If they are stating 825 I would guess this is the lower figure (better for them to use the lower) this would make me think they are counting in something like 25% - 30% stages, so a 25% charge counts as a full charge cycle in their heads.

I'm no expert and my numbers are vague at best, but should IMO be a good estimate.

We know the crafty charges to 4.20v from members tests here, so I think the fact they claim over 800 cycles shows they are counting part charges and not full, but without knowing what % they count it's hard to make estimates.

If they are counting 30% (two bars) as a cycle this would kinda fit with your numbers, if 150 hours is 300 real cycles then it would be around 900 of their chosen cycles.

I was going to get something to eat to try and sort my head out a little, but it also hurts now lol so my LSV has just got hot and I'm gonna cram as much as I can in it and see if that helps

Although I'm not worried that I'll be seeing 150 hours. With that said when my warranty expires I'm planning to get another crafty. Wonder if when that happens if we will get a deal on a new crafty.

My crafty's served me well so far!

Have been toking for many years but this is the 1st vape I've owned. Tastes so good vs combusting!
Prefer the high U get from vaping too.
I'm now a true vapor convert.

My units around 5months old and has clocked up 13hrs of usage. (Would be more but have a slow suply issue at the moment!)

It's worked perfectly since the 1st bowl.

I think S&B are selling a vaporizer with vibration. It is one of the reasons I bought this product. So I think it is a normal warranty thing when the vibration doesn't work!

SB Germany wanted me to send my unit back when the haptic feedback module died after only 7 hours, eventually the unit died at the around 60 hour mark.. and I sent it back for a replacement (new unit had a broken wall adapter - never told SB)..

My Crafty #19xxx got the dreaded red\yellow flashing lights after 5 months and 51 hours use. Followed the instructions and sent it back. It got there on Monday and Wednesday I got an email that a package was sent. Got a brand new box with Crafty #35xxx, firmware 2.08 and the new casing on Friday. Very happy with the customer service, but I wonder how long this one will last.

Damn, with CS like that - who cares? It's posts like yours that give prospective buyers the confidence to pull the trigger. I have my issues with the Crafty (battery quickly degrades and slows heat up time) but if they will stand behind its operation for 2 years and replace it when it dies, I think it's probably a worthwhile vape to own if you "need" it. I'm actually starting to think crazy thoughts again (they cycle rapidly), and thinking that my only way to get around this - is to buy TWO Crafty's!

The device also gets quite hot along with the mouth piece when I pull hard on it. Is this all normal or is this thing faulty, because I don't seam to be feeling a great deal off this, any advice will be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Use the liquid pad wire mesh pad with small loads on top of the load. I find that the crafty works best with full loads.

As @Astedra said the crafty will perform best with a full bowl, the load needs to stay put while you pull otherwise it will not heat the way we want, I'm no good with weights as my herb is a lot dryer than most (by choice) so I'm not sure how full your filling it but if only using small amounts the crafty extracts really quick so only getting a few pulls with coulds could be right, some strains will give more visual vapour than others so sometimes best to judge the effect (can take 10 mins to feel fully) rather than visuals, first I would try a full bowl and see if that improves things.

For me a full bowl normally lasts around 4-6 pulls over a few minutes with fast deep pulls or 2 pulls if through water without the CU, but this will vary from person to person depending on temp used speed and length of draw and quality or herb.

The crafty will get warm/hot (that's what we want ) this is a subjective area though as what's hot for some is barely warm for others, the only areas IMO that should get hot are around the bowl and the CU (cooling unit) but maybe with small loads more heat is passed through the CU and to the mouthpiece

So my method for getting the best results (for me) is a medium grind (SCS) quite dry herb (makes a crunch noise when squeezed) and a full bowl set at +200°c, the amount of pulls you will get can vary greatly depending on the variables I mentioned earlier but a good indication the load is spent is no visible vapour and your herb should be anywhere from a golden brown to coffee brown.

Instead of the liquid pad on top, you can use a standard screen. Cut a wedge out of the screen so it looks like pacman. Then fold the opening together so it makes a cone. Push the cone on top of your partial oven load (with the tip pushing into the load...that sounds weird), put the cu on and you're good to go.

Btw, I always fill loose about 2/3's and use the screen. My mouthpiece never gets warm but close to the heater does.

I use the liquid pad nearly every time I use the Crafty. There have only been a handful of times I've loaded the oven completely, and it does pump out the vapor like a monster. But it's usually just me so here's my MO: I grind to a pretty fine consistency, like espresso grind. I use the round part of the orange pick tool as kind of a scoop and just cover the oven screen with ground material. I've tried to measure the amount, but it doesn't register on my scale, so it must not be much at all. Then put the liquid pad on top. First round at 365 degrees and I take two pulls. Then I boost the temp to 385 and get 2-2.5 more pulls. The first couple of pulls produce a nice amount of vapor, then it tapers off. It seems to me this thing is so efficient that it extracts all the goodies and packs a helluva punch in very few pulls. I get a few more pulls when it's fully loaded, they're just much denser clouds. I love this thing, I'm using much less per session and stretching out my stash.

Some people have used the pad under their herb. I was discussing this recently with a friend, pros and cons of pad placement (we were talking about the Plenty though).... there must be differences... maybe using the pad on the top creates more conduction?

I purchased when first released and received one with a serial number in the 3000s. Today i am sending the device back for repair for the first time. The issue i have is the broken plastic around bowl on the heating unit. Although this issue does not effect the functionality of the vape, I've read in this thread that s&b accept this is down to poor design and thought i might as well get this repaired given the cost of the device.

I have had no issues whatsoever with the unit, apart from connecting to blue tooth which worked fine last time i checked in march '15. The unit may possibly take longer to heat but I've never sat there with a thermometer to check ambient temperature and run multiple tests.

Not sure if anyone else does this but i don't bother with the first preset temperature and use the 2nd higher temperature with every bowl. I think i have this set at 200 Celsius. I get around 3 bowls use this way.

I think you are making a smart move to send it in now, when you do have a valid reason (cracking of the housing that they've since improved upon), but before you have any other issues, specifically with battery. Sounds like you don't. So send in for a brand new updated Crafty. You paid for it!
