I've never been a germ-a-phobe, so I'll live with it. Thankfully it fell into "clean" water. A wipe down with some alcohol and I'll be good with it.

Would I prefer to not use a vape that was dropped in the toilet? Fuck yes! But given the option of that, and a potential costly repair, I'll take the toilet water ;)

Will report back in an hour or two with hopefully positive results.

MIRACLES HAPPEN!

My coworker just woke up, and I went back to check on my baby.

I had it in the back, sitting in a bag of rice all day. Took it out, and fired it up. It connected to the app, got up to temp, and held the temp. I took a few draws, and temp dropped a few degrees before getting back up to temp.

I'm not off shift for another hour, so won't be able to fully test it til then. But things are looking up!

I can taste a slight combustion taste (from when the heater had a run away after being dropped in the toilet). But nothing an iso bath can't fix.

Also a piece of rice seems to be stuck in the hole where the pick is. But that's small potatoes!

So fucking psyched, I hope I don't have to send it in :)

Tried mine. Still dead :( lol.

Clean yours really good...

Glad you got it working. I know you've been loving it. I've been thinking about selling my Herbalizer and buying a Crafty to be my dailer driver and a used Plenty for my heavy hitter. Is it daily driver worthy?

Fingers crossed for you Roth.
After a couple of ISO baths and a couple of burn offs, perhaps a peroxide bath as well(might take care of any remaining organics).
Best of luck!

@Roth after a good cleaning and testing, if it works fine you should tell Storz & Bickel! Talk about a good selling point! That's absolutely amazing...
Maybe leave the toilet part out of the dropped in water and still works part. LOL.
So happy for you my friend!

I know your usage was limited, but how would you compare the crafty vs the firefly? Most interested in terms of vapor quality (temp, quantity, taste, etc) and ease of use (cleaning, loading, etc).

So far everything has been better on the crafty with the exception of flavor. Firefly can pull better flavor, if you really work for it. I believe its due to the instant on heating.

Tried to connect my Crafty to different phones today, but none of them were able to connect to it. It might be that my crafty has a faulty bluetooth unit and I'm not expecting too much from the S&B warranty service.

I'm not expecting too much from the S&B warranty service.

Why is that? My replacement crafty was on its way within a day of emailing them. Sure its not next day which would be nice (since it was originally next day) but they sent me a replacement within a day, no hassle at all. Emailed them my problem, name and shipping info, and serial number.

Easy replacement.

I sure hope it goes that well, but not sure if it works that smoothly in Europe. Hopefully I don't have to send my unit back first and wait for them to check it, which would take them probably a couple weeks based on emailing speed :D And the shipping back takes atleast a week.

The only thing delayed longer than the Crafty App is the roll-out of the Crafty Power Bank sold by S&B.

can anyone tell me if it's worth upgrading from a solo?
some member (the reviewer) on reddit don't think so.

I'd like to know your opinion as well.

@Bill Densoyle What is the Crafty Power Bank? I couldn't find any accessory called the Power Bank on the Storz and Bickel website...

You can see it listed in the October 2014 US Price List, downloadable on the S&B website.

Man, S&B customer service is exceptionally good, so it makes no sense why you would not expect them to fix it promptly. Or else maybe they would say, "Sorry you should have checked to see if your phone is compatible before purchase, just like we told you before you clicked Add To Cart."

I am on the same fence. I am considering selling my Herbie and using either Crafty or Mighty exclusively... I am waiting to see if Crafty is as powerful as the Mighty then I might go with a Crafty as my daily driver and live with the lower number of bowls but if Mighty outperforms Crafty then I think I will go Mighty to be my daily driver..

I haven't really seen much comparisons with the S&B portables VS other portables until recently- it has been coming in slowly so after a bit maybe will figure out if selling Herbie is the way to go..

Personally.. I like S&B as a company so it makes sense if I would go with S&B... But my VAS is telling me to keep herbie and get either one... so if I go that direction.. Im hoping Crafty is as powerful as Mighty to make my wallet a bit happier :D

Well my experience so far hasn't be the best so I can only judge based on that at the moment. Maybe it will get better and the end result will be as good as one can hope.

About the phone being compatible, I'm not sure if you mean that they would answer that way if they had a bad customer service or implying that I haven't checked it, either way the phone should be compatible according to their site and I tested other phones too. And I don't think that the customer service has to be extra "bad" for you not to be happy with it. Slow communication and answers that aren't addressing the issues are not part of a good customer service in my opinion.

I've owned more portables than I care to count. The Solo was one of the better units, close to the FireFly in my book. The Crafty, however, is the first time I've been truly happy with a portable vape for flowers. No fuss. It just works (very well).

Well it's probably a particularly busy time for them to field General Questions so soon after this big new release. But if you send them an email with the subject including your original order #, like go find your original purchase confirmation email and reply to it, my experience is that they will answer it promptly.

Also the firefly has a glass bowl, and no plastic at all.

The solo offers superior battery life, but the firefly gives better vapor.

Nobody can tell you if it's worth it to you to upgrade. They can only say whether it was worth it to them. Even then, who says you both feel the same way about the Solo? And there's how YOU feel about spending 400 for a portable, vs. how they feel. Buy it here and you've got at least 30 days to test drive it, maybe longer. They offer 60 days on the Volcano. If you don't think it's a worthy upgrade, return it for a refund.

Hey @darkrom, since you also had a cera, how is the vapor quality compared to the crafty?

Thanks in advance

So one thing about my Crafty that has been bothering me was the apparent disconnect between the website and what I was told from tech support regarding the lower screen in the filling chamber. The website clearly shows these finer screens for sale and clearly refers to them as filling chamber screens. Also while looking into the filling chamber I could see a counter bore that looked like it held the screen in place. So I went for it and pulled it out. It came out EASILY, just like I thought it would, so now we can clean it, replace it, and clean under it . . . :) There is also a thingy in the center of the bottom that keeps the middle of the screen up and makes it easier to reset. Its hard to photograph . . .

Have found a nice trick:
I thought you had to turn on the Crafty (that means it starts heating up) or charge it to connect it to your phone and change settings.
You don't, a quick press on the POWER button will somehow turn on the Bluetooth, so you can connect and change settings without turning it on and having it heat up, possibly wasting battery.

Not sure if it was mentioned previously, haven't found it in the manual.

I think the cera LL was one of if not the highest vapor quality I've had. That being said I had to work SO FUCKING HARD to get minimal vapor and effects. Like sipping a quarter glass of fine wine, while the crafty feels more like doing a nice quick chug of some 151. Well, besides the taste that is. The cera LL tasted better in my eyes. The firefly too, but the crafty is not far behind. It makes up for that slightly less awesome taste than those 2 by producing buckets of vapor. The effects are MUCH stronger on the crafty than any portable vape to date. I have my firefly as a backup, but I find myself switching back to my portable oil vapes until my crafty comes back. When I had my crafty I was back to vaping just buds outside the house, and had saved oil for at home only the entire short week or so I had the crafty.
