along it's entire length.
Once Clean and rinsed, vacuuming makes the beads dry in motion until they dissipate into nothing.
At very minimum, spin the hose like a lariat, and then leave to air dry sufficiently.
Including proper drying in the whip cleaning routine is never a bad thing.

I am still hesitant to put ISO in the tubing. I ran hot water through it and pinched the tubing to loosen the build up. I got most of it off but there are small specs still stuck. I blew all the beads out by simple exhaling through the tube.

It's not perfectly clean, but it's close enough. I don't want to put ISO in the tube because I don't want ISO residue left over in the tube. From my understanding the ISO can crack and get inside the tube...

Can you buy 7th floor tubing in bulk? I wish there was a way to contact those guys. I have been sending emails for a while, with no response. I want to a new power cord on my DBV, cat chewed half way through the power cable.

ISO is Pretty much the only way to clean out whip tubing that I know of, In a 3ft whip i only use a capful of ISO and work it back and forth in the tubing then a five minute rinse with clean hot water running through the whip gets rid of seemingly 100% of the ISO.

Don't be afraid of ISO. Just don't drink it.

Otherwise just deal with dirty tubing Because as far as i know alcohol is the only way to get the job done.

Jman5280 why do you have a fear of ISO ?

If you use the "contact us" form on their webstore they will get back to you either by email or phone within one or two days during the workweek. I've dealt with 'em this way several times and they always got back in touch to answer my questions.

Am I the only one who had a bad experience with ISO in the whip? I swished some around in the whip for a minute or two and then rinsed with hot water multiple times. The ISO made these weird cracks on the inside of the whip and it tasted strongly like ISO for about a month. The cracks and the taste eventually went away though

If the cracks went away then they were not cracks, but more likely formations of Iso-diluted resins, that formed lines and patterns.
They also held onto some Iso which evaporated ever so slowly.
the lines you saw disappeared after enough passing vapor created a new layer of resins.

I always use plenty of 91% Iso to be sure all is dissolved.
I wash with dish soap and hot water.. (shaking it and agitating it).
I rinse long and well with hot water followed by cold followed by vacuum drying.
This prevents any essences from being trapped and any visual discrepancies from appearing.

Medical grade silicone tubing is not fun.
It has a semi tacky feeling to it, like the skin on the palm of a child.
This collects dust which you can feel against your fingers in a gritty way when handled.
Medical grade silicone has a level of porosity as well, in that when warm, vapor resin can actually seelp through and make the wand end of your whip sticky for the first foot.
SSV tubing is sealed to prevent this porous leak of stickiness.

Looks like they're having a 15% off sale next week, so contemplating picking up a DBV with the vapor tamer attachment for cooling. Is there any other accessories you guys recommend for starting out, that doesn't have to do with looks? You'd have a hard time finding anyone on the planet who gives less of a shit about cosmetics than I do... I have absolutely zero interest in the custom glass stuff.

If you're buying the vape from 7th Floor then I'd get a supply of tubing at the same time. Their bulk pricing is pretty good, and you can save on shipping.

I prefer using a cheap Chinese bubbler like the D020 from DHgate rather than the vapor tamer attachment. If so, you'll need an 18mm glass adapter from DHgate or 7th Floor.
