DBV is my daily driver. I vape as needed for nausea and chronic pain management. When I am in so much pain I can hardly imagine functioning, and I have no patience for
anything it comes to the rescue with almost foolproof operation and clean, simple design. It is wonderful for taking care of my needs. The gg connection is really great, I don't find it to be terribly uneven, but I'm not vaping starting at 3:00 where I would be able to easily see.
Some folks just like to collect and learn as much as they can about a subject. Collecting is a fun and valid hobby. As for me, DBV is a strong design and could easily be my only desktop vape ever and leave me happy and contented to have it, but I have other units for travel and they are wonderfully helpful. I could see myself getting others in the future as the technology progresses and I learn more about the different units. Some are great for the slow and low roasting I prefer, some are good for quick extraction and delivery when you just don't have time, and some offer better herb conservation.
Personal reasons for my multitude: With my DL I was clueless about quality differences, and I ended up a couple due to reckless ebay bidding on my part.
. I was just after stealthy and inexpensive-- what I got was flimsy, a pain in the butt to use, and scorched more herb than it vaped. Contrarily, both my models of DV are excellent stealthy little portables. Having two allows me to always have one charged and ready for adventure (plus the Ascent was a lucky prize). Also I sometimes enjoy using a vapor lung, so I would probably enjoy having a unit for bag usage one day.
If I could afford to do some sort of mod it would be like an ELB or something that would block the herb from the ceramic element, because I am not immune to accidental blow-back. I combusted tonight
when I laughed at an inopportune moment and now I must wait for it to cool so I can clean it up. Mindfulness can help reduce such occasions, and practice with your technique will further help.
I get
many hits from a 1/3 to 1/2 loaded stock DBV wand, but I don't count my hits. Basically I hit the same load until it stops hitting whether one session or several, then I save the AVB and powder it for baking. I usually start 11:30 on the dial and enjoy two or three fragrant tasty breaths. I dial it up to a solid noon and stay there for a while stirring after several hits and then raise incrementally to about 1:30 stirring more frequently. If I am being really thorough I'll hit it a few more times at 3:30, stirring constantly. Sometimes I have a 5 minute session, sometimes it goes on for quite a while (like a several episodes on tv -- even a movie or two if I am feeling wild
).
