Also is there an android device you can test it on, or another Apple device that will work with the Crafty app? This will isoalate the problem to the Crafty, or to your phone specifically.

I could ask my son, but he already looks down upon his stoner dad, so I'd rather not. I know my phone has successfully connected with 2 Crafty's, so I'm confident that it's not the phone.

Yes there is. Hold the power button in for like 10 seconds until you get a light show with vibrations.

I tried that but got no light show. Just a Crafty heating up for duty.

:peace:

That's fair enough. That information will be valuable to Crafty when you report the issue, because the first thing they will wonder is 'is it the crafty, or the phone?'
Sounds like you may be eligible for a replacement.. Fingers crossed this does not end up being a common issue for other users. I'm following this thread very closely because I suspect a new model will come out in a few months with minor changes to address some of the issues that they would find most worthy of fixing (namely; the issues that are causing people to send their units back and make Crafty's job harder than it needs to be)

App integration is usually an area that needs a bit of fine polishing and trial and error before the kinks are worked out, so there is the possibility that it's just a small issue that is resolvable by getting an update somewhere down the road.. :)

Radio,
Sad panda here. I just got my second Crafty today and after the second bowl my app is stuck on this:
mcl8LZN.jpg

Any ideas? I've already rebooted the app several times as well as my iphone.

:peace:
I usually get that message when my wifi or bluetooth is weak. Is your second Crafty able to make a connection?

EDIT: Doh. I really should read to the end of the thread before replying. Great work @tdub.

Does anyone preheat their crafty before loading the material in the chamber? I just saw this review on YouTube where the reviewer did that but didn't show us if there were any clouds that came out. Might be a good way to minimize the conduction. I'm worried it might melt the filling tool when it's at operating temp though and it might take a few draws before getting any visible vapor.

I would say that not only is that not necessary but it sounds like an extra drain on the batteries to me. I load, turn it on, let it heat up and punch away.

The filling tool is not temp safe plastic. It's the same plastic material as the grinder.
The chamber gets pretty hot.
I wouldn't risk it to save 10 seconds.

It was like a partial amount of vapor going in, but was pretty invisible on the exhale. It did not taste great, but definitely not the worse flavor I've come across through my vaping career. At the second inhale there was no indication of vapor at all. This is at level 6 and even 7. Definitely negligible.

Haha no brainwashing, you still questioned yourself, respect!

I think I can arrange that, do you recommend that I take alternate inhales from each device, or use them back to back?

Remember to stay hydrated when consuming all that lavender :)

@vapeppau
Didn't get any sweets in my crafty shipment lol, maybe they know that I am on a diet atm.

hmmmm i used the filling device and the pick while the unit was still hot (b2b sessions), it didnt melt but I was under the impression it was heat safe plastic lol. Maybe I should not do that ?

Wish list for next app update:

Ability to turn device on and begin heating.

Ability to power device down

Presets-like quick dial where you have 3 temperature presets. Press 1,2 or 3 for preset temps for varying reasons and circumstances.

A variety of skins choices. Not a fan of the blue and orange industrial look.

It has hours of operation tracker but I'd like more information stats like average Vape session duration and other useful information.

Any other ideas out ther?

Maybe we should ask S&B what those things are made of and how much heat can it withstand.

I've just finished a trial between a night of just using the crafty and a night of just using a vapor brothers (1 session each with .15 and then .05 a hr later, same material on both nights)

A) I'm getting about 13-15 draws on the .15c load on the vb versus the crafty's 8.
B) Seems like the vb lasts about 30 minutes longer in terms of effect and kept me awake when I wanted to sleep, didn't have this issue with the crafty.
C) Session time 35 minutes on the vb versus 20 minutes on the crafty.
D) the crafty seems to give me a cleaner feeling versus the vb which gives me a more cloudy feel (almost like a headache) might be because I try to drain every drop out of my material at varying temps.

Has anyone used the Crafty at 157c? According to charts it seems like the temperature where the most popular ingredient is activated? I'm noticing I usually use my vapor brothers unit in the 310-325f range after looking at a guide but I don't know if the temperatures fluctuate and get hotter the longer that unit is on. It can possibly be the reason why I'm getting a more heady effect when using the vb.

How about find my crafty? Push a button on the app and your crafty will keep buzzing till you find it?

Regarding the solo vs crafty vapor test.
Good man!
Either tonight or tomorrow a friend and I will use one each (solo and crafty) at the same time so that we can take turns exhaling to compare.

If you wanted to compare vapor output and you can handle it, probably at the same time would be best right?
Because you would be able to see one exhale right after the other.
After a bowl it might not be so apparent, not to mention that your judgement might be impaired.

Regarding the pick and filling tool.
I believe that the pick at least looks temp safe and is meant for stiring so I would be pretty confident with that.
Only reason I'm assuming the filling tool is not temp safe plastic is it seems to be the same plastic as any other 2 piece janky grinder is made out of (not to say the crafty grinder or fill tool is janky) but it's that same familiar plastic material for sure.
I think as @K-nub suggested, an email to S&B would definitely help.
I will send one today during my lunch break and let you guys know the reply :)

When convection baking usually the overall temp is lowered and so is the overall bake time.

Edit, weird, no idea why I posted this but it is true. When baking with convection the temp is lowered and so is the time to achieve the same results as regular baking. Reports of the mighty/crafty extraction seem to follow the same cooking science, weird huh?

Hope I clicked all the correct boxes. 24hrs later it appears might be getting ready to ship...so if you didn't select free priority shipping and went with default shipping what happens? Lmao. It would be hilarious if the default was a snail mail package, well not so hilarious to me.

Sound like a great idea! What would even be greater, if you had one more bud, would be to film the hole experiment and share it

In what context did this message come up?

Where you experiencing any problems or are you now?

Have you contacted S&B to see what they have to say about it?

~
I tried to turn it on and the light flashed red and yellow then it turns back off. When I opened the app that's the message I got. It had worked fine up until that point.

I have to pay for shipping back to S&B then they will determine wether it is covered under the 3 yr Warranty. If it is covered they will pay return shipping. I don't see any reason it wouldn't be.

Kinda sucks I have to pay for shipping to them considering the price of the vape and that it's less than a month old with only 18 hours on the clock but just about every other company does the same so I expected it.

I'll ship it out tomorrow. Wish me luck on a speedy trip.

Sorry to hear that @gosaints420 , I have 3 hours on mines already and I tax the unit a lot when I use it for 20-25 minute sessions. Do you think we have anything to worry about? What kind of usage are you putting on it. Have you tried the factory reset on the unit?

Presets-like quick dial where you have 3 temperature presets. Press 1,2 or 3 for preset temps for varying reasons and circumstances.

I second 3 settings. With that this would be the perfect vape! To be able to get that range without touching your smartphone would be great
