do you know what I've just fired it up and I'm very impressed i thought i filled it loosely with no pad and didn't get much vapour stuck pad in and got clouds makes my flower mate feel like a toy :)
Enjoy!

I tend to not fill the oven. At first I put their pad on top, but didn't like that. Now I put a regular screen on top. I cut a wedge out of it (so it looks like pac man) and then "fold" it into kind of a funnel shape. Put that on top of the load and press it down. Works great!

I used to fill and practically overfill, but now with that dome screen mod in the CU, i'm vaping loads of <.05g and loving the micro doses with this little bad boy! I didn't know I had a stack of these combustion screens that are maybe 3/4"? They dome up flawlessly in the CU! Either with or without the stock CU screen. I love milking up my bubbler with one nice fat tasty rip!

@Mr. Me2, I stopped using the cut screen on top due to all the scratches it was causing on the sides of my Mighty. With the Crafty it's been exclusively dome in CU and not a single scratch!

why don't you like the pad is it unsafe?

shall i use screens that came in bag instead of pad?

startedflowermatingnimere,
You can use the pad, but I find that it affects airflow too much for my liking, and imparts a taste that some can detect. It's totally safe! I just don't see the need if a domed screen works like a dream!
there site is up again www.owlvapes.co.uk ive emailed storz and bickle to confirm its authentic but it had he seal and seems exactly the same as the ones in unboxing vids etc im a happy chap im going to try go with a domed screen tomorrow thanks buddy

Agree that it seems to contribute an off flavor. In my experience, it also makes the vapor hotter/more harsh.

I've got the 02.10 yesterday! Could be because i'm high but it looks like the button is different and they've reinforced the plastic around the chamber.

All I can say is the crafty retired the following vapes for me:
Solo, indica, flowermate V5s, hebe titan2.

The only one I even touch these days is the solo for nostalgia or in a party scenario.

You got it for an absolute steal!
You should be stoked.
Happy vaping! :)

I've too have noticed the steal pad imparts a very slight taste... Nothing aweful but a very very faint taste... I still use it because sometimes I feel like a full load and sometimes not.. So I hate swapping out screens on the go... And I don't like scratching my chamber walls with a half cut screen (aka pac man).

I keep my steal pad in my filling aid for on the go use.

I've been considering getting a crafty, was hoping someone could clear this up for me: how is the reliability? I've heard many negative experiences with the crafty breaking down, and Storz & Bickel being bad about following through on warranties/ bad at keeping contact with you. But a lot of those stories seem to be from the months after release. Has the newest version improved at all on the defect/randomly breaking front? And also, is it possible to find vendors that will field warranties themselves (ie if I get a crafty and it breaks down not due to my fault/mishandling, the vendor would replace it for me right away and I'd never actually have to talk to Storz & BIckel or pay the shipping fee across the ocean)

also, people mention batteries dying. I'd be using this more than once a week but probably less than once a day. Is that little enough that I shouldn't need to worry about the battery life warranty limit, or about it burning out at all over the 2 year warranty period?

I think it's a real hit and miss with the crafty.
I'm on an first release OG crafty (I think Nov 2014) ~42+ hrs and it's fine no issues at all.
My friend's was purchased Dec 2014 and they are almost 60+ hours, no issue either.
(not much heat up time/battery degradation with either!)

But bulk of reported failures seem to be of heavy daily users (anecdotal evidence) and higher 70+ hour mark.

Some are reporting 150hrs and up to 300 hrs (but with noticeable battery degradation with heat up times).
Note: the 300 hour user swapped his battery himself by resoldering.

I bought from a Aussie reseller who will send a new unit on failure and deal with s&b themselves. But I still have to pay local shipping.

People are saying use "puff it up" website. Apparently Randy really looks after his customers.

If you will be concerned about longevity and don't care about portability get a mighty! Double the battery and half the strain on the unit.

I say jump on board. It's definitely my favourite session vape (what you put into it you use in 1 sitting).

For on demand, 1 hit and put it away, convection style... you are better off with a grasshopper or FireFly2 (soon to be released, but the beta tester on FC says it's awesome).
But right now the grasshopper has poor failure rate themselves. And the firefly1 had big issues at first too apparently.
